I don't think that was a dead vic shooting... that was a .50cal techie north of you. You did hit the misplaced corpse of the dead BTR though. There's been an bug for at least four years where the collision model for a dead vehicle is placed *where it pops* and not where the *visual* model finally comes to rest. So if a vehicle is in motion at the time its HP pool reaches zero, you'll get an invisible corpse where it blew up, and a visible corpse where the vehicle finally hits something or runs out of inertia.
