My favorite online FPS of all time. When it first came out, I didn't think it was gonna be but the gunplay in this game just felt great, everything felt polished and it felt like a real "next-gen" experience because of the frostbite engine, it was better than anything else at that time. I was more of an infantry player but couldn't resist jumping in the choppers from time to time. I just love the fact that this game had a little bit of everything. If you were an infantry only player, you could do that. If you were a tanker and just wanted to drive tanks or an LAV all game, you could do that. If you wanted to team up with a buddie and just stay in a chopper all match long, you could do that and it felt great having that teamwork between pilot and gunner. If you were a good jet pilot, you could fly a jet all game and dominate(and piss a ton of people off while doing it). That's what made BF so great back then. Variety. Great maps. Great weapons. Great expansions.
countless hours on Xbox 360... it was incredible and absolutely groundbreaking. and even single player was awesome. The graphics blew my mind back then. And everything felt so rough and rugged. The whole atmosphere was intense and the gameplay felt pretty realist, especially to other shooters at the time. every Battlefield that came after never beat that. I liked Battlefield 1 but since Battlefield 5 i have left this franchise for good.
@@SyntaxError0287 metro was absolutley nuts playing with headphones and hearing all those rocket launcher rounds flying around in those tight metro tunnels.. then grenade launcher wars in totally packed corridors... then one C4 flys into our team and we all blow up. Or someone sneaked behind and downs an entire team with a full mag of Usas-12 Frag ammo. I never had more fun in an only game. Nothing topped that for me.
During highschool staying up late grinding 24/7 max tickets Noshahr Canals TDM and Metro. 1200 plus hours and reaching Colonel 100. Sweet satisfaction. Man those were the days. The Gun play was absolutely superb in BF3. Every gun had a punch in it and the Frostbite engine was in a league of its own. What a complete game this was.

You’re not just a small “elite” team like most military fps that go up against forces 10x their size, but a squad within a whole platoon, with others doing their part like an actual military operation. I guess I’m just fatigued with current games putting me in the role of operators, it feels like they’re just made to appeal to the “tacticool” community when I’m sure damn well they wouldn’t even pass their training
I love stealth and tactical shooters but I also loved Battlefield. It was always about the chaos and destruction of war. Sucks they went full COD with their last release when their entire fanbase never asked for it

I never got as many kills in a BF game as I did in the bomber seat except for Jihad Jeep and camping Metro hallway with a scoped & silenced 60 in BF3. Good Times...

7:20 i lost my mind when i saw those light effects back then on Xbox 360. i just got my brand new Samsung 42 inch plasma TV with 720p screen. I worked the whole summer to afford that thing. And then i got my BF3 pre order and started playing and it totally blew my mind. Super rugged and realistic feeling atmosphere. It wasnt so goofy like other shooters. The graphics, atmosphere, sound and story was just awesome to play and defenitely next gen and AAA worthy. And the multiplayer was the most fun i have ever had in any online game. It even topped Modern Warfare 2 (which means alot) The possibilites where literally endless. From close quarters metro fights with rocket launchers, grenade launchers, c4 and explosive Shotgun rounds where whole teams got obliberated at once if someone made a good shot, total domination with good jet and helicopter pilots, or long range sniping across the map where sniper players from both teams always placed themself on the highest mountain in the furthest distance possible. No battlefield could match that awesomeness. I think Battlefield 1 was the only really good Bf that came afterwards but then it really went downhill.
I dont know the curre t state of battlefield now. But I loved the story of BF bad company, BF3 and BF4. The presence of the military/infantry side really stood out, and complications of war to drive the plot. I just miss this kind of stuff.
I wish they would remaster this game in Unreal 5 with more realistic lighting, shadows, and effects and fix all if not most of the issues. That would be Epic. I'm willing to pay another $60 for it.
I like how inthe first mission here atleast its possible to complete without getting hit, instead of having 100 enemies swarm you and only your multiple hp being able to keep you alive, it feels more immmersive

I had my fair share in game audio design and I wanna say that this was and still is next level shit .. the audio design in this game is phenomenal! If I’d get the chance to work together with the individuals who did this, I am in :)

Going from Battlefield bad company to this was the almost overwhelming 😂 this was the most anticipated beta release imo and when the full game dropped it shit on everything. They have really ruined battlefield with 2042.
I can't believe ea is entertaining the thought of removing the multi-player capabilities from this game smh apparently they want to focus more on 2042 and the newer bf series. I wish they would continue to work on updating bf 3 and make it better as it's a decent game.

Frostbites movements were built off of the motion capture from NBA Live . I remember dice writing an article about it when they did Mirrors edge

The russian assault class starter rifle was the AKM and US marines had the M16 and it felt so real
