Good god, Madeline Khan was simply irresistible! Her every move, her manners, the tone of her voice had this amazing power of a truly Great Artist…and she definitely was one! And she still is irreplaceable in any way! It’s so sad that she was taken so early being still so young. She was the gifted lady who had this amazing warmth! Truly missed, truly
She never changed. She was so self deprecating and generous with her comments to others. A warm, funny, talented lady, you can see why John loved her so much.
Madeline was a national treasure, and gone too soon. I met her one time and she made me feel like the only other person in the world for that half hour or so. And despite her claims to the contrary, she was naturally funny- just not in the typical way. Her humor in movies was her art and the product of much deliberation and work. In real life, she didn't say funny things- she said things funny. She embedded in my life in 30 minutes, and missed by so many.

Madeline Kahn was just unique. And she always cheers me up whatever she did. She was the best.
oh Madeline Kahn.. She makes you forgot the bad and think of the good. Loved this. Thank you. I loved her in Paper Moon as well as the Mel Brooks films.
She was *everything. Gorgeous gifted loovely classy & died waay too fng young (& only 2 yrs later)!! Geezus :-(. Soo many awful, rotten, pretentious 'stars' continue going on & on & on yet it's almost always the truly special pulsating stars & humans who leave waay too soon! Had a Bea Arthur kind of rare talent/quality (moment she opens her mouth, facial expressions etc..) verbal & non verbal *hysterical! Thank G-D we still have Carol Burnett!
No, she was diagnosed in fall 1998, and she was on Cosby at the time, so after this appearance and before her diagnosis was she very active on all the major talk shows promoting Cosby. She worked on Cosby until a few months before her death, and she was promoting her last movie Judy Berlin all of 1999, if not on talk shows. She was never out of the public eye until weeks beofre she passed in December 1999.
Madeline Kahn was a treasure. This was a fantastic interview.
Her voice is magic

I loved Madeline Kahn! Clue, Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein are some of my all-time favorite films.
I never understand what people like about 'Clue' It's just not a great movie.
Don't forget PAPER MOON!
@@putinscat1208 Best Frank-N-Furter Von Shtupp whodunit murder mystery board game comedy EVER, it's a CLASSIC!!! & 2 gud 4 u, evidently.
@@unowen-nh9ov I just think the movie is kind of boring. It also reminds me a bit of 'Murder by Death' which was made 9 years earlier.
Clue is my all time favorite film - perfectly cast, hilarious, and all around perfect
She is too fabulous for words! 🤩

3:42 "im Salzkammergut da kamma gut lustig sein"...Austrian song about region near Salzburg. She did it excellent!!
Rosie knew how to get the best out of her guests
Her spoof on Marlene Dietrich singing "I'm so tired" in Blazing Saddles was the best.
🙏RIP🙏
She reminds me of shirley maclaine . Overly talented and hot red head that is so adorable she can do no

She passed away in 1999
Cancer. Just like the rest of us.
Was this her last or one of her last tv appearences before she was diagnosed?

@@raraavis1984 & recently married.
@@unowen-nh9ov Well, only married for 2 months for inheritance/pension reasons, and married in the hospital. She didn't believe in marriage, pe se.
Madeline Kahn always steals the show !
Great actress gone way to soon
Its Tue its Tue..
She looked great for her age... she's pushing 60 here.
She died at age 57. Not exactly 60.
@@jdpatrick1106 Pushing 60 means not quite 60
@@TheKitchenerLeslie Does that mean pushing death is not quite dead? Because everyone is pushing death.
@@jdpatrick1106 Just admit you don't understand the common usage of the term.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie You can't really push an age if you die 3 years before you even achieve it
Is Reese Witherspoon, some lost daughter of Madeline Kahn ??
Exactly
Not even close.
She was one of those people you can’t tell if they are being fully open and serious, or if they are totally bullshitting everyone
