You pretty much summed up my thoughts on when I first opened Logic about 2 hours ago hahaha I am planning on watching the whole series and beyond, thank you for creating such great resources for beginners like me :)
I've begun dabbling with Logic Pro X in the last few weeks on a music project. I have an audio interface on it's way along with a mic, so began searching for some tutorials. Came across yours and they are incredibly helpful and fairly straight forward for a beginner like me. Have subscribed. Thanks!
Thanks for all your hard work. Really appreciate it. I am in the process of helping my son move from Logic Express 8 to Logic Pro X. I'm hoping I can convince him to watch your introduction video, but if not, at least I'll be able help him get started.
Thanks so much for this amazing, amazing series of Logic Pro X tutorials. The package is enormous and your information is so helpful! It has saved us hours of hard slog. Cheers Mate from Glenn & Dave.
Well, now I feel like an idiot. I've spent the last 6 months frustrated because I spent 200 dollars on what felt like a glorified garageband and was missing all the supposed features that logic was well known for only to realize I didn't have my advanced tools turned on. Thank you for the video, maybe now i'll actually start making some kind of progress with production
Slightly off topic question. I'm savvy with Macs and know Logic inside and out, but I'm having problems recording a screen tutorial, like yours, in LPX. I cannot get the audio output in logic to record while using my mic simultaneously. I am on a 2010 6-core mac pro tower, Apogee Duet FireWire, and using Quicktime to record. What is your exact set up and configurations?? Thanks a million in advance as there is no concise tutorial for my question.
I'm still not seeing the rest of the box when I click on setting in the channel strip settings. It only goes as far as Delete Channel Strip Settings. I'm in the process of downloading additional content. Do you think it'll appear when that's done? Many thanks for all your helpful videos!
I just got Logic Pro X and am very new to the midi world. I am waiting on my first controller to come. I clicked on Preferences but my Advanced Settings is dithered out?? Is that because I don't have any input device plugged in? Thanks
Any idea how to get the audio region view to go back to waveform from sample view, or why it gets that way? I have scoured the internet, and tried the Refresh Overview(s) option, and my audio regions are still stuck in a sample view. Plus, Logic X seems to default to this setting on it's own.
I have a desktop mac pro 12gb ram.How do I set Logic pro 10 so I can record 8hr constantly. I have 8tb of space or four 2tb drives.I have focusrite 2i2 and the AKG P220 condenser mic. What settings do I change in Logic to do this. I have tried recording, but the recording only records for a couple hours.
i have logic pro and i dont have that option i have "enable complete features for some reason? i have been trying to get apple packs/loops etc back in and i havent been able to. thanks!
Question for musictechguy or anyone else who can help! I am thinking of moving to Logic from Pro tools due to my iMac /Yosemite upgrade. Now in ProTools I was using an M Box as my midi interface. Now what midi interface/if at all, will I need for Logic Pro X please for my controller keyboard? Also want to play my music through my amp and external speakers as well. Anybody help?
Hey man! love your tutorials they're great. i've hit a serious roadblock with my V-drums. apparently i bought my mac and logic after update 10.2 or whatever and now the mapped instruments pop up in the midi environment page doesn't have the input note anymore which prevents me from being able to change the sound each of the pads on my v drums make. if you have a solution to this you will be my hero! lol thanks
+Skyler Radmore If you're talking about the Input Notes keyboard object, you have to go to the Clicks & Port view to see it. To create a new one, go to New > Keyboard. I don't know if they just changed the name in v. 10.
Hey there, thanks so much for this. I thought this one would help me with my issue but this is still happening: when I start a new software inst track, it opens as a classic electric piano- and there are no options for LEGACY beneath the settings. Any further sggestions? Thanks!
Lila Rose You still haven't downloaded ALL of the additional content. If you go to preferences > download additional content, a window will pop up that asks what content you want to download. For some reason, even if you select ALL, it still omits the legacy material, you have to manually select the legacy material from the list.
MusicTechHelpGuy thank you so much for the help! hate when i hit a dead on and this vid rly cleared it up. i just bought the akai mpk249, wondered what your thoughts/opinions on it were. thanks again!
Hey Josh awesome video but I have a problem. If I go to settings I cant see the logic folder with the different instruments and all that. Can someone help me???? Please
SleepyGamer LP You need to download your additional content. The Logic app itself is only like 800 MB. The additional content has all of your presets, some instruments, samples, and loops. It's about 30 GB of content. You need to go to Logic Pro X > Download Additional Content.
+haron muturi "Make beats"? Try writing some beats - that should do it. Logic Pro then offers you numerous ways to record these beats you wrote (if you watch this guy's tutorials, it will become obvious). Or, you could of course just use some of the zillions of "beats" Logic gives out (as "Loops") with the program. Your audience probably won't know the difference anyway, as there are only so many "beats" to be invented.

Awesome job as always. What program do you use for screen recording?
This video is super old, so I was probably just using QuickTime back then. Now I use Screenflow. You can use it to edit and capture.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy you are the man! Thanks dude!
Thank you so much for the videos, but i still have some problem with my software monitoring, i have to turn off, can you help with that?
Once you've selected all the boxes do you need to click enable all ?
