BBC: British Broadcasting Cooperative
>corporative
@@sisophon1982 I think the original was correct. It means shared ownership of, and democratic decision-making in a company (worker cooperative that is).
*collective
cooperative implies the existence of a profit motive
BBC: Blimey Blithering Communists
British Broadcasting Collective would be better
In UoB Brezhnev is a British MP - the more you know
Guess he moved.
Would it be more accurate to say MTUC?
He probably moved to Britain after the rise of the Russian State
He changed his name to Boris
nah thats lionel broughton
If you listen closely you can actually hear karl marx crying of happiness
@Bukali Kat Gaming syndicalism is a sect of socialism
Modern socialist theory traces back to karl marx so yes but no
@@evielikeshugs1055 Well pre Marx actually especially if we talking British Socialism (Not that the working class has a single nation or border).
One day
@DJM Syndicalism was originally the main revolutionary strategy of anti-State Socialists namely the Anarchists.
It's not so much a rival strain of thought to Marxism but a strategy of workers self emancipation via the use of revolutionary unions.
Anarchism, Council Communism being the main rival to Marxism at the time, see the whole Marx vs Bakunin thing and the IWA split between the Anarchists and Marxists.
@DJM Also "was" Syndicalism still exists today ya know.
It's like I'm looking through a tube that views an alternate universe.
0:50. Critical support for famous British revolutionary Leonid Brezhnev.
Ah yes, radical socialist Leonard Brushney
Real Jeremy Corbyn hours

Yes. YES.
I'm sorry, but that's just Oh Christmas Tree

@@poweroftheztars I'll be honest, I got that from hearing it
How strange. Makes me nostalgic for a world that never was.
I'm a Great British Socialism I think this is a better country
Great edit! Really gave off a nostalgic feeling of old British tv. Also I loved the Socialist Victory Choir Internationale and the Red Flag at the end. Nice job!
This is really well edited. Good job
D'ya think Doctor Who would still be a thing in the UoB?
Well probably
@@ivanf.482 Given that Sidney Newman is actually Canadian, it's not 100% likely. Britain needs to defeat the Entente and establish a Syndicalist Canada and then this Alt-Newman still needs to move to the UK to work as head of drama for the UBC. But if all of the above happens a version of Doctor Who will probably happen.
@@TheJovian16 or if a totalist Union of Socialist American States annexes Canada
@@TheJovian16 Then it could be far more Canadian based. Still focusing on British history, likely a lot more propagandist for retaking the Isles.
@@a-cell4564 Or if it’s more of Krasnacht scenario, where RadSoc/Syndie factions prevail in the CSA and support a socialist Revolution in Canada, there might be a more leftist version of the story; maybe the Daleks are more explicitly Fascist and the Doctor relies more on the help of his companions and not just himself
Do TV in the CSA after the Second American Civil War
Under Foster or Browder

This is so realistic I LOVE IT
I didn't know Brezhnev was English.
Ahahahhaha
No that’s Lionel Brenton
Tbh, fr, life in the Union of Britain might be better off than in actual UK. Considering much of the population supports the Union government.
Alternatively that could just be propaganda. I wouldn't put it past any government to lie to make it seem like their population supports them.
Based Britian in this timeline
I wish...
The secret good ending be like
Even in Socialist Britain you still have the Knotts & Crosses Girl + Clown.
Anyways very good work.
I love test Card F
break the chains
we'll keep the red flag flying here
What if i want to break the chains of the red flag 😳
Great, now I'm curious as to what the microcomputer wars of the 80s look like in this timeline.
This is so comfy

Well, good-drawn parody of the congress of CPUS.
This is amazing
Yo this is awesome really like this
I un ironically want it
New theory: scarfolk council is part of the Union of Britain
Great video
Wow that is a cool video loved the tv sign off
Kropotkin approves
I wish this was real...
I think it is a debatable whether this clip is based on any of the UoB routes:
-Public and televised interviews are conducted with autonomist members (+1 to autonomist route).
-Anniversaries of patriotic-socialist events are celebrated (+1 to maximalist route).
-Public works of energy sources are promoted (I don't remember which route is more prone to collective industrialization).
-Collective propaganda is emphasized (with phrases like "we will keep the red flag flying here").
I would say that probably, because of the slight emphasis on giving voice to a little bit of everything, but still maintaining some focus on a certain collectivist narrative, it is the restorationist route (the coup route against Mosley and the maximists).
The truly good ending
Krasnacht in a nutshell
Good job this Looks like it actually happened back in the day

Do you think the UoB signed the 2nd peace with honour in this timeline?

I like that I got this recommendation
The fella stood next to Brezhnev has a passing resemblance to Gordon Brown, the idea of which makes this a lot better

I'm guessing in this timeline the Orthodox syndies got into power, so not that totalitarian
Well syndicalism is not a dictatorial or totalitarian system , instead it even takes elements of anarchy , being libertarian socialist. The idea of authoritarian socialism we have comes from USSR
@tea _ no you ignorant
@tea _ in otl and today yeah. But just because they all followed bolshevism. But in kaiserreich there is syndicalism
@tea _ You know nothing John Snow.
Why hasn’t Canada retaken the home islands?
It isn´t generally that realistic that they would be able to do so.
Britain Good ending
Superbly done - I'm glad it's just an alt-hist. Love the blackboard message when Test Card F is displayed at the very end.
Something just as dystopian, but fortunately short-lived, was Nazi television from 1935 to 1944, "Deutscher Fernseh Rundfunk" - lotsa vids here with actual footage.
Oh, I see a foreign delegation! Kosygin and Brezhnev
Okay, even though I'm against communist Britain, I have to strongly appreciate the work. It was astonishing
