    Great review! Buying "cheap"and customizing to your needs is the right way to do it.

    Very. Very nice Jeep! I like the lift with this 35 tires looks good. all the extras on the back add a lot to a regular Jeep.

    Did you cut all 4 fender flares? I have thought of this idea for a long time but have never seen anyone else do it before! Absolutely love the look of them!

      Yes! I used an air saw. I marked the lines with painters tape and tried to cut as steady as I could. Wasn’t perfect but was good enough for me! And less than buying aftermarket fenders.

    Very nice ride... I went back to a 2005 RUBICON after having a few JKU RUBICONS for pretty much the same reasons you did. For my latest mod I have started a HEMI swap in it. Should be fun.
    My daughter and son in law have a 2002 black Sahara that my soon to be 3 grand daughter absolutely loves to ride in. They keep it topless/doorless all summer.
    Again, really nice what you've done and will follow you along the way.

      That's awesome! Yeah there's just something about the TJ's that makes it more raw and tougher than the JK's. Not that the JK's weren't tough (I've put them to the test and they can handle a lot) but the TJ's have that bulletproof 4.0 straight 6. My brother had that engine out in the desert without water in the radiator and drove it all the way home. Refilled it once he got home and engine runs completely fine! He said any other engine would have bent a rod or something. He's a full-time mechanic.

    Funny, I have a 2004 Rubicon as well and have a total of about $21,000 invested. I built it for easier wheeling such as the Rubicon and the little thing just works. Fun little rigs for sure.

      “Little thing just works”. That sums it up perfectly! I love this Jeep! They’re getting harder and harder to find.

    Good review dude. So many people will criticize what you did or should have done but you did a nice job making it yours. You put out some good detailed information and I hope you have fun in your TJ Rubi. If you're ever in California with it, look me up.

    Nice Jeep!!!! Hey what rear bumper you have holden the Jerry cans?

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 4 місяці тому

      Thanks! It was the OR Fab Tubular Tire carrier. It attaches to the body using super beefy steel plates that bolt to both sides of the body. The bumper was separate and was made by Smittybilt, I think. www.extremeterrain.com/orfab-tubular-tire-carrier-9706-tj.html

    I absolutely love the exhaust sound. Can you please tell me what muffler you are running? Headers? What ever makes it sound like that. I have a red 2004 TJ Rubicon.

      www.amazon.com/MagnaFlow-Exhaust-Products-18135-Muffler/dp/B004RUH5CA Ironically enough I found it via another UA-cam video. Lol. Muffler is the Magnaflow Glasspack muffler. It was around $40 on Amazon. No headers or anything else. Just had a muffler shop cut the old stock muffler out and weld this one in. That set me back around $170. Depends on the labor and time. I love how it sounds! Especially for the money and simplicity. ua-cam.com/video/r9v3GudmOic/v-deo.html

    Looks like a awesome Jeep mate, how you going with the baby seat in the back?

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 5 років тому +1

      I replaced the back seat with a bestop one that has head rests. The child seat is tethered to an anchor point in the floor and it uses the seat belt to secure it as well.

      Hi TASSIE 4X4! You might be out of luck. It's sold by Extreme Terrain.com and it says it's only available for shipping in the US. It's called the OR-Fab Tubular Tire Carrier (97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ). www.extremeterrain.com/orfab-tubular-tire-carrier-9706-tj.html?XT%20Bumpers%20-%20Tire%20Carrier%20and%20Mounts%7COR-Fab&T5_Var4=J127011&intl=0&XTW+Wrangler+Vehicle+Medium+RLSA&dialogtech=ppc&T5_Var2=shopping&gclid=CjwKCAiAhJTyBRAvEiwAln2qB2AAX-xwZlygBqwXRWg2htlIFPaQwsYQjWMqC-JK4TlOMzWEod-7wxoCFZAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    did you have any vibratoin after lift if so how did you fix it, and did you have to adjust anything after 1.25 inch body lift ?

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 4 роки тому

      I didn't have it after just the lift itself but after I put a set of used 35 inch tires with 15 inch steel wheels, I had death wobble that would happen over 45 mph. Once I replaced those with a brand new set of 35 inch BFG KM3'S and 15 inch aluminum wheels, the death wobble disappeared.

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 4 роки тому

      In regards to the 1.25" body lift, no I didn't have to adjust anything more than what they gave in the Zone combo kit for adjusting. It came with motor mount spacers that I substituted Brown Dog Off road motor mounts for and it came with a bracket to move the shaft for the steering wheel, up about and inch.

  • @bonvivant55
    @bonvivant55 3 роки тому +1

    What steering wheel is that, and did it just bolt on?

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 3 роки тому

      It's just the factory steering wheel with a cheap walmart wheel cover that was like $10. Lol. But it worked great! The factory wheel is pretty slim and this gave it some good grip.

    Be prepared to put 5X to 10X what you paid for your Jeep TJ.....

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy 29 днів тому

      I actually sold this a few years ago. Recouped about 15% of the aftermarket parts value, which is to be expected. But I had only about $7900 invested altogether (includes general maintenance items) in this jeep, plus the cost of the Jeep itself. Nowhere near 5 to 10x what I had paid for it. Paid $14,774 with TTL, Dec 2018, Belton, Texas. Sold for $16,000 on carsandbids, May 2021. Basically it cost me $6600 for two and a half years of ownership and tons of great memories! Probably best bang for the buck Jeep I ever owned.
