    You said that null termination is required for a function to recall a given data correctly from memory; then why doesnt the single character have null termination ?
    Sorry if that's too lame :\

      Remember that a nul character is simply one way to solve the problem of telling the computer when to stop. When you use %c the processor is told to read only one character. %c contains instructions to read just one character and then stop.

      Thanks for the reply. I had that figured out probably sometime in 2O13. Thanks for reminding me how it all began with this course of Carl herlod. Now I am fluent in c,c++,java and currently learning python.
