Yup, it would have been accurate. I would have put 4th officer Boxhall going to the mail room as I know he went down and saw a mail bag floating by. He explained that part in later radio interviews.
They should have kept everything in as an extended cut on Blu Ray and give the viewer the choice of which version to watch. There are extended versions of other James Cameron movies so not sure why titanic never received the same treatment. I would buy that version day 1
I think the only deleted scene they should have kept was at the very end when Ismay is walking through the crowd of survivors and everyone just stops and stares at him. Foreshadowing the public humiliation he would soon follow after surviving the wreck.
Two other scenes that shouldn't have been deleted are the one where Rose has a panic attack in her cabin before trying to jump off the ship, and the one that shows Cora dying. The Cora one was removed because it was too dark even for this film, but I still think they should've kept it in.
There needs to be a home media release of the film with all of the historically accurate scenes seamlessly inserted. Also, the scenes with third-class passengers Fabrizio and Helga need to be restored as that was also another burgeoning romance that ended tragically.
They go down the stairs due to a deleted line in one of the first scriptments where Jack says "He'd think up". Lovejoy, an actual person, logically thinks they'd go up. So they outsmart him. The stairs likely led to the Maids and Valets' saloon! Also, there's some filmed deleted scenes with the footage missing - such as Fabrizio's original death, a bulldog in the water with Jack and Rose, and Rose using the help of two first-class men to escape Cal.
i believe that in the lovejoy chasing scene trough the dining room jack and rose run downstairs because they knew he had a gun and if they run upstairs that would have been the obvious move and he would have had find them, and they didnt know if upstairs it was going to be easy to find an exit or there where going to be more looked doors so that was just too dangerous for them,, so jack did not want to do the obvious move to run upstairs because the ship was sinking so he decided to go down thinking that lovejoy wasn't gonna go downstairs thinking that they went up, and thats how they could escape from him.
The Dining Room fight scene was deleted because by that point almost all the lifeboats had been lowered, so the chances of Lovejoy actually getting the necklace and surviving were very slim. When I first saw that scene, as the Dining Room flooded more and more, I said out loud “Is this guy nuts?!” That was the same reaction the test audience had because the ship sinking is the much greater threat.
The mail room is historically accurate. Cpt Smith looked directly down 3 or 4 flights of stairs directly into tge mail room to see it already submerged. Letters floating. Staff were trying to save it, believing the ship would hold. Cpt Smith knew then he was in trouble.
An important scene they should have kept was the whole Californian scene with Philip’s and the Californian’s wireless operator it’s just a missing part that people could understand part of the story as well as Harold Bride telling Philip’s to leave the wireless room scene too
The scene with Molly Brown wasn't in the Cafe Parisien, it was the starboard Verandah Cafe, and as other pointed out, inaccurate given Molly was asleep in bed, as well the cafe wouldn't have been still serving at that hour. Definitely deserved the cutting room floor.
The alternate ending. Have Paxton nab the jewel from Rose and run off. Cut to Paxton later in his mansion where he laughs as he did in that scene. Cue "My Heart Will Go On". Credits.
Only: carpathia extended, Astor and Guggenheim say goodbye, and rose visits third class. Some of the other scenes exposed the set for being fake. I sometimes think the dining room lovejoy fight maybe should’ve stayed but it’s too much action and makes lovejoy look a villain
They also cut the part where RMS Olympic, Titanic's sister ship. Getting the distress call, as she was 500 miles away from Titanic bound for Southampton.
@@BrandNaz From what I've gather, it's on the forums and fandoms, alongside some unreleased scripts of the film. They cut it due to the fact Olympic had an open promenade deck, while Titanic had a closed one, and they can't use the Titanic set for the aforementioned reasons, probably the reason why it's cut. The Olympic did make a cameo in the film though, with the tickets Jack and his friend got from the game at the start, as during that time, Olympic is more known than Titanic, and somewhat the poster boy/girl of White Star Line.
@@RholynjayLim I just saw the article just now I also read that yes the Olympic scene was gonna use the Titanic set but was deemed too much work for a one minute scene which is understandable but I’d been a real cool scene if added to the film plus it’s a little part of the story that would have give the audience a more interesting reaction
@@BrandNaz It would also give Olympic a minute to shine again, even if it's just a minute or so scene. It would make her a bit famous, as the sister ship of the ill fated Titanic, and it would open people's eyes that there's ships nearby but was too far away and have reasons (Insert the Californian) why it taken so long for Carpathia to arrive.
@@RholynjayLim agreed even tho Olympic is already famous but she would get more recognition if added to the film and people would say “ok Titanic had a twin ship” which is true and it would have people thinking how Olympic and Titanic are different to one another even tho their near identical. And yes indeed it would also tell us the audience that Carpathia isn’t the only ship that hears Titanic distress and coming to her aid One of the things I wish Cameron added was the starboard list 5 minutes after the iceberg collision to the port list as she was sinking and a scene where she goes on a even keel raise up slightly and plunges down even to at that time they didn’t had this information it still be cool and brings more realism to the movie
As well as boarding the ship on D-deck where Rose, her mother, Ruth, and her fiance, Cal along with Dewitt Bakater's maid and Hookey's manservant (from the lost Cal's scene) only pictures after boarding inside the ship, no film...

