Honestly when they showed that scene with the helicopters relaying the message it felt like something they edited in and dubbed the audio in post after realizing they entirely forgot to add any exposition for the characters
I enjoyed it, I thought some of the photography was beautiful. One thing I couldn't reconcile about the sound design, the monsters are sooooo noisy. Like when they go into the building and the briefcase lid falls and they get that "oh we're fucked" look, knowing the monsters are on the way. But theyre sooo noisy, one the monsters are triggered by such a small noise, then suddenly they're rampaging and running down buildings breaking class and they're running and stomping around, how do they still track the human's with all the noise? I did sort of like that ideal of the monster stampedes following the helicopters, these big thundering stampedes, but why didn't they use that? Why don't they lure them into a trap or a pit and drop of bomb or drown them. Some of the jump scares were pretty good.
I actually got into a mental wormhole about that concept when I rewatched them leading up to this one's release lol. It makes sense in a smaller setting like a few on a farm, but in a setting like this with so many of them, wouldn't they all just be running into each other constantly because they make so much noise themselves. Like how do they discern who's making the noise haha
This movie was absolutely lazy. I hate using the term cash grab because that’s the object to make money but, this feels like it. The 4 and 5 star reviews Im seeing I dunno what they watched. I agree the characters were boring. I didnt care about either of them. Nothing wrong with the acting. Also that cat is the most calmest cat ever. No way he’d be cool with that water. I definitely won’t revisit it.
Yeah idk, I think reviews are crazy lenient now because the theatres are hurting etc. but this was a pretty hard watch at points. I didn't despise it, but if I would have had any expectations I'd have probably hated this
A cat that never makes a noise. Never knocks anything over or gets scared, goes swimming with you in city sewers and when it runs off when the city is being destroyed it magically finds its owner, over and over again. Ya know, just like cats in real life? I didn't enjoy this film at all. Why did they have to have a cat in this movie? It annoyed me every time it was on screen because it made no sense to have it there. Those 100 minutes felt like an eternity, and I was bored out of my mind. Definitely not one I'd recommend. 3/10
The cat not making a peep 3 inches from the monsters face was the final straw when it comes to suspending my disbelief. I keep seeing such enormous praise for this movie because it's "such a touching story" but I felt like there was just no point or purpose to the story they told. Sure it's touching from surface level, but it didn't land with me because I didn't care about the characters at all; the actual movie arc was so bland and boring
The movie was incredibly and disappointingly basic. The basic things in the second film are more present here. It’s that or I expected more explanation of the aliens. I guess he’s still trying to figure that out.
I loved it lupita nyong'o is so good I’ll watch anything she’s in
She really is a great actress. Glad you enjoyed it!
Felt the exact same way. How the hell did they know they needed to be quiet? Maybe the helicopters but they didn’t try to explain it

good thing i never watch any trailers and i find that's the best way to enjoy a movie.
Totally agree. I actually try to do the same, this just happened to be one of the ones they showed every single time I went to see anything else

@@SeanKennyYT Definitely a tough watch at times. I’ll stick with the original 2.

I think you saved me from wasting my time.
Id say stream it, nothing unique enough you need to run out and pay a premium to see. Thanks for the comment!

@SeanKennyYT 🤣 yep! Might still give it a try though. Let u know my thoughts later.
