I can't believe that this is the 9th week or pure joy on a Saturday evening! Those tiles are my favourite. I have used that station so many times and always love the architecture. Now I know what is behind the grille doors. Another absolutely superb broadcast. Thank you all. I grew up in Epping Forest, I now know that Loughton must be a Charles Holden design and I assume the Buckhurst Hill might be a Leslie Green. I would love to a quick run through the designers of the above ground underground stations. John

Hi, I think Loughton was designed by John Murray Easton, and Buckhurst Hill by W Ashbee.

I love watching these videos nearly every time, you take me back to the 1950's and silly little things that I remember.
    Thank you all.

Another great hangout, it was one of my favourite locations to photograph.
The tunnels are in superb condition with some great tiling.
I can really recommend the tour.
But then I’d recommend all the tours.🤔😁

Alex! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my earlier query. And so kind to give me a little plug too. You all bring history alive in such an entertaining way which is so important! xx

Lovely episode, thank you, and the (almost) complete outfit coordination - though the mugs were matching! I'd had no idea that Piccadilly Circus had unused passageways.

You've asked for requests/suggestions. How about the Kingsway Tram Subway? While the Underground is fascinating, London Transport was also about buses, trams and trolleybuses.

Rob McCaffery that’s a lovely suggestion. I wasn’t sure if the tram tunnel would appeal to our lovely fans but maybe it would....

The statue of "Anteros" was removed during the 1920s station excavations and placed in Embankment Gardens. It was the first statue in the world to be made of alumimium. ( Might come in useful for a future pub quiz!)

I know you've made mention of Brompton, but I really hope you are going to do an episode on that station as well.

Loving these programmes and watched all of them - but.....what about the buses? LGOC, 'Pirate' bus operators, Stockwell Garage, Aldenham and Chiswick Works, iconic bus types (B, RT, RM), Country buses, Green Line.... Thanks.

From a TFL Employee perspective, I would say May 21st end of traffic hours 1932. Technically when its close of traffic, its close of service .., so that would have been it!
