    I would like more information re: the name of the festival this was presented in. It is fascinating and very important information. It would be great if there were subtitles since it goes quite rapidly and the slides aren't shown for very long so lengthening their time on screen would help. Excellent presentation in all other possible ways.

    Can someone post a link to the research paper? I couldn't find anything after a basic search.
    Also, why did the subjects get up at 2:30-3:00am in the morning to chant? We know that disrupted sleep affects the brain in many ways. Did the control group who didn't chant also wake up at 2:30-3:00am every morning? Also, it would have helped to have another experimental group who simply did breathing exercises which were of the same inhale/exhale cadence as the length of the mantra. For example, breath in 4 seconds, out 8 seconds. Because it's possible many of the benefits of mantras are due to the breathing pattern it naturally forces you into. Personally I believe mantras have power behind them, but I'd like to see better designed studies. Open to changing my mind, though, perhaps the authors thought these things through.

      They got up at that 2:30 - 3 am to get ready by Brahma muhurat which is of greater significance to chant mantras.

      @@4nkit04 That still doesn't address my questions about how the study was designed. It seems a lot of these types of studies are poorly designed. I'm happy to change my mind if that wasn't the case.

    great. but i always believed music has an influence on mind .that is sound and its frequency can make you good or mad too. that way all vedic chants influence our lives. thanks Doctor for the scientific reasoning.

      @Tania Guha Our country has not been able to shine inspite of having such a rich culture, scientific heritage because of so called "Indians" like you who refer to Ayurveda physicians as "only bams" and glorify western medicine, while Ayurveda is becoming much more popular abroad. It's an absolute shame.

      understand the basic differences in two.Shame on you, yourself calling urself a doc and not knowing the difference.Hyppicrite indian.
      Dont you or your family member should ever visit a mbbs md doc .pls follow ur ayurvedic and unani.And if u ever visit them, be thankful that they treated you hypocrite bcoz they believe in humanity more than anything else!

      @dr.aishwaryadeshpande6608 4 роки тому +5

      @@taniaguha9184 I am fully aware of the difference between mbbs and bams. With all due respect,I'm not saying that any pathy is better/worse. But both have a significant importance in treating patients. And what's most important is treating the patient with honesty and with utmost care and patience. In the near future, the day will come when both pathies will be treated equally. What saddens me is that, still some ignorant Indians have lesser pride about the roots of our country. Thankfully, not all "educated" people think the same! In the coming years, Ayurveda will be recognized worldwide, it is already happening, and finally, Indians will realize it's importance. Also, due to the same reason, it is extremely saddening that Switzerland has grabbed the patent for leech therapy, which has originated in India. Turmeric, a herb used in Ayurveda, has been widely recognized by USA and Canada and those countries have grabbed the patent for these medicinal herbs. The Indian lifestyle and food habits are being adapted by the western countries, while we continue to glorify mconalds, domino's, alcohol and frozen imported food. Please note : I do my research before making any statements. And have, and still am working very hard to study both Ayurveda and Allopathy medical science and am fully aware of the benefits and shortcomings of both pathies😊 I don't have a problem that you pointed out the mistake in the video's title. The word "only" that you've used before bams, is really disappointing. Nonetheless, wishing you a good day and life!! Sending you love and light!
