Back in late 2020 I bought an Xbox 360 from a Salvation Army in box. The condition of the box had its weres, but the condition of the console was basically brand new, wrapped in plastic, no dust or scratches, the same sticker that console 68 had was over the disc tray, even the wires still had their twist ties, but it didn't come with a controller. Once I bought a controller from a pawn shop, I set it up to make sure it worked, it started up like it was brand new, no profiles, just the initial set up. Best $80+ spent once I got the offical hard drive. Still use it to play OG and 360 games I come across.
14:17 I had this same Xbox and my dad always bought the cheapest one possible so I had the one with no hard drive and only 4gb internal storage to work with (such an oversight on Microsoft's behalf). I was 12 at the time and found an old hard drive on the literal street walking home from school, grabbed a screw driver and basically tore it out of its larger external casing until it was practically naked before jerry-rigging two styrofoam pieces on each side of it in the 360 HDD port to make it fit snug. I was wholeheartedly winging it and did it all with such a minimal understanding but when I booted it up, I was absolutely over the moon to see I had gained an extra like 30gb of storage and was finally able to bypass the "unable to download: no hard drive" issue I ran into in so many games back then.

I have a old dashboard one also.. Bought a couple of 360s back in the year 2006, one I didn't touch because the drive was missing. And back then I didn't know you needed the drive, so it was useless to me back then.. A couple of years ago on a cold winter day I came across the Xbox360 in a box, so I decided to JTAG(so without a chip) it so it can run backups from a harddisk. :D It still works in 2023 with a 500GB harddisk and a lot of games. The video out, even without the HDMI, is full-HD. On the original cable there's a switch where you can set it to HD and with the component out it is full HD (In Europe it is, I don't know about other regions). So you can do a JTAG on the first one also! It's pretty cool, even now in 2023.
Yeah, the US ones had that same cable. AV plus component, with a little switch to change modes. The console restarts if you flick the switch while it's running lol.

Okay so I am not seeing anything. XGC was a community of gamers called xile gaming community. They was a call of duty group and I was in it for a long time.
It's crazy to me how nasty and dirty some people's consoles can get. I dont think I've ever properly cleaned a console in my life, maybe wipe the dust off every few months. I had 6 brothers, constantly moved my console all over the house, brought it to friends houses, loose, out of the box, and besides a little dust my consoles have always been clean. It's not wven something you need to take care of besides dust inside, you plug it in and it sits there. You would have to try to make them that dirty or dusty or scratched
I love these videos the most! The Xbox 360 was iconic and it’s only been on the rise in retro gaming. You don’t find much nostalgia like this on the PS3, all these accounts, gamerscore, the games, the avatars, the messages, the bios, the songs and the dashboards were the best! The Xbox 360 is my all time favourite, thanks for sharing this nostalgia.

Not sure if it's for dramatization. Just use a air compressor, and lightly go over the consoles outdoors. So there's less complaining, and more going over the consoles. Not sure why anyone would work on a dirty piece of tech, then complain about the dirt.
God i miss this era. I Had 3 xbox 360s. Original phat, no hdmi, then the jasper with hdmi and later i bought a slim. The slim power supply broke in 2 months or so from the little fan just straight up dying in there, that they added, but fortunately you could buy and adaptor to use the OG ones on there. (10:00) I'm fairly certain I left the disc drive warning sticker on my Xbox 360 E back when I had it in 2014 and didn't peel it off. On a side note, I checked the archived listing on my Carousell profile from when I sold it off, and I listed it for sale for $220 (SGD back in 2014) but was also willing to trade it for a Wii U. The listing had been posted so long ago that I can't view chats from back then but I'm certain I sold the whole lot for $180 or thereabouts.

Bro I'm just as baffled as you with the Xenon, literally same situation. The only Xenon in the lot I got actually worked. I am kind of leaning towards to at least open it up, clean it, and replace thermal paste.
Jacob right here summarised my reaction to finding a Blades Falcon in the wild. Like seriously, I had ZERO IDEA I'd hit a Blades Falcon, on the same dash, with all cables and a headset bonus! I still have the unit although I took the greater liberty to JTAG it (which is even more rare in itself) so I can downgrade back to stock Blades at my own will :) (currently on 17559 but as I said, it can freely go back to 6717 as I disabled the fuse burning circuit.) I do agree that you should open the Xenon up. I know these tend to die so better prolong its life with some new thermal paste and a dust-off.
I imagine a jail broken console can use the blades dashboard at will. You seem to try to preserve it because of how much others have liked it when recollecting history and not because of any actual benefit.
As someone that only has a xbox 360 amd not a xbox one or x or s or whatever they call em. But i play bo1 daily and have for 10 years... My console still looks like it came out of the factory. A 2012 model and not a speck of dust. Takw care of your stuff and clean it regularly and itll last forever. And always have thermal paste on hand.

