Those pickups appear to not be the original HiloTrons (which were I believe a true single coil) but the later Super Hilotrons (2013/14?) which have the Gretsch "G" and arrow on them, which are a Filtertron with only 6 poles showing (the others are 6 metal slugs under the cover). The originals were wound to something like 3-3.5k, and the Supers are 4.5K alnico which have a bit 'more' going on.
Don't tell me you are going to use an overdrive pedal? Do a separate demo for your Zen Drive so we can hear this guitar and pickups. Still talking several minutes in... Finally hearing the guitar... These pickups are pretty bright, don't seem to have the range and sweetness of the Filtertrons. Zen Drive demo. All guitars would sound like this! The low end with the drive is very woofy and fizzy, still it could work in a track or in a live mix. It was a better demo than I thought it was going to be! Thanks!
Sorry it wasn’t for you- I use OD and clean tones to show how the guitar sounds for different applications. I know that I always value hearing a guitar clean and dirty to see how the pickups react.
These are great guitars. So undervalued but they really bring something else out of ya! I have a 67 I really enjoy

Good video, I've got one , great guitar , but I could never figure out the meaning of the 'mud switch'.
I always left mine switched for the brighter setting. I know some jazz players love the "mud" tone, though.
Are these solid top?
@@realtruenorthLaminated maple, if memory serves correctly- I’ve sold this one, but it was a great guitar.
@@theguitarlog it's a hollowbody with faux F holes? Looks to be so. Sounds good. Do you recommend this guitar?
Headstock tag for chet was std for the chet model out of the factory
I have this one, what’s it worth
Whatever someone will pay you- LOL. It always depends on condition and whether any parts were changed. Also, the market fluctuates quite a bit.
