- New York City designates October as the "Filipino American History Month". The awarding ceremonies for the Outstanding Filipino Americans of New York (TOFA-NY) is held at the Weill Hall @Carnegie Hall in NYC on October 27, 2012. Our dear Charice is invited to this event of course and sang her single "The Way You Look Tonight" and another duet with Cheesa Laureta, a finalist in the American talent show "The Voice".

Precisely my fellow Chaster. Charice is so smart that she discovered at an early stage on how to preserve her voice if she really wants to stay in the business. Belting most of the time gives more harm than good to a singer's vocal chord. Her low register is amazing plus her sweet voice is extra ordinary. Good job Charice!
We must remember that Charice is a human person who needs inspiration and who needs to enjoy life. She has her mentors who guide her, she has her team and a great recording company..We must give the kid a break bec. we have been used to seeing her as someone that should always cater to our endless pleasures..

It does not matter to me if some people argued that it was prerecorded - what is important is that Charice and Cheesa were there added the flavor. Congrats both of you.
Just a beautiful song with 2 exceptional singers! The instrumentals and backup vocals are of course precorded, but I believe they were singing live. You could hear Charice breathing before she sings her part. Regardless if it is lip synch or not, we all know Charice's and Cheesa's exceptional voices and talent.

Cheesa's intro (humming part) is already proof that it is LIVE. Listen to the original. It's simple. Here, Cheesa adds a run at the end. Need anymore proof? Just listen to the breathing, it's sooo obvious that it's live.

in my personal opinion this is not lip-sync. Two great Divas i believe would not deprive this small audience of a great live performance. The extended sound we hear from Cheesa is maybe the echo that the venue produces bec. this was taken by Lantao whom i believe is in the audience. Great performance as ever!!

On the X Factor Finale, Charice sang Pyramid LIVE to a plus-one track with pre-recorded backing vocals. The sustained high note where she goes "Pyramiiiiiiiiid" had a mix of both her live vocals and the backing vocals.
i can detect when charice is well rested, here i can feel she is. Charice no matter what will happen keep on SMILING dear, cheesa is with music industry with her bro troy they can handle hard situations. I'm glad charice found a family in foreign country who really take care of her. Not those times when she really went back in her beloved homeland Philippines now and then because she miss her family much

Charice doew not lipsync, if you compare to the original song (charice's part), they are different. The way Charice sings in this song is mostly like the original. Therefore we can see that she can live as what she recoreds in the studio. She is so talented, Chasters always love her
Prerecorded or not what they are paying here is Charice's appearance that night. They just probably had enough money to pay for ONE live song which was Charice's solo song The Way You Look Tonight. I bet this duet wasn't even included in what they paid, they even wanted more after this song and you know pinoys, give them an inch they'll take a yard for free. People should keep in mind that Charice's live performance is not cheap like other pinoy artists. Just enjoy it and not critique!

As REAL CHASTERS, I believe we don't just become fanatic with our idol to the extent that even the reality, we deny and make ourselves believe what is not true :) Charice has proven everything in the music industry internationally & maybe they have reasons why they lip synced but of course,we can't be blamed if AT FIRST, we become shocked since we get used to Charice - always singing live
