Hi Jesse, just wanted to mention that you can't go lizardose or gravity controller if you used/want to use 1st movement because it locks you into melodious for the entire turn, although you could still freely use an ostinato.
Melodious is so goated. One of the best designed decks in game imo despite there being a 10 year gap between their debut and meta relevancy which is crazy to think about. Etoile is an excellent boss monster and schuberta and aria are cards that have aged extremely, extremely well
Best designed? Even as a fan of the archetype we have to be honest, their card design is very clunky. They have three different cards (1st Movement Solo, Ostinato, and Solo the Melodious Songstress) that require you to have an empty board to activate, and if you draw any of them together the other will be useless. Etoile somewhat fixes it but you’ll never use her effect just to clear your board to activate any of the other cards. Aria targeting protection includes your own cards, so she shuts off your own cards like Refrain, Fortissimo, Melodious Illusion, and Pianissimo. Bloom Harmonist has generic summoning requirements of 2 fairies but if you use her effect to special summon 2 Melodious monsters you’re locked out of summoning non-melodious the ENTIRE turn and not for the rest of the turn, so when are you ever going to use non-Melodious fairy monsters to summon her? Mozarta’s effect is redundant and no longer useful now with the Pendulum monsters. Serenade’s use now is only to double tribute non-Melodious like Vanity’s Ruler. This archetype has a lot of conflicting effects. It took 5 cards to fix their issues. They have too many conflicting effects to be called one of the best designed archetypes.
Great budget deck video Jesse. You should definitely play and record Melodious duels at locals. It would be awesome and informative to see. Thank you. 💯👍🏼👊🏼

I always appreciate this series, it’s good to showcase budget options that are still playable especially with your expertise. As a melodious player I also like Elegy as a secondary Bloom target, or an ostinato dump to recycle later. It’s rarely dead in hand due to pendulum summoning it out or concerto fusion material. Elegy plus Arias makes your whole board super annoying to deal with, and was my primary answer into Tenpai, especially in master duel with how obnoxious Tenpai can be. Can never underestimate a board that can’t be destroyed by any means, nor targeted and your boss monster floats right into Bacha who can then float again back into Etoile. Super sticky to deal with.
Would love to see the deck in action at locals in addition to these types of videos. This convinced me to keep pursuing competitive play as I don’t have the money for some of those pesky engines and staples. Thank you

Jesse the way you carry yourself and play the game is genuinely something to look up to. I would love to see you do a Blackwing build. I've had a lot of fun with it recently and would love to see your take!
I love melodious been running it a bunch in master duel and took 3rd at locals a few weeks ago with it. Beat out tenpai and others cause they don't know how it works
There are a TON of fiendsmith players at my locals. And lemme tell you I have thoroughly enjoyed Schuberta banishing three, then Etoile banishing it for 2-3 bounces then end phase doing Schuberta AGAIN
Adding on a few things here for people interested: - try and find as many cards for your decks as you can from one seller, since many offer free shipping over certain prices. Should help you out in the long run. - Another melodious to consider running is Elegy, who's a level 5 monster that makes it so your melodious monsters can't be destroyed by card effects and boosts their attack by 300. You can get her and aria out at the end of your combo with bloom harmonist. - aria stops you from targeting your own monsters, so you can't target any fusions with refrain's pend effect - if you have to use haggard lizardose to clear your board for ostinato or 1st movement solo, shopina's effect gets turned off, because of the wording on her effect, "You cannot activate non-LIGHT monster effects during the turn you activate this effect." - using Bacha in EMZ for Gravity Controller is a good play, but shuts off couplet's search, and since it can't be linked off when it's summoned, you'll have a rough time doing whatever combo you can. - if your opponent bystials you, you're legally allowed to assault them
with the Gravity controller play, as long as you started with ostinato, you can tribute summon couplet over the gravity controller then use Soprano to fuse herself and couplet which then places couplet allowing you to get the search

