This is the kind of car that will change mobility, not £50k cars!
Unfortunately impossible in Europe or the US due to safety regulations.
@@shroomyesc The Dacia Spring is pretty similar, though is a little bit more of a real full usable car. The Spring is bigger and has more power. It isn‘t that cheap, but after state discount it costs only about 16.000 Euros (already including 19% sales tax).
@@shroomyesc in Europe we have the vehicle class L7e for these types of cars. I hope the market grows and the cars become more affordable.
EDIT: examples for cars of the class L7e are the Microlino, the X-Bus and the city transformer, if someone is interested in looking them up.
Off course the 50k EV will change mobility... you wont afford it plus another 70% of the population, so less traffic for the rich and less travel for you ... get it ?
@@TobiasHinz1992 Unfortunately cars like this Changan are too heavy to fit into L7e, since they aren't designed with that in mind like the Ami, Microlino etc are.
People are commenting that mini EVs can't meet US/EU safety regulations. Meanwhile....motorcycles are accepted with zero safety regulations. 🤯
Love seeing the development of small EVs that are actually affordable to the regular person. I hope some of the 'old guard' take notice and do more like this and not more big, lumpy, bland SUBs.
Unfortunately impossible in Europe or the US due to safety regulations.
@@shroomyesc The Honda E is small and sold here, so they can make small EVs that can run more than 80 mile range, they just don't want too. I'll keep my Fiesta as long as I can I don't want or need a stupid SUV
@@CRhodesDesign the Honda E weights 1,6 tons
@@CRhodesDesign Yes the Honda E is small, but it's double the weight, triple the price and 60cm longer compared to this Changan. So it's not as small and nowhere near as cheap. Of course Honda E/Mini SE etc size cars are possible, but not the price of this Changan. Dacia Spring also had to go through extensive redesigning under the skin to be allowed on the European market and it tripled the price in that process compared to it's Chinese market base car.
We need all those cars in Europe without any fees or taxes.
Depends on the international relations in between
I'm surprised the perfomence version has a range of 301km, which is really good for a tiny little car. It means that you wouldn't be too worried about being stranded on road if you live in a huge metropolis like Shanghai.
The trouble is that this kind of car in Shanghai can‘’t get new energy photos.🤣
@@dai284381746 In suburban area, where home charging is more covenient, license are still available for mini EV
Wish Changan will bring that to the Philippines w/o excessive price bump
doug demuro just reviewed the old byd Han. I think its time that we introduce wheelsboy to him, to get him prepared for future Chinese cars (if that's ever gonna happen)
Chinese mini ev cars are so cute! The first one I heard of was the Geely Panda Mini, and of course that was compared to the Wuling mini too, and then I heard about the Lumin! The lights are so adorable on the Lumin! Would love to get my hands on one of these cars here in the USA someday lol
8+ hours charging time on the cheap ones as they do not support fast charging
Looks much better than the Wuling in terms of design.
Amazing how these cars can manage a cheap and cheerful looking interior, whereas the “cheap” cars here in the US just look and feel cheap. Or, more like absolute garbage. Recently drove a Nissan Versa, which as it was equipped, was nearly 3x as expensive and it felt like a trash can with 4 tires and powered by a chainsaw.
Gosh that is one CUTE car! The Wuling AirEV is sold in my country Indonesia for around $20,000 (yay...) Would love to see some competition here
They have 400km range though
well. this is what we need for the daily drive in a small city.
车轮哥的英语讲的非常好😜
That's a surprising amount of range for such a small car. I can drive a full lap of Sydney with that range
These are the types of car I'm interested in. I don't care about a 30+k car. The miniEV will probably stay king because of price. People are drawn to 5k prices
Great review! My favorite moment is when you call the Wuling MiniEv the "little elephant in the room". 😂😂
Very tiny elephant 😂
cute and charming. wish we had small cars here in the US
need this 🐌😍 exactly how it is, with the same stickers!
Those remind me of 4th generation Camaro back seats. You sit low in a bucket shaped seat, so your legs are very bent and take less space.
I love the looks of this thing.
A refreshing and enjoyable change to the usual electric reviews.
Great video as usual. Just a slight suggestion to lower the volume of the music as sometimes your voice is quieter than the music.
I wish we could get these in Canada.
Ugh this trade sh*t, ahhhh!!!
no ,this car will seriously endanger the national security of the United States.
@@jiaowoaguoyeah the US will force allies not to allow them in, same strategy as gang turf wars. Who cares about climate change or global warming
It would be interesting to see models like these in Europe, but the larger Renault K-ZE had to be redesigned so heavily under the skin to match European regulations that by the time it came here as the Dacia Spring, the price had almost tripled. These could pass as heavy quadricycles instead to skip all the safety regulation (like Twizy or Ami), but they're too heavy for that too.