@@Climacticc_Chaos Neat! I guess they wanted it to feel the least outdated possible during the console's "lifetime"
20:12 XGC as others have hinted at is "Xiled Gaming" they were large all the way back in the early Halo and COD days and were founded by a few that left KSI. Originally XGC stood for Xiled Gaming Company. That was the combining of Xiled Kings division in KSI and Easy Company.
Yea seeing that brought back old memories I was in Section 8. I just logged into my account and trying to touch base with some old friends.
@@TIDK88 I was PMS/H2O NA Halo divison. I was, at one time, practice captain, practice manager, recruitment manager, and community manager. Basically I did everything except the job of platform(Xbox, PC), game(division) leader/co-leader, and clan administration.
8:10 Listening to Franklin and Lamar's banter in the first few minutes of the game could easily lead to turning it off for good. Especially if a parent was in hearing range
I'm British and that Xbox bio is funny asf. On the mic there would always be trash talk between British and Americans 😂
Fun fact about those "demos", you were able to flip a single bit and play the full game!
1:28 - God I miss blades. It was fast, easy, and unique.
Fix the blades dashboard Xbox360. Better than putting it on a shelf and never play it again. Would be cool for someone's retro game consoles collection
Watching this video makes me appreciate my xbox 360 even more. I love watching these, and the blades dashboard was the coolest one I've ever seen.
Going through old xbox 360 profiles like this was freakin awesome, holy crap it took me back.
I still have my 360 that I used for years, with my profile that I have around 60k gamerscore on too. I def need to plug it in and check it out.
I wish you could find a Fatback PS3, they are so nice to have the backward compatibility in them.
Hey the X360 I gave to Goodwill is in this video. When I bought the Xbox 360 e, I took the sticker off. But yea that blades dashboard 360 was mine that I gave to Good Will
@ 1:43 if you havent played Hexic you should, its a puzzle game created by Alexey Pajitnov the creator of Tetris.
Back in the 360 days achievements were such an accomplishment. I remember having a blast 100% halo, finding all the skulls. Forza MS 2 was incredible. Shadow run. Army of 2. Battle field Bad Company. The games were gold. Haven’t enjoyed or even played played a game like that since then. OldSchool RuneScape is the only game that scratches the achievement itch for me anymore.
never forget when i lost my 50k gamerscore profile because windows updated and my dad linked it to his email or something
6:47 You can definitely tell GameStop “refurbished” that hard drive because they sanded that puppy down with a magic eraser lol.
Just wanted to say that Jacob R and Smokin Silicon are probably my two favorite YT channels recently, keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching! Smokin' Silicon content is pretty sparse right now, since we're posting so much here, but we'll be back to 2 times a week once we hit 2024
Sounds like he's pricing these according to how well you're listening to him...definitely some Crazy Eddie deals in this lot, if you're paying attention to the inspection/review of each one
Imagine making a mine craft world and then some guy on UA-cam finds it in a 360 hard drive
No wonder you hit the jackpot on that console with the games, that's the clan leader's console
Based pfp
@@user9267 heck yeah, doodled for me by a person I now despise, but hey it looks good and I'm not letting them take that from me 💀
Please make a video where you actually show the entire process of you fixing the blaze consol. I love watching build, referb & maintenance videos.
Sometimes the storage devices take 5-10 minutes to load. It depends on how big the storage is.
If it’s taking 5-10 minutes to load, it’s got an issue.
@@jrob0021 Jeepers. All of my storage devices are like that.
@@benjaminA.stantonpun I've never had a storage device take longer than a minute to load
@@jrob0021 I used to think 5-10 minutes was a short time to wait. The longest it ever took to fully read the data was 3 hours. It said 0kb all over until then.
If you have a lot of games on the hard drive, it can slow the drive down, as the OS needs room to cache files while games are loading.
This is a great video, just like always! All of your videos lately have been really nostalgic seeing all these older consoles. I actually still have an Xbox 360 that I play on sometimes. I loved the Texas Load series, and I think the Hampton Haul series is a really good replacement. Your videos are honestly some of my favorite videos on UA-cam. It’s really cool and nostalgic seeing these older consoles. Keep up the great work 👍😊
the blade dashboard was so much better than basically every version of Xbox UI MS has released since.
0:18 Ummm, what do bugs smell like 🤔🤨
Okay so I am not seeing anything. XGC was a community of gamers called xile gaming community. They was a call of duty group and I was in it for a long time.
Xbox's with a manufacturing date in the later stages of 2008 would still ship with blades, it's not that big of a deal.
Pro Skater HD on the Slim @ 26:55 is a score.
Incredible... Blades in a Goodwill XBOX 360! Greatest haul ever!
I don’t think Xbox will ever top the 360’s legacy
Lmao what ps3 has all of those things? An old ps3 would bring hella nostalgia. My uncle would upload photos and music to his
@@562.anthony2 Onviously but I was comparing the two… duh. Most PS3s don’t have anything on them pre owned, whereas Xbox 360 is full of it. Even the dashboards are crazy, PS3s has pretty much been the same forever
and i still only plaued XBOX not xbox one xbox 360 or this new one thats ALSO just called "Xbox" no Xbox 2003/2006 Xbox.
I feel like it is because sony is just so standard. controllers always look the same. Menus all look the same. It is just so standard.
