I just love how MIck Harvery never lost his nice, totally clean, guy image through the entirety of his musical career, despite being involved with some seriously dark and aggressive acts.

The psychotic Yosser Hughes stare and cowboy gear is straight out of David Lynchs Blue Velvet. The pelvic thrusting in the leather kecks absolutely seminal. There will never be an artist like Tracy Pew ever again totally unique and gone far to early. RIP Tracy.

Yosser Hughes!!! PMSL!!! I think you'll have to explain who that is for non-UK readers...Bernard Hill, probably best known to international audiences for playing the captain in Titanic, and Theoden from LOTR: Return Of The King, and the final film. "GISSA JOB!"

Tracy suffered a epileptic attack in 86 if im correct after being clean from heroin and booze. He was in the shower and just like that it happened and he hit his head so many times in the bath tub that he bled out. But in the shows in a drug frenzy he just went nuts, he never jumped or anything( for what i'ved read) he would throw himself back and just give in to the music. RIP Tracy. Hell of a fuckin' tone always.

I was 16 when I saw this on TV, one quiet Sunday night on prime time (!) in The Netherlands. I knew the band so the music was not new to me but the performance itself was a statement that is unique in the history of prime time TV to this day. Provocative, dirty, aggressive, druggy, dangerous, downright scary: cool as fuck. This night I learned there was no sexier bass than a Rickenbacker. I bought one myself later though I never masturbated inside a kick drum :-)

He handed me the mic, and I started spewing whatever lysergic razzmatazz flying through my brain at that moment. His eyes got wider and wider and he slowly attempted to pull the microphone away from me, growing almost desperate in his efforts. Needless to say, I scared the shit out of David Yow. I doubt I would’ve even gotten close to the microphone in Nick Cave’s hands in his Birthday Party pomp.
