Radar signature was taken at 9:52PM CST on May 8th, 2024. (5-8-24) With the moderate risk of severe weather and 10% tornado area. This taken place in Southern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. Central and Central and NE Mousasi. Most of Kentucky and Tennessee. The RapidSweep does a new scan every 2 Minutes on average but can be from 1-4 minutes depending on the sight and how much there is going on in the area and in the facility.

Yes, because RadarOmega is only trying to become the next WSV3 and can't. In RO, you have to buy the Radar Sweep animation as an add-on. In WSV3, it comes free with your monthly subscription. Period. The better choice will always be WSV3.
Can you get wsv3 on android? I searched the store and didn't find it. Or is wsv3 an acronym?

Hey I have RadarScope and RadarOmega. I just compared the two side by side on two phones and maybe half of the time, rapid sweep gave me a scan faster than RadarScope, and only by a few seconds. One SAILS scan also came in about 10 seconds faster on RadarScope than RadarOmega w/rapidsweep.

If you have a faster pc or internet, the faster it can be. Also, it depends on how much stuff is going on and slows down radar omega stuff. For me, it scans every minute to 2 minutes.

Coreection i cam use.it. goes around 1x and stops. App keeps going back to default to. Why pay 11.99/mo for sweepimg but only goes around 1x..i feel like i got robbed
I just hate how it doesn't keep going. The scan will show up randomly once enabled and then before I can get a complete scan or two it will go away for another 5 mins.

Well it is and will be impossible for WSR-88D radars to have a live feed like you suggest. The way radar scans work is the rotating dish continuously scans and does multiple revolutions for different heights. While getting live raw data from the radar and having that be sent out as the “sweep” is possible, NOAA will never release raw radar data nor NEXRAD level 1 data. What us consumers see is level 2 and 3 and that requires processing time and it requires the entire scan to be complete including the different levels when scanned. Because of this, a live let alone continuous radar sweep is not possible. What RadarOmega shows is just an animation showing the transition from the old data to the new data. This animation combined with making completely free data paid is just another attempt at grabbing your money. Everything except for the cycloneports (commercialized also) is publicly accessible and able to live-streamed at or even faster than the rates at which radaromega broadcasts. This is why you should look at completely free apps and websites like supercell-wx for radar and the mrms operational viewer, mesoanalysis, pivotalweather, and many others just to name a few instead of the cash grab radaromega. I pay for the tier one of RadarScope just for the ease of use and it’s hella worth it. Paying such a monthly subscription is never worth it for monetized public data
Also the stuff the news use is their own version of an animation. Live streamed data like this is never possible with the current nexrad network. Future phased array radars will be able to live-streamed
The scan you see is actually the lowest level scan of 0.5 degrees, then the radar will go about scanning the rest of the sky above it. This varies with MRLE and SAILS/MESO-SAILS

and me personally i would rather pay $120 per year for radar omega than $250 a year for wsv3

WSV3's downfall compared to Radar Omega is that WSV3 doesn't have a mobile app.
@@treasureman2023 WSV3 is a far more reliable weather app. Its engine is top quality and thus as of now cannot be on a mobile app. The great thing about it though is it requires a low budget computer and doesn’t require any fancy graphic processing.
is there anyway to make the sweep stay on all the time instead of being enabled and going off the radar every 30 seconds to a minute ?

2, Your not from USA, My channel is dedicated to US science and is named after a radar signature called Velocity, If you dare to argue you will be warned from google and be banned from my channel. I may sound strict but i cannot change a weather teams name thats been around longer than you have had your channel or YT acc.
3, the US NWS knows who I am and takes reports I got or have received. Its like you saying to change a safety business like the police or even sheriff.
