Hello 👋 I did not move to Italy with a pet however, I have heard different stories of people moving to Italy with their pets. Some people have taken the rotor plane with their pets and some have had to fly commercial with their animals. I've even met a couple who moved here without their pets, found a home, and took a cruise back to the States to fly back to Italy with their dogs. Needless to say, moving overseas with an animal comes with its fair share of obstacles. However, despite the challenges, people figure out how to bring their fur babies.
Although I did not move here with an animal, I have heard that pets must have a pet visa to be here, so keep that in mind as you prepare to move.
