- The next generation pro-DJ headphones have arrived as Pioneer DJ launches the HDJ-2000MK2: with optimised audio quality, enhanced sound isolation, ultimate comfort and an even more robust build to withstand the rigours of professional use.
The flagship HDJ-2000s have been the pro-DJ’s choice for more than six years thanks to their superb sound separation, from deep bass to crisp trebles. The HDJ-2000MK2s take on board DJs’ feedback and adopt new low-volume air chambers and airtight stitching to deliver the pristine sound needed for monitoring in the loudest clubs.
Available in black or silver, the HDJ-2000MK2s maintain their predecessor’s classic look and premium, robust build. DJs’ comfort is assured during even marathon sets; the ear pads feature urethane memory foam ear pads and leather-feel covers, while a lightweight, adjustable headband and rotatable housings support multiple monitoring styles. Plus with a premium hard carry case, foldable structure and two detachable cords (coiled and straight), the HDJ-2000MK2 headphones are compact, portable and durable enough to fit the lifestyle of even the most demanding pro-DJ.
The HDJ-2000MK2 DJ headphones are available in black or silver from late February 2015.

I know this comment is LATE AF, but I DO own a pair of the HDJ 2000MKII in the black colors..!! They’re AMAZING..!! Sound quality is amazing, the BUILD QUALITY it OUTSTANDING..!! Pioneer DJ had done it again in 2015 AND 2017 with their X Series of headphones..!!
Pioneer is on fire with all those goodies
There's so much stuff coming out, these look amazing. I need!
Girlfriend just got me these for Christmas today, total upgrade from my regular HDJ's where the plastic pieces broke off the sides and I had to electrical tape them. Good to see Pioneer redesigned them more durable!
+RICHARD L mines are falling apart too. I'm wondering if these will last
There aren't any cheap plastic parts like the HDJ-2000 had so I really don't see why not.
+RICHARD L I wonder if @Pioneer DJ will credit me $100 or so for my original HDJ-2000's that fell apart just like everybody else's????
What a rip-off?!!! $300 headphones, lasting a few months. And so many people with the same complaint!
Might finally upgrade my 4 year old HDJ 2000s :)
whats the difference bro
Out of the 120+ headphones I have in my collection, no DJ headphones comes close to or has lasted as well as my Sennheiser HD-25-1 headphones that I've had for nearly 20 years! Other than that, my money would be on the Ultrasone DJ headphones which are basically a supercharged version of their HFI headphones. However I only have 12 Ultrasone headphones in my current collection.... and 2 pairs of Pioneer's (currently - including the HDJ2000's) ... there's a reason for that :)
BEST DJ HEADPHONE!!!!
Why are these not available anywhere yet? It's April 2nd.
want these headphones so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks really awesome!!!
Watching this video with my MK2. :D
Still working?
is another that lasts just 18 months?
i want to hear these vs my aiaiai's and see if I can hear a difference. they def look more comfy
are the earthings locked ? so it don`t flaps anywhere ? hate that ;p or possible to lock.
I'll wait few months, see how many come back to shop (broken) and then decide if I want one or not
The One Question I have ... Are they now made out fully out of metal parts
Because the The Only Problem I EVER had with DJ Headphones are that they break so easily on the same spot (Those include Sony v700, Pioneer HDJ-1000 & HDJ-2000 and many others that have a similar design)
The only One that never broke was my Techniks RP1200
I hope pioneer took the time en effort to look in to the problem that makes them break and made the parts of metal this time (on the HDJ-2000 its still plastic and can break very fast)
Pioneer, it's very cheesy to have DJs who are obviously sponsored by Pioneer, saying great things about Pioneer products. Really?
That being said, I loved the HDJ-2000s, so I'm sure these will be a big hit.
They look cool
SUPER !!!
Nice... ojalá que no tengan tanto bajo. Se ven muy bonitos
WoooooW :D
only thing I can critisize is that the logo on the side is now changed for a chrome stripe, I would prefer to have the logo there, but that's just personal taste.
yeah the design is kind off cheap whereas the other pionners ares simply beuatiful in my opinion :/
Hey I agree your opinion. Until yet, I would like pioneer logo than simple crom stripe design.(just critic on design)
I agree as well. I think leaving it blank might have been a better option.
5Khz [edit: 5Hz] lowest frequency response. Not bad.
5hz
my hdj500 and 1500 have that too, only little less highs i thought [grammar edit]
Melvin Jansen HDJ500 are shit, and for their price are expensive shit. Never tried HDJ1500, maybe they are good. I have HDJ 2000 and these for me are the ultimate DJ headphone ever created. Sound, comfort, durability, design. So I guess HDJ 2000MK2 are going to be even better :)
matrixplace the 1500 have the same sounddrivers as the 2000 but are on-ear, which I prefer because of personal taste. they are also a bit more bassy because the hole where the sound is from, is smaller because it's on-ear which makes the bass stronger. Personally, I use the hdj 500 only when I do back2back sets with friends on my room on my ddj-sr. but the 500 is very bassy and still better then every beats headphone I ever checked out in my opinion :D. actually, I received a new one from pioneer just an hour ago because i sent it back because of a broken headband,
matrixplace I've owned a pair of the HDJ1500 and I found the bass to be much punchier compared to the HDJ 2000.. I hope the HDJ2000 MK2 has the same bass or better than HDJ1500.. then I will consider buying.
Is every product going to have "DJ" on them now? Looked nicer with just "Pioneer" from a design side of things
I was thinking the same thing. Pioneer DJ is an independent entity than Pioneer, so it sort of makes sense.
Since pioneer dj was bought/put up for sale, yes I think the products will
In the hdj 2000 mk 1 the sound is fine. But the build construction are really bad. Plastic parts underneath the headband broke only in 3 months. And Pioneer warranty is a joke!
And there are huge amount of counterfeit Pioneers on the market!
Thats true but I buy my unit in a official dj shop dealer in my country not from internet. After so much allegations they finally change it for a new pair of Technics rp-dh 1200. And give me the different in cash. I use the technics every single weekend for about a year and I have no complains in term's of build quality.
Having dealt with the problem of counterfeit audio products for nearly 8 years now from speakers to headphones, I can tell you that I have purchased counterfeit Sennheiser headphones directly from 'A' .... major online store that we all use!!! Having received many products from big name online stores i can tell you that the problem goes deeper than most realise, to the point where i simply try my best to research and stay away from any brand that has been counterfeited on any level.
If a company offers an opportunity to buy direct from their website then I would buy direct and not through any third party seller or online or local store ... not even from reputable online stores like the Apple store or Amazon!
For legal reasons i can't go into the depth of the problem, however it is real and it is serious!
If you have happened to trip on a genuine pair, then consider yourself one of the lucky ones :)
+Rodrigo Morales I have an older version is losing color, sticking and broke in rings to be plastic the ring and plug connections connecting the cable to the handset also is cracked, it seems to me that it was not meant to last more than 20 months using in all weekends, had bought another unknown brand model is perfect but to this day ..
Sennheiser HD 25-1 MK II headphones, best there is and every part is replaceable!
hello v-moda hahhahah
I love my HDJ-2000s, but V-Moda M-100 are still king. They are a phenomenal value. Thanks to them, all these new DJ headphones are throwing in the free hard cases. Pioneer charged $35 for the hard case LoL.
