I picked up an SD60 painted in KCS grey. It's a static display model. I think it was supposed to be a gift for employeed of KCS. It came mounted on a wooden base with cork and a piece of track. The chassis is an Athearn SD40t-2. So I picked up a powered chassis off of ebay and i'm in the process of cleaning it all up and adding details. I think i'm going to replace the dynamic brake and radiator fans as you've done here. I'm generally scared of photo etch so may stick with a plastic part. But I plan on watching this entire series in preparation for the work. Even though i'm not doing a complete repaint, etc. This is my first attempt at doing this kind of stuff although I do have some minor experience building plastic model cars and aircraft.
Can you post more videos? feels like this project is lasting a decade. The series is great and I enjoy putting the techniques to practice. Great work all around, Thanks Dan and John!
Thanks, it would be fun if the pace was picked up to maybe two videos a month. Enjoy all the videos on TM TV as well. Curious if you post any thing on diesel detailer forum as well?
Nice to see I'm not the only one who cuts the Plano lift rings into two pieces. They're awesome parts, but I just can't get them to fold properly. Great build series.
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Yosef Hezekiah Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
its coming along nice, love the detail you are sticking to it Dan, so when this is all done, and I know a long way from that, What are your plans for it? EBay? I would love a chance to own such a model
Thank you so much for posting this tutorial. I learned so much from this series.
Thanks for watching. Comments like yours are very rewarding to read.

the little marks on the D/A fan you installed are the marks the ejector pins in the mold make when it pushes the part out

Detail Associates pt. 2006 (not Cannon).
