  • Join me in having a closer look at this very capable compresser from Acustica Audio.
    Acoustica Audio Tan Compresser
This is based on the SSL Gbus compresser
Where to best use it, its CPU usage, looking at the plugin, and explanation of the meter and different controls. Playing and bypassing to check whether the plugin adds any colour, starting with subtle compression, comparing and contrasting with the compresser on and off. Next, a more aggressive compression setting, again bypassing and putting it back in to compare and contrast with and without the plugin, and finally the most aggressive + using the parallel compression facility and bypassing and putting it back in.

Completely agree with you, this plugin is fantastic on drum bus. Glue and give a color, very happy with it 👍👍

Thanks for the video, the way you demonstrated was very easy to follow and easy to hear what the plugin was doing at the same time!
Only question that I have is regarding the SHMod! You said it allows more of the transient to get through the compreessor, so what would be the effect of increasing the SHMod value with a fast attack setting?
    Thanks again!

      Hi Frederico,
Unfortunately I changed computers and no longer have that plugin. Instead, I'm using Analogue Obsession Buster, which is also a great free plugin.
