Thank you so much!!! This is the most straightforward tutorial I have seen for making a custom minimalist map--that didn't take me hours to replicate. Well done!!!
Oh my God... I rarely comment but after this video I just have to! Man, you're so good at teaching and I'm sooo so happy I found this video!! Your tutorial was so clear and easy to follow - thank you so much!
Don't bother doing override opacity crap. Just click the filter icon at the top when youre in the layers section. Type "label" in the filter. Deactivate (hide) everything with the word label in it (at the time of making this comment, the hotkey for hide is "V" once you've selected an item in the menu) If you can't find the filter icon, look at 6:36 up at the top left of the screen. It aays 70/70 next to it. That icon is the filter.
This was insanely helpful, straight forward, and easy to do! Thanks, I have been wanting a map of my hometown for a while but was unwilling to pay $20 for a print lol. I appreciate it!
Really awesome video! Perfectly clear and concise. I have been wanting to do this for a long time now and didn’t know exactly how to do it. Thanks Spencer!
This is one of the most helpful tutorials I've ever seen . and I've seen my fair share of them :). thank you very much. I hope you have a talent for teaching.
Wow.. You literally save me today.. I have to make presentation for my resort in valencia.. And i was looking for the way to port map in illustrator.. Thanks for the detailed video.. 💕✨
Thank you for the video. I am trying to make a poster for a gift to my friend but I don't want to buy it on Etsy. Also, it's more precious when I make it myself
im having hard time finding any legal/agreements over how far can we use the maps. Do you have any clue about selling artprints based on the maps we create from Artbox?, thanks
When creating an account I have to fill in credit card information, but I don't have one. Is there another way to use mapbox? Or is there another similar website?
I was about to make my maps and sell these on Etsy etc but unfortunately, that is not possible right? Are there other possibilities where I can make use of my map-making skills for profit cuz getting a hospitality job in this day of age is nearly impossible
Thank you for this video!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this so I can make a family member a wedding gift and this is exactly what I needed!!
you all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my account password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Jeremiah Misael thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Super helpful! Thank you!! Can you show a quick tutorial on how you made that text box? Loving the horizontal line, but I’m a first time Ai user and a little lost on adding text. Thanks!
Thank you. That is an interesting video and method of working. The only remark I have is that you could have done it in Photoshop or InDesign as it is not vector graphics. Sometimes illustrator makes the file heavier and might not be the best choice for sending a poster to print, unless it's a vector image.
This was a great tutorial! Very clear and understandable. I’m having trouble at the ‘print’ stage. After entering the same dimensions, it comes up with Print Export Error? Im not sure how to fix this?
So this Mapbox software which is apparently used to make these map posters with Illustrator - how can I know if it's free for commercial use for an Etsy shop? I can't figure it out from their website, only if it's a mobile app or something because they count by users or something. This stuff always gets sooo confusing when I get into the specifics, and no one ever cover the specifics in YT videos. So I always end up giving up because I'm too scared to violate copyright laws etc.
This video is precious, love it. Thank you. Do you happen to know how to make a template file of this? Like in the same style of the Star-map constellation posters.. :(
Same question : I guess I will win a trofee with the simplest question of the month of June: I want to show all the buildings in my little village (fill in black color). I see them when I zoom in to the village (zoom=16), but when i zoom out, to 14 or 12, i lost the buildings and can't see them anymore. There must be a simple solution for it. But unfortunately I can't find it. Do you know how I can see the buildings while I zoom out the map? :) Pleaaase can you answer :( thank you
Hello! I just stumbled on this. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I have followed your instructions and so far, haven’t had any problems but I can’t download it. It keeps saying print export errored. Might this be because I am doing it on a MAC? Thanks
Anyone know if you can print this as a photo? The size I want to print is only available in photo but not poster...or is there a place you recommend printing?
Awesome. Have been looking for a site where I could make different color maps to print. Could find ANYTHING that was fir art, not cartographers or engineers.
Thank you so much!!! This is the most straightforward tutorial I have seen for making a custom minimalist map--that didn't take me hours to replicate. Well done!!!
I rarely comment, but this video did exactly what it was supposed to do, clear and compelling explanation and an all-around very well made tutorial.
Too cool. I started your video and was following side by side making a map of where my partner and I first met... in San Antonio!
Super helpful vid!
This was a great tutorial. I love how you stick to the steps and it is very easy to follow your style of teaching. You should do more videos!

You don't need to click the "+" -- just click anywhere on the menu item. Small thing but its a mild QOL increase imo.
This was insanely helpful, straight forward, and easy to do! Thanks, I have been wanting a map of my hometown for a while but was unwilling to pay $20 for a print lol. I appreciate it!
I don't understand. Mapbox is not free and requires my card details?

When creating an account I have to fill in credit card information, but I don't have one. Is there another way to use mapbox? Or is there another similar website?
Is there a way to add topography to this somehow?

How do I zoom/crop in?
Tried exporting the map. But it keeps failing. Any suggestions?
Any idea of the copyright status of map posters made using this method? Can they be sold?