Beautiful to look at ❤
I guess they know their market with these things but I swear they should build backseat-less versions for single people or couples without kids. The storage would suddenly be WOW. Also, if necessary, take the savings of the backseat and make sure the front seats are crazy comfortable.
I love this little Car ! Looks Pretty, i dont need more. But where i can buy in Europe ? Greetings from Austria
And all we get in The Netherlands as 'cheap' EV's is a Dacia Spring. For 24,000 US dollar!
Cute styling.
It's a great product.... 🎉 The future!!
Thanks, good item. This should be done more. Nice cars these small Chinese EV's.
Just cheap smaller EV's that average people can buy. Or even a little above this size. Between the $7.000 and $30.000
Many of us never need an EV's with 4 doors (or even many times 4 seats) and prices above €25.000. And 320km range is more than enough for 99% of the trips.
And he, why does it have to be below 8 sec from 0 to 100kmh?
Can it be just fun, and economical please? Or small 2-seater coupé's and cabrio's. (I think i saw a cabrio version of the Lumin.)
Make more EV's around this size and around the €15.000 and €20.000. (With fast charge and a 40 to 45kWh battery)
There are already countless boring EV's in the MPV and sedan class for €45.000 and above.
You would think with cars like that they wouldn't want to screw up market share.
Cool car
Such a cool little car
Perfect EV for the Young Girls to School and fir their First Job in life 👍few Dallars
This needs to be in Europe, yesterday!
and no, fast charging architecture will not necessarily make it more expensive. It does not. It's an executive decision. At most for rapid charging there must be some cooling management and dynamic charge rate control, which is just software in the charger inverter. Back in the days of the early Nissan LEAFs a CHAdeMO fast charge port were a $500 extra.
DC fast charging, or even 11kW-22kW 3-phase AC charging are fully capable and have been used in more entry-level EVs like the Smart ForTwo and Renault ZOE while still offering a fast charge rate that can fill a battery in well less than an hour.
With such a cute look, perhaps even road-rage warriors sharing the street might lower their temperature.
Greetings from China
Affordable and simple EV. 👍👍
I wonder if there will be a mini sports car about mx5 size ? Great review btw 🎉
The Leap Motors S01 might be what you're looking for
@@proxythe1337 will check it out
MG cyberster
@@atlas_x150 Nice 👌
in India they are priced 50% higher, wont sell much because cheaper petrol cars are avalaible.
When is it coming to Europe?
Never. The larger Renault K-ZE had to be redesigned so heavily under the skin to match European regulations that by the time it came here as the Dacia Spring, the price had almost tripled. These could pass as heavy quadricycles instead to skip all the safety regulation (like Twizy or Ami), but they're too heavy for that.
Is it a legal street car in US?
Tbh, I like it. I want one . 8000 ? Np.
Wish it had fast charging
Smart killer
Can u drift that?
A very fun car
Segaments of your clip sound much louder than the rest.
My boy is looking rough. I feel bad for you just like I feel bad for Bart baker.
I like it.

Wait. Where the fanny pack?
😍😍😍😍
💚💚💚💚
Great little car is like a big toy
4:14 "There is no park only Neutral and handbrake like you would have it on a Manual" spoken like someone who has never driven a manual... You usually put the car in 1st and pull the handbrake whoever leaves a manual in neutral when parking really hopes their car rolls when the handbrake fails...
Wulin Bingo is way better imo.
you can afford one if you are given a dollar for each time you said mini ev😂
Funny face.. like it had a hash cake
The Lumin put such a grin on Jinping's face ..that he gifted one to Vladimir on his recent visit . So Vlad can now drive to his horse...and the Front maybe.
🌽
Android Auto? CarPlay?
No and no.
It screams kitch
Why is this car's front flirting with me every time I look at it? 😏
your voice is hard to hear :) maybe use a wireless mic next time
Front part is a dumb copy of the new 'Fiat 500 e', ...interior is o.k.
Looks more like a toy that breaks apart after six months of use....
Bruh
The leader of the country you claim so many great things about just said today that he has a similar mindset to Vladimir Putin. Let that sink in
Mao Zedong would be ashamed
a manual handbreak on not just a 2023 car but a ev...how stupid lol
electric mirrors but manual handbrake - epic fail design 🤦🏻♂️
I'd rather have a manual handbrake than an electric one.
@@BubbaBearsFriend why lol thats just backwards
@2:06 It's larger than the MiniEV, both in length and width though it is slightly shorter 🤔🧐🥸
Shorter in terms of height, sorry that wasn't clear. I used my hands to indicate the height, but my editor used b-roll at that moment, so you couldn't see it...
