Some lovely looking pools and runs on your rivers Matt. Maybe next year I will come to Skye in late September to try for a salmon instead of earlier in the season. Great bit of footage again. Thanks for uploading!
Cheers Mike, no worries I can be contacted if needed, but yes it’s worth a cast, granted it needs water like all the rivers, but it’s a nice river and quite small and nice varied water. The odd occasion my son comes along, we’d usually go here. I think I’ve one last salmon video and then I’ve some bits and pieces from loch fishing earlier season. All the best 👍
Beautiful small rivers you have there at least you know if there is a fish there you are covering them. Lovely brownies they seem very dark from that river i find it fascinating how they vary for river to river in their markings and colours.
Cheers, yes I really like this river and done reasonably ok over the yrs, usually feel there’s a chance of a fish but as with all the waters, the runs are small now compared to years gone by. Lots of brownies in it, yes they are very dark, often in the rivers like this they are, it’s more peaty and coloured than some others, maybe that affects it. Yes, there is a lot of variety within the species. All the best 👍
Hi. This river we have access to through the local fishing club, as with many of the places I fish, some are member only rivers/lochs but many we do day tickets for visitors as well. All the best 👍
No, it’s not that, it is a club river that can be fished on day ticket, that is a private river members get some access to. I don’t tend to mention names of rivers for various reasons that I think most, if not all people, will understand, but the club/myself can be contacted as explained in the description.
No, I don’t use barbless flies but thinking of changing to them next season. I have heard sometimes they can go completely through and cause issues, but I guess the pros outweigh the cons. The hook wasn’t ‘ripped out’, how do you find using barbless hooks?
Maybe you should watch some of his earlier videos, salmon fishing isn't always successful to put it mildly. A shame you didn't notice the magnificent scenery?
Can't win em all! 😂
It's been a pleasure following your 2023 sea trout and salmon season, mate!

Are you fishing the varragill river

Do you use barbless hooks? Sounded like the hook was ripped out of the brownie.

Tbh your Fannie around too much and taking tiddlers out of a 2ft river is beyond me
