Idea for a video/series: Recommend the best places to eat (maybe one sit down and one street food place?) on the way from one major location to another major location. I sometimes make food spots targets all on their own, but so often the highly recommended places are pretty far from the other things I'm doing in the city. Let's say I'm walking from the NY Public Library near Bryant Park to my 2pm matinee on 43rd street. (this is just one example. You could do TONS of these) What's a place with really good food that I can find easily while walking pretty directly from one to the other?
grocery store haul,,,Yes Please!!! That is something i learned a long time ago. Besides trying out the local street food, the best way to see how an area/region/country's food is, check out the local stores to see how the locals shop and eat.
So glad I found your video! I'm visiting New York for the first time in a little over a week and I'm staying in the Manhattan. Added a few of these spots to eat at on my agenda. Thank you for sharing! I'm so excited!!
We took your advice on a two-day trip to NYC and went to Liberty Bagels. It was soooo good! We wanted to get to more but didn't have time. I look forward to trying more of your recommendations!
When I saw midtown in the video title, I was hoping for some izakaya spots, of which there are many in that area. Still a fun video, but would love to see an izakaya crawl in the future.
yes go back... wish this video came out 3 days sooner cuz i dont wanna go back to nyc anytime soon with how crowded it was, very unenjoyable but your video was dope, thanks TJ =D
Hello Ms Cup. If you come to Flagstaff, Arizona I recommend pizza because pizza is all there is. No video necessary. Thank you for your information on the more complicated NYC.
Omg this video was absolutely amazing TJ 🙌❤️The food in Manhattan is amazing 👌I loved the Japanese grocery shop yes please do a video about it ..The tacos looked DIVINE and the Banh mi roll was yummy I loved the empanadas and bagels too ..I look forward to seeing your videos ,they are always so much fun and your are entertaining hilarious and beautiful and I love your love for food ..x💕🥰❤️😊💋
Aloha from Hawaii TJ. OMG, my wife and I were just in Midtown Manhattan! My wife's little choir was invited to join other choirs for Deke Sharon's Total Vocal concert at Carnegie Hall (shameless plug). It was an unbelievable blast where we all had to pinch ourselves, lol. Anyway, I wish we could have tried Liberty Bagel and Empenada Mama's (I did see that on Yelp). We stayed at the Park Central just kitty corner of Carnegie Hall. A few places we tried that I thought were good and pretty good deals: Angelo's Coal Oven Pizza - good crispy crust loaded pepperoni; UrbanSpace food court - I tried the tonkatsu ramen from Kuro-Obi and my wife tried the pork belly bao from Bao by Kaya - both were good. I liked the selection at UrbanSpace. And of course you can find Halal Bros carts all over the city. I had a falafel gyro from one of them and it was okay - not great but enough to carry me over 'til dinner. Since we were tourists we just HAD to try Katz's Delicatessen down in the lower East side, and Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn.
Everything looks amazing 😍🤤 the coffee may be even better if it is served on beautiful cups instead of paper/plastic cups.. but it looks really delicious. and yes! please be back to the grocery store and try the hot foods.. 🥰 will look forward to it. As a human being who's a big fan of breads and pastriesss.. this video really made hungry..I'm salivating right now. HAHAHAHA. thanks TJ
Lol, "I'm gonna try not to be weird".... Totally relate.... I saw you on the best food review show .... An was like, oh, she seems charming..... Guess I was right!

Thanks for the video. Been to most of these places. They are amazing. Need to check out Katagiri and 10k Coffee. I wonder if 10k Coffee copper drippers are real copper and if they sell them.
I definitely think it would be one of the bagels with the different cream cheeses cuz they all look really good :) Also I love coffee so that would be a big attraction for me 🤗
Yummm... those bagels 🥯 look amazing! OK so this is what I learned about bagels after living in NYC. According to bagel purists, if the bagel is fresh and well made it doesn't need to be toasted and toasting actually affects the texture. Toasting it actually can negate the pleasant soft chew of an expertly made NYC bagel and make the bagel tough/hard. Toasting is supposedly for masking stale or not well made product, many have similar view on fresh artisan bread. Seems weird not toasting a bagel after I have been doing it my whole life but now I have lived and learned and now slightly toast my bagel just to put some warmth in the bread and its the best of both worlds you get the intended bagel soft chew texture and the pleasure of the warm bagel. 😀 ya I've thought way too much about this subject 😅 and yes to onigiri video and Japanese grocery store vid!!
When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we'll see No, I won't be afraid Oh, I won't be afraid Just as long, as you stand Stand Bánh Mì -Ben E. King

I'm born and bred NYC-bagels are made to be toasted or not toasted to preference. There's no hard and fast rule. Source:lived above H&H. lol
I'm a sucker for Japanese store.this reminds me of shirokiya back home in Hawaii.
