IU is indeed built differently. She actually got the characters back and made a sequel "Above the Time" eight years later to "You & I" MV. If you look carefully, the time machine in the video is set in 2019 when the sequel came out. If you listen closely, you can also hear that IU's approach has evolved over time. She used a lot more head voice nowadays than her early days.
Wow so she planned to do a sequel 8 years later from the start 🤯
@@OGzReacts Not sure if she planned and likely wanted to do so, but certainly decided to do so when she became able to produce her own songs in her career.

Stage video's comment said they went back to their childhood when they listened to that song ㅎㅎㅎ its true for me i was a child at that time and the lyric are touching to imagine the future of becoming an adult ㅋㅋㅋ thanks

yes, you can say IU's music signature in her heyday 2010 - 2012 (imagine how young she was, lol) was orchestral pop. Good Day - You and I - Every End of The Day are orchestral pop. After that we got The Red Shoes (2013), and its mix between orchestral pop and jazz/ swing ...
This song is really in my imaginary circle of type of songs that I adore 😅
Recently buddys told me that gfriend songs are referred to as "orchestrapop", and I kinda felt like this had a similar sound/vibe and I loved it.
Therefore I am looking forward to the others, especially Good Day since my loona bias did sing it a little bit on vlive yesterday including the triple high note which is apparently famous & legendary from IU so yea can't wait for that!
Oh and for the past year or so, I have been enjoying the uniqueness of kpop songs that include jazz elements so a mix of orchestral and jazz?! Count me in!

I think this is the (hidden/ secret) brilliance of IU and GFriend lyrics : bcs both Rough and You and I can be interpreted as self-love song too (double meaning). Read the "you" in lyrics as future version of "I" .
Both GFriend and IU also have songs that connected and continuing this idea/ theme.
Disclaimer : im not saying GF copied IU here. Their song are on differrent vibe and they explored the theme on different way.
