The damage to the couch and the bookshelf should have been a non issue. Truly professional movers will wrap furniture pieces like that in moving pads and tape it all around so the legs and cushions wouldn't be exposed, the edges of the bookshelf wouldn't be able to make a mark on walls. Just so you know for future reference.
Exactly. Prevents all sorts of damage & ultimately makes their job way easier for the 5 mins or takes to wrap. Where I live, they blanket & saran wrap be rain. You don't pay $100+/hr for stuff to get ruined.
I had a very similar experience to A’s. When the movers arrived I thought to myself, this just isn’t good. But, like A said, at that point you’re pretty much screwed bc what do you? You have to be out of there, so you just have to go on a wing and a prayer. The guys I hired were very similar to her experience. And at the end, they charged me more than we agreed upon. I didn’t want to pay the add’l amt they tacked on, but my Dad told me to go ahead and pay it to avoid these jerks coming back and doing something out of spite.
I've only used a mover once before and they were from a program helping recovering addicts just like yours but holy crap. We had the complete opposite experience! There were like 5 dudes moving us out of this tiny apartment and they were so nice and so fast. I'm so sorry your guys weren't taking it seriously!
You should reach out to them with a claim and ask for a refund for the third mover that didn’t do shit and compensation for your sofa. The insurance is industry standard. I managed a moving company for five years. It is the way it works legally. That being said most reputable companies will negotiate. I’m not telling you they’re going to lunch is actual craziness. Not wrapping the sofa and not wrapping the other furniture pieces is also crazy. They should compensate you for all the damage to the walls as well or send somebody out to get them fixed.
Ex-con, recovering drug addict here. I exclusively hire people in recovery to work on my home. Had 1 problem in the 2 yrs I have owned my home. Sounds to me like "long hair" may have fallen off the wagon. Lol. Glad you are in your new place and back to filming!
@@Channelinterrupted agreed. this video changed my perception on her. this video was a whole lot of complaining over something she could’ve done her self
Moving stories. Won't dive into why, but I have moved over 30 times in my life. I'm late 50s....so yeah. A lot of stuff has happened, but one stands out - a "combined" move from Seattle area to Raleigh. Largest truck split two moves, ours items were mistakenly in the back. THEY DELIVERED THE ENTIRE TRUCKLOAD TO SOMEONE IN TENNESSEE. No calls, nothing arrived. Once I realized and asked for next steps, they simply said "we will try to recover items, but you need to submit a claim". The people who received all our items (emphasize ALL), denied receiving. Claim process took 6 months, we got very little. :o &*(!!!
WHAT!🤯 Omg, this one! THIS STORY!!?? Takes the cake...by far, the worst horror moving story I've ever heard. I am forever forewarned - never, ever, ever agree to a 'split move' .. EVER!🤨 (and the worst part - the thing that just destroys any belief in 'humanity'...these lowlife creeps in TN, claiming they 'never received' Jeeze, worst nightmare moving story ever🤯 so sorry this happened to you 😢
@@barbarafairbanks4578 I know right? It was about 15 years ago so it is now yesterdays news. Sucks because it included my personal belongings... meaning family pictures, keepsakes handed down over generations, etc. I'd say that part bothered me the most. There are all some heartless people out there!! Geez.
Whenever something crazy happens in our life, my boyfriend and I just laugh and say, “memories babe, making memories”. Times like this make great stories Alex 🤪
such a great view on life. One time our landlord locked the door for entire night with a different lock we didn't have a key for, and demanded crazy amounts of money for damages we didn't do....it's a long ass story..... but basically I called a police and we could've sue him for kidnapping.... at one point Police dragged us out off of public transport to come to the station and leave a statement ???WTF?.........Makes a great story that I'll laugh at forever.
Thats a good one, Ill remember this😁 Been married x30yrs+3 adult kids & 2 new grandbabies. We have ALOT of "memories." Gosh, just did a mental sweep of some of them haha
Yikes! Please make sure to leave reviews of this moving company where ever you can; so that other people are saved. I’ve had awful experiences with movers. One stole a large urn my Dad gave to me! Grrr ! I’ve had broken furniture, etc. Report them to the Better Business Bureau and let them advocate for you. I’m glad the move is over, that you’re feeling better and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Ya look stunning, lady. So sorry about the moving deal! That is the worst. We've already moved once this year, into a tiny, tiny space while we wait for our house to finish. Then we're moving again in a few months. Good times. Hopefully your new home is better and better as time goes on. Nothing like settling in to a nice place!
It’s admirable you didn’t name and shame the company in this video. When I moved from the Bay Area, we had like six guys moving us and they fully started fighting with one guy who was being lazy and wasn’t helping. It was so awkward. They also lost a bunch of the connectors so we couldn’t put some of our stuff back together until we bought new. Happy birthday! 🎁🎈🎂🎉
I tend to not like name and shame stuff but in this situation I do agree that they shouldn’t be hired by other people until they’ve understood how upsetting their behaviour was. To them it may have been just another day but these are people who are feeling distressed by their actions.
