How to make an OVERLAPPING V-NECK draped/pleated top (Slash and spread method)

Yes you make the pattern itself shorter before you slash and spread it

Hi I'm working on stretch fabric so I want to know if I can put a zip at the back of the bodice because is gather dress waistline

If the dress is stretchy you might not need zip at all. I did not get the last part of your question though
