@@shroomyesc The Dacia Spring is pretty similar, though is a little bit more of a real full usable car. The Spring is bigger and has more power. It isn‘t that cheap, but after state discount it costs only about 16.000 Euros (already including 19% sales tax).

@@TobiasHinz1992 Unfortunately cars like this Changan are too heavy to fit into L7e, since they aren't designed with that in mind like the Ami, Microlino etc are.

I'm surprised the perfomence version has a range of 301km, which is really good for a tiny little car. It means that you wouldn't be too worried about being stranded on road if you live in a huge metropolis like Shanghai.
doug demuro just reviewed the old byd Han. I think its time that we introduce wheelsboy to him, to get him prepared for future Chinese cars (if that's ever gonna happen)
Amazing how these cars can manage a cheap and cheerful looking interior, whereas the “cheap” cars here in the US just look and feel cheap. Or, more like absolute garbage. Recently drove a Nissan Versa, which as it was equipped, was nearly 3x as expensive and it felt like a trash can with 4 tires and powered by a chainsaw.
These are the types of car I'm interested in. I don't care about a 30+k car. The miniEV will probably stay king because of price. People are drawn to 5k prices
Thanks, good item. This should be done more. Nice cars these small Chinese EV's. Just cheap smaller EV's that average people can buy. Or even a little above this size. Between the $7.000 and $30.000 Many of us never need an EV's with 4 doors (or even many times 4 seats) and prices above €25.000. And 320km range is more than enough for 99% of the trips. And he, why does it have to be below 8 sec from 0 to 100kmh? Can it be just fun, and economical please? Or small 2-seater coupé's and cabrio's. (I think i saw a cabrio version of the Lumin.) Make more EV's around this size and around the €15.000 and €20.000. (With fast charge and a 40 to 45kWh battery) There are already countless boring EV's in the MPV and sedan class for €45.000 and above.
Never. The larger Renault K-ZE had to be redesigned so heavily under the skin to match European regulations that by the time it came here as the Dacia Spring, the price had almost tripled. These could pass as heavy quadricycles instead to skip all the safety regulation (like Twizy or Ami), but they're too heavy for that.

I guess they know their market with these things but I swear they should build backseat-less versions for single people or couples without kids. The storage would suddenly be WOW. Also, if necessary, take the savings of the backseat and make sure the front seats are crazy comfortable.
and no, fast charging architecture will not necessarily make it more expensive. It does not. It's an executive decision. At most for rapid charging there must be some cooling management and dynamic charge rate control, which is just software in the charger inverter. Back in the days of the early Nissan LEAFs a CHAdeMO fast charge port were a $500 extra. DC fast charging, or even 11kW-22kW 3-phase AC charging are fully capable and have been used in more entry-level EVs like the Smart ForTwo and Renault ZOE while still offering a fast charge rate that can fill a battery in well less than an hour.
I think they don't include torque specs because it should be calculable using known variables. The important thing is that your review is tending toward negative so that spec is unnecessary.
