I think this depends on many things. First and most, they have to be frank about themselves and really seeking out for the truth. Then, it is just a matter of time to accept Islam. As it is said by Allah in the quran it is up to them to decide and whenever they do that Allah opens their hearts and ears and guides them towards himself.
I think it is also important for us to have a life that aligns with taqwa rhen when we call people to Islam they will also judge the religion based on our life and decide based upon this.

Salam Daniel, please tell your mother something from me. I'm a revert and my parents are deaf and orthodox so non Muslims. 2022 my mom died and i just can hope that my mom fits the criteria that she doesn't really get the message and will judges about that and get an chance to get forgiveness. Our relationship wasn't easy and she was a simple person so learning new things wasn't easy for her. Now that she is no longer with us, I cry a lot, when I think about her and im afraid that she would face eternal hell. Please be open to islam for you and for your son, so you hava a chance to meet in paradise again. May Allah guide your heart to the truth before it's to late. ❤