If you haven't watched the film "A Night to Remember" from 1958, I highly recommend it. You'll notice certain scenes in "Titanic" were borrowed from this movie, intentionally acknowledged by James Cameron himself. "A Night to Remember" prominently showcases the actions of the crew aboard the Californian, highlighting their incompetence and indifference. The film suggests that if the Californian had intervened, more lives could have been saved. While I agree that including scenes of the Californian in James Cameron's Titanic would have disrupted the dramatic focus on the sinking itself, I personally find it intriguing to observe how other ships reacted to the distress signals of the Titanic.
It's a little unfair to be to hard on the crew though. The atmospheric conditions that night messed with the morose lamps making the signals unreadable (assuming they where ever seen at all as the movie depicts) And from what I recall hearing to signal distress you should be firing flares at 1 minute intervals. But Titanic flares was either 5 minute intervals or sporadic. So you can understand how Califorian's crew could have been confused by unclear or nonsensical signals. I have heard it said before that because Titanic's flares didn't match pattern to signal distress, that the Californian took them as company signals. The only thing really incompetent that Californian crew did was not waking up their radio operator just to see if everything was OK. Had they done that, they would of heard Titanic's SOS. Otherwise the Californian not reacting to the flares and such seem to have explanations behind them.
I'm waiting for the OceanGate Re-release on Blu-Ray, 'cos I want the extra footage featuring the OceanGate expedition wreckage, and was hoping Stockton Rush and the Titan crew made a contribution to the 'extras' or 'special features' 😉 📀🎞📺, you know, if he wasn't in to much of a Rush? I did hear that the pressure got to him a little....😥
The mail room scene would have been historically accurate! They really did try to save the mail and even but the wet mail sacks in empty cabins to dry

Yes!!!
Also you missed the extended “morning after” sequence where you can clearly see Collapsible B and it’s famous occupants
Another part about the Molly Brown scene with the iceberg, was that it was found that she was in her cabin reading when titanic stuck the Berg.
Would've given the viewers a glimpse of how really huge that iceberg was. Two titans in the sea... & the sea won.
If you buy the DVD version, it includes the deleted scenes. Also, someone did upload deleted scenes to UA-cam
Really which deleted scenes are included?

I’d say pretty much all of them. Especially the alternate ending. Idk why people hate on it so much.

The reason water was running down the stairs was because Jack and Rose ran toward the back of the ship that was in the air and hadn't yet flooded
As usual, all the scenes that were deleted should have been deleted. Due to pacing, or due to tone.
If they deleted all the Jack and Rose scenes, then they could have used all the deleted content.