Where as, if you look at the old blades dashboard, man is that a throwback compared to NXE going forward.
Downloading that many demos is something I still do on my switch to this day lol.
The blade dashboard was clearly the better dashboard IMO, but didnt allow as much advertising as microsoft wanted.
4:39 Nice! This Xbox has BYOB, that is my favorite song by System of a Down :)
Do u have build a bear workshop the game factory ds ?
My favorite demo will forever be Cloning Clyde. Such a gem.
Love your content man, not only is it nostalgic but your style of content which is very down to earth and not edited to heck is a real nice change of pace. Keep it up bro
I remember booting up the Skate demo over and over cause you could free skate for 30 mins if you hurried up and did the challenges
The listing had been posted so long ago that I can't view chats from back then but I'm certain I sold the whole lot for $180 or thereabouts.
dont know why!!
But i got so happy watching this(most so 13:38 when the 1st xbox BOX shows up)Yes i missed the whole xbox "craze myself"i was a Playstation+amiga nerd instead so might be that is why i was happy to se what i missed back when i was way younger then i am now!!!
Thanks 4 video
What i like about your videos man is straight to the point keep it up
Bro I'm just as baffled as you with the Xenon, literally same situation. The only Xenon in the lot I got actually worked. I am kind of leaning towards to at least open it up, clean it, and replace thermal paste.
how the hell does that first xbox's first profile have an Avatar gamerpic, that wasn't a feature until post blades.
Lmfaaao he guessed the "lock"😂😂
if blades dash is
I purchased a ps4 slim for parts on goodwillfinds and everything works and on top of that it was on firmware 8.50 updated it to 9.00 and jailbroke it
I haven't seen a game console turn up at my area Goodwill's in years. Was told they trash anything with a HDD in it.
Honestly these videos have become my new favorite things to watch
Jacob right here summarised my reaction to finding a Blades Falcon in the wild.
Like seriously, I had ZERO IDEA I'd hit a Blades Falcon, on the same dash, with all cables and a headset bonus!
I still have the unit although I took the greater liberty to JTAG it (which is even more rare in itself) so I can downgrade back to stock Blades at my own will :) (currently on 17559 but as I said, it can freely go back to 6717 as I disabled the fuse burning circuit.)
I do agree that you should open the Xenon up. I know these tend to die so better prolong its life with some new thermal paste and a dust-off.
"Dude, GT5, let's go baby" rofl every time.
Love seeing your reaction when you find a game 🙂
I imagine a jail broken console can use the blades dashboard at will. You seem to try to preserve it because of how much others have liked it when recollecting history and not because of any actual benefit.
As someone that only has a xbox 360 amd not a xbox one or x or s or whatever they call em. But i play bo1 daily and have for 10 years... My console still looks like it came out of the factory. A 2012 model and not a speck of dust. Takw care of your stuff and clean it regularly and itll last forever. And always have thermal paste on hand.
Hit the jackpot bruh! 24 full games some of them no longer available. F ing cash all day
11:08 the internal storage was dying on my dads a week after the Xbox one came out so we traded it into Best Buy and moved on with our lives.
is there any way to turn off the stuff that pops up at the end? it covered up the profit for the last console, and the total profit for the episode. ugh
Modded UA-cam or just watch on browser and install extension to block the overlay
That og 360 menu brings back memories
I so badly want to have N+ on my current console, seeing that game is a blast from the past
i feel like the person that played games in 2021 started playing during covid when they where bored and couldnt go out. i imagine this as a reintroduction to gaming
4:41 seems this person liked some System Of A Down!! 🤘🔥
I took that sticker off mine when the laminate started peeling got annoying but now i have one that still has it in 8/10 condition
I remember back in 2006, my husband really wanted a Wii for Christmas. I searched everywhere and had my mother in-law and father in-law looking out for one. My father in-law worked for a very big supermarket which sells electronics. He called me around 3 am (he worked nights) and said I need to get there at 6am. And that's what I did. I couldn't resist it though, I asked my hubby to open his present early .. I wanted to see his face. Good times❤
18:04 That's not Abi Shop, but A Bishop. 😆
I'd load up Halo 3 on that Blades dashboard 360, see if any forge maps or anything are on there
I typed this before I saw the rest, I'd load up Halo 3 AFTER replacing the disc drive lol
With the 360 that has 320gb hard drive, I noticed a delisted game on the hard drive. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. Might not want to wipe the drive cause of that!
lol the Command And Conquer Trailer.... The best days
Love binging these videos, thanks for pushing out the great content! Looking forward for more to come.
Wasn't the "all in one" on the first guys gamertag for when you first set up your account? I think on the blades it asked you what kinda gamer you are or your play style preferences so if you saw someone's profile who was into shooters you could add them.
I might be wrong, anyone else remember that?
Just looked over at my 360 elite console... yea that stickers still there hahaha
Hahaha
That’s the problems with these kind of people buying and selling consoles. He knocks the dust of them and turns them on and say yep it works. The issue with the 360s don’t show up till you have played them for a good hour sometimes.