Probably not the format for them for a multitude of reasons; Both charmies hurt a lot, shifter isnt as strong, the maliss matchup isn't the greatest given exosisters main form of interaction is banishing, and they get caught in the crossfire of anti-ryzeal tech cards like eclipse, ultimate slayer.
Is Elegy not worth playing as a one of in the side or even main? I play Melodious in Master Duel and feel as though she’s pretty important for the Tenpai matchup particularly. I thought she may come up against Ryzeal as extra protection if they go for Exciton (assuming Etoile has been used/dealt with somehow). Melodious end boards tend to have an extra body just lying around and it may as well be Elegy.
She's a level 5 that doesn't special herself with a worse protection effect than aria... And what does she even do in the tenpai matchup? She doesn't stop any of the Kash or fiendsmith stuff that aria stops and the only thing she prevents is like transcendent dragon pop but if they need to use that to out aria they aren't killing you
Also what are they even dealing with etoile with lol? Dark ruler? That card is poor this format and even if they do they still need like a fenrir or a bounce to out it without proccing the float, of which ryzeal does not play fenrir or have any way to spin it (unless they be on castel or opened ruler + slayer which is usually redundant), and ruler would shut off elegy too anyway
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 A lot of Tenpai players run straight up board wipe stuff like Raigeki and they can make Black Rose very easily then proceed to kill with Kaimen if it’s in hand. It doesn’t always matter but there are instances where it does and it’s such a minor include that I often find I may as well summon her out. In Master Duel specifically there are also weird matchups that may come up and having easy card destruction protection accessible is nice. It’s probably not as important in TCG but I do see a situation possible where specifically Exciton is used early to force out Etoile before going into other stuff. Maybe it isn’t worth it to run her for that situation, I haven’t played the matchup much but it seems worth considering at least. Her being Level 5 is annoying and you never want to see her in opener but you can always pend summon her out so it’s not the worst thing in the world.
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 Droplet is the big problem card for Etoile. Very playable card generally and it completely shafts Melodious endboards. Elegy does not do a ton in that situation but if Aria is negated along with Etoile then Elegy prevents the rest of your board from getting easily popped.
Can anyone explain to me why people play so many handtraps over board breakers? Once you can ash the opponent, veiler, and imperm and they still land a board with 2-3 interactions youve lost half your hand and the other half gets negated. Why would you not use 1 board breaker that gets negated, a socond one negated but a third one goes they and theyr ENTIRE board is gone the otk or they have to pray from the draw of the cards for another 1 card started they used 2 of their? am I missing something here?
Alot of people have seen success running a board breaker approach with the top 2 decks. I think he mentioned with this deck specifically that if your opponent sets up any kind of board it's so difficult to combo off that you're better hoping to open multiple hand traps.
Because 1 card combo exist. Just 1 Snake eye Ash you can make 9 interruptions (if your hand is good) include omi-negate. So it's hard to stop all of them with board breakers. Decent board breakers like Super poly or Droplet come with cost of discarding cards. But with just single effect veiler, we can stop all of this happen. Yeah but it's kinda depend on your deck is going first deck or going second deck (like Tenpai).
I made a comeback and ygo is disgustingly expensive for an independent adult. Currently building blind second Sky Striker since its cheap and I clap everybody in Nexus and db with it
Please try make Dragunity meta again Please I give you this difficult tast. I want to Synchro like a mad man again and link. I loved that mechanic so much it was my baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........
Do a giveaway of these, I bet the deck will rise in price due to the video. I always forget to check if i win those things but, someone else might win.
I mean tbf they’re staples everyone should already have. The deck core being $20 or under is pretty impressive when you compare to other meta decks running around.
@@Merzain With that logic the $500 Tenpai tournament list I just looked at should be considered a budget deck because the Mulcharmys are staples that are played in almost every single deck so everyone can just slot those into this "budget" deck. The title could have easily said $100, cut the Typhon and call it a day. Still a VERY good price for what the deck can put up. Why lie about it and only count the core of the archetype, especially since many budget decks also attract new players who have no staples lying around?
@ Because this is talking about playing in a competitive format. This is a deck that doesn’t *need* the high end priced staples, it can easily get away with what’s practically the bare minimum. A lot of people actually did consider Tenpai pretty budget since it could cut the Charmy’s and play breakers, but with the huge hits to the list it needs some more consistency to keep it in the game.
@@Merzain See but that is exactly the argument I am making. If this deck can easily get away with "practically the bare minimum", it's just disingenuous to not include staples in the clickbait title. I wholeheartedly agree with you that it's great that a deck like this exists and that seasoned players most likely will have a bunch of the staples already. But not including them in the overall price has no excuse imo.
@ I mean that’s like complaining someone doesn’t include the price for basic lands in a MTG deck. Like there’s an assumption of the bare minimum in most TCG, and yugioh especially since there’s no colors or limitations outside of archetypes.

