Привет из России!
Hello from Russia!
It’s pretty scary how splitting apart the tiniest particles of matter and/or slamming into each other can release so much energy. The fact that a single device could level an entire city in a matter of seconds is also pretty scary.
It is scary. but then we're tapping into a process that powers the the stars--I'm speaking of the hydrogen (thermonuclear) bomb which uses fission to set off fusion. And if you're anywhere near the epicenter, you will be vaporized long before your brain can comprehend what's going on (kind of like the people in Pompeii who got hit by a pyroclastic surge and killled even before their nerves could register pain).
Also just 100 nuclear bombs can almost completely wipe out all life, and the U.S. has around 6000 bombs; or can destroy all life 60 times. Russia has like 4000 (I think).
Even worse is combining anti matter and matter
@@chieftain8638 You know what the scariest thing about a hypothetical antimatter weapon would be? By design, nuclear weapons are actually rather safe. They're not going to go off unless they're intentionally detonated; you can beat them, shoot them, etc., and if anything you'll just disable it. Antimatter, on the other hand, needs to be contained to prevent it from mixing with ordinary matter and annihilating, so you'd need some sort of containment system to isolate the antimatter. If that system fails for whatever reason? Boom.

I've studied nuclear weapons for over 5 years and have produced my own design. If you're still working on this project and have any questions, I'm happy to answer them.
@@Evan_Bell thats really cool
and the only question I have is the after math of the nuclear war will it actually cover the atmosphere in smoke and then what ?
@@muhammadibraheem6037 There's a disagreement among scientist on whether or not that would happen. The hypothesis is that a nuclear fireball would start firestorms in cities, which would pump soot and smoke into the upper atmosphere, where it would attenuate some sunlight, cooling the surface of the planet (termed nuclear winter). Among other things, this would cause massive crop failure and mass starvation. The Hiroshima bombing did produce a firestorm, although the Nagasaki attack did not. Also Japanese cities in the 40s were made of many more flammable materials than most cities in industrialised nations.
Again, the science isn't settled.
Some models estimate that from a full scale nuclear exchange between Russia and the USA, temperatures in central Eurasia could drop by as much as 30 celcius, and that they wouldn't return to pre-war conditions for over a decade (as that's how long it would take the soot particulates to settle to the ground).

you should point out that almost all blast power comes from nuclear fission. The hydrogen fusion stage is mainly there to generate more neutrons as the atoms fuse, this in turn causes a higher % of uranium to undergo fission. This is why hydrogen and its isotopes are very challenging as a choice of fusion fuel for reactors.
it's also why alot of people don't think Russia's nuke work anymore, since those fuels require constant replacements they almost certainly haven't been doing.

Oppenheimer, amazing film!
It’s beautiful in a way, all that potential from a single atom splitting. It’s like the Big Bang but “miniaturized”, everything from nothing in an instant.
What amazes me is how small the components are in the bomb.
If i'm not wrong ofcourse. But i think i've heard that they are very small, like the size of a golf ball or something similar. And to get such insanely huge explosions from such small objects just melts my mind.
Not the fission of a single atom. The little boy weapon fissioned approximately 20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms.
@@Gielderst What components? Some are much smaller... Wires for example that aren't much thicker than a human hair.

Hahahahah hahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahah very funny my guy

Sml reference
when the ratio of protons to ELECTRONS is the same, the atom is neutrally charged. Neutrons are responsible, mostly, for holding the nucleus together and, ironically, for splitting atoms in fission. They also have no charge. Hence why they are called "neu"-trons because they are neutrally charged.
I remember literally doing a report explaining all of this in high school for a project. It was a lot to say the least.

The atom bombs we dropped, including over time, saved more lives than anything in history.
How
@@rusteddenial453 The invasion of Japan alone was estimated to take about a million allied lives and that's not even counting many more on the Japanese side. We unfortunately have a war started in Europe now but without the nuclear deterrent there would have been many, many more in the time since the end of World War 2 that would have cost countless millions of lives. Just for starters.
Thanks for the build tutorial, it helped.

It’s funny how actually designing and assembling a nuclear bomb is relatively easy the only hard part that has kept so many nations from making nukes is that it’s so hard to get the fissile material needed for the core of the nuke.
It's a little more complicated than that. Both Little Boy and Fat Man had polonium / beryllium initiators. The initiator design is still classified. Another problem with the implosion device is triggering all of the separate explosive lenses simultaneously.
Wow ! Was just wondering how a atomic bomb works.

To be specific, you need a material that can reflect radiation and heat well so that the first fission explosion can effectively set off the fusion reaction and potentially the third fission and the fourth fusion reaction.

@@ceremonial691 So to put it simply those are the coordinates of where you put a substantial amount of elements 92 and 94. Knowing that I can synthesize the lithium deuteride. Sweet.
Noted
2:40 It's actually the ratio of protons and electrons. Since neutrons don't have any charge, it doesn't change the charge of the atoms. Also, most atoms don't have the same number of protons and neutrons.
No, it's actually protons:neutrons. Charge is not the factor to cause fusion/fisson. Although I don't know why it is that way. I'm pretty sure it's proton:neutron which makes the element radioactive.
dats tru
Not sure what you mean? If the neutrons and protons are not the same then they are maladjusted and make an adjustment (radio activity) by shooting off a proton with an electron or without as a hydrogen or emitting gamma radiation eventually (or quickly) reaching a stabilised element.
There is always an electron for every proton in an atom, if it does lose its electron, it becomes a negative ion and can be emitted.
Neutrons may be seen as dead weight but they do change the atomic weight, forming an isotope of the original atom.
This is crucial in refining and seperating isotopic forms of the same atom

Possible plot twist: A-Bombs are just practice to fend off hostile-ETs. Just in case
I love your narration.
Once again infographic answering the real questions
You forgot the neutron reflector, usually boron or aluminum, which is an important part of the process. The tamper, while being composed of U-238 is used to increase yield (U-238 is not easily fissile but when in close proximity to U-235 undergoing fission during an atomic explosion, it can undergo fission), the neutron reflector drastically reduces the critical mass needed for nuclear detonation, by several dozens of kilograms
Do youexperience difficult or won't to invest
WHATSAPP
+14155944693......… ..
The tamper of uranium is there for two reasons. The first, as you've noted, is to reflect neutrons, and the second is to slow down the expansion of the pit so the fission reaction continues as long as possible before it expands and the fission reaction stops.
Hopefully we bigfoots will be safe from these things if we stay far enough out here in the wilderness

At 2:42 you said when the ratio of protons to neutrons is 1:1, then the atom as a whole will have a neutral charge.
Just a correction, for an atom to be electrically neutral the ratio of protons to electrons(and not neutrons) has to be 1:1 as they both possess charges whereas the neutron already has no charge, so it is not included while measuring the electric charge of the atom⚛️.