unnecessary brick
Make master duel budget decks to bro.
How do you play around d-barrier apart from bagooska?
You curl up in a fetal position and cry
To keep up with yugioh I had to start selling cards lol. Started in October & so far I’ve been able to to have yugioh pay for itself lol
@ ahh gotcha I appreciate you insightful response 🙏🏻
Because 1 card combo exist. Just 1 Snake eye Ash you can make 9 interruptions (if your hand is good) include omi-negate. So it's hard to stop all of them with board breakers. Decent board breakers like Super poly or Droplet come with cost of discarding cards. But with just single effect veiler, we can stop all of this happen. Yeah but it's kinda depend on your deck is going first deck or going second deck (like Tenpai).
I made a comeback and ygo is disgustingly expensive for an independent adult. Currently building blind second Sky Striker since its cheap and I clap everybody in Nexus and db with it
Heat Wave did just get a reprint! 😎
@autobotstarscream765 yup I brought 3 thank god it use to cost $11
Send it Jesse! Use the deck at locals!!
I can't wait for random cards in this deck to become expensive now lol
Please bring this to comp
No one is talking about it but dark work is crazy in this format now. And super cheap. It top 4ed a ycs like 2 weeks ago I belive.
Dark world is always goated, it's just that if you get shifter/droll ur kinda fucked and can't really play. Once the engine starts its solitaire baby
most recent top it has is top 4 at a 50 player regional that deck fucking sucks
It had to be a regional. Definitely didn’t top a YCS lol
@@GutsmanLoL just looked it up, top 4 wcq :p. Still shows how powerful the deck can be in the format though.
Archlord krystia?
The TCGPlayer links for the decklist are super wonky, or maybe it's just TCGPlayer itself.
Jessie i hope you make a dinomorphia video
Jesse bro. Where’s the Krawler meta deck?😂
This video literally sais "deck i will bring and win my next local", i still have to play purrely, but we'll see

this is cool being a waifu and a meta deck
Metalfoes Best deck
It's gimmick pups for sure
Cool concept of a video. I just cant stomach puppies and music fighting dragons and deamons...
Good old $20 deck (as long as you already own half of it)
Yugioh players' definition of "budget" always amazes me
I mean tbf they’re staples everyone should already have.
Bro only those handtraps are more than 20$ wtf
this ain't blue eyes
Blue-Eyes is cheap, but won't be good until February. Also might be a little pricey with the Primite cards.
@@Petsinwinter2 you righttttt primite is hella pricy now
monopoly aah money
Monarch is a sacky budget deck that steals games sometimes
Jesse, why your melodius video is full of BA references ? Have you been hacked by fartfa ?
It’s 1st Movement Solo not 1st Solo Movement 🙄
its not $20 anymore
Play locals😊
Funny to see this video after Sam smashed y’all 😂
First! 23 of asking for T.G. to be meta! I can't wait until you make T.G. in your videos!