Two thoughts! First one: that sounds so freaking stressful and I feel like I see myself in you so much when you were talking about people not taking your complaints seriously. People always say “oh they just -insert flimsy excuse here-!!! It’s not a big deal” like wow feels so invalidating. Secondly, despite the fact that you had a bad time on that day, I don’t think it was bad that they hire convicts/drug addicts and didn’t explicitly tell you that. Rarely are people looking for jobs that have done violent crimes and there are many misconceptions about that population. Of course - good to tape up boxes and take that extra security in any moving situation - i just don’t know if it was an important note to make in my opinion. Sorry it was so stressful though! You look beautiful as always 💖
I totally feel for you, Alex. I had a really bad experience with a local moving company. They took breaks including a lunch break. When you’re paying by the hour that’s not right. One of them was way too old to still be doing a physical job like moving. They were rated quite highly by our local Better Business Bureau but after I learned you could buy higher ratings on that. So frustrating.
Breaks should be included in the contract. Considering the work they do is really energy consuming, breaks to eat and drink are really important. I bought my movers pizza and drinks so they wouldn’t have to go far to get food. My movers were so hard working and courteous. Even though I was paying for their service, I appreciated their labor doing something that I would not be able to do as well as them.
I'm a ex-con and a recovering addict, and I'm also a very hard worker, sad that you had a very bad experience, theres always 1 or 2 out the bunch of workers that fuck it off for the rest that are doing their hardest in working and trying to keep their customers happy, and yes we all do deserve a second chance, because there is addicts out there that get a second chance & change!! That's why when it's time to move me and my husband just do it ourselves even if we have alot of shit, it just saves problems, stress, and headaches! Because you just cant trust every and anybody! Happy bday miss alex!
That’s a shitty day but, im glad nothing that bad actually happened. Im a drug addict and in recovery. I’m also a special education teacher at a school for troubled kids. My boyfriend is an xcon and an addict in recovery, and we know lots of people who have similar backgrounds, we are good people and very hard working, Even when there is more than one of us at a time. It’s ok that you don’t know that but, the way you said it, with such disgust. It hurt my heart a lot. Like, it really sucked hearing that from you. Anyway, your makeup looks bomb as always, hope you guys have fun tonight!
My comment was about how annoyed I was that they made all ex cons/addicts look bad. I see you. I know you aren’t bad humans even a little bit. Sending love. 💕
I'm thinking Alex was disgusted at their behavior, not that they are in recovery. I have 17 years of sobriety and I didn't get that vibe from her. But I will say to you that these men knew to suit up and show up and they did not, plus they had crappy, disrespectful attitudes. It isn't everyone's job to understand addiction recovery. It would be great but it's the addicts job to change their behavior and become a good citizen to the world.
Well, to be honest, your moving experience is pretty standard. I used to work for a company that "moved" me every 8 weeks. Obviously I lived out of a backpack but still----after the first couple of experiences, I just felt better by seeing each move as a learning experience.
Ahh adulting.. not siding with the movers. You said it you paid for it. They should move it. Im with you on that but to save you headache and money since most of the time you will Be paying by hour. You have to do your due diligence in packing, In the future get wardrobe boxes. They have standup one with a metal bar and flat ones. The are wider and longer. Label every box with stickers that has numbers and keep a sheet of what general items are on what boxes . When the movers are done moving, check off the numbers that way if you are missing a number, you know exactly what’s in it. Open all boxes within the first week as there is a time limit on when to file claims on damaged items. For big furniture. Take pictures the night before or the morning of moving day. That way if there’s damage you can prove it. I’ve had movers movers move valuable stuff cross states and I’ve move 4 times in the last 5 years and lived in 4 different states in the last 5 years. You have to know how to wrap and pack. You can purchase additional insurance on your own. And you can read contracts before hand. Best of luck on your next move!
Moving is NEVER a good time. It was very smart to have you or your boyfriend keeping a close eye on them. Your move sounds exactly like when I move but insert friends who have “injuries/ailments” that they somehow never brought up! Add to that 3 teens(mine) who feel put out that they have to help at all and managed to convince the “help” they needed me to supply lunch 90 minutes in. Hey I planned on feeding everyone but seriously we had not even loading 1/2 the truck on the first trip. I have decided that I shall die in my rental home because that shit show literally took 10 years off of my life! 😳 Annnnd Happy Birthday 🎊🎂🎉🎁!! I hope you enjoy your special day in the new apartment with those you love. 🥰
I actually worked for a company where the majority of what we did was fix stuff that movers broke. Here's what I've seen - at large national chains one person (probably the guy who didn't suck) is an actual employee, the rest are just temps who don't care because moving sucks and they make minimum wage. You NEED to file an insurance claim with the company. The fact that they were trying to gaslight you about the couch legs is huge. After you file the claim the insurance company should send over a "3rd party investigator" (depending on your states laws) who just basically in essence works for the insurance company. They'll either offer you a fraction of what you paid for the item or have people who know furniture restoration/repair try to fix it. I've had to try and fix all kinds of furniture, repaint walls that were scuffed, you name it. My "specialty" was furniture restoration but I took that job because it sounded like I'd be helping people. Nope, I was just a cog in the insurance machine and I hated it because I felt like they were ripping people off and I hated it. Not to be all gloom and doom or the bearer of bad news, but just giving you a heads up on what to expect. But I do hope you can get a good repair person to fix things.
Omg that moving story, the stuff of nightmares. I moved four times in four years and every time is such a stressful experience. Watching Maid on Netflix at the moment. Really good.
A good mover will tell you how to prep ahead of time. My last move was super simple because the mover told me to put everything in boxes (no bags) and what he could / couldn't transport. Super fast, efficient and easy.
I've hired movers 3 times in my life, and have 2 stories like this. 1st they were 4 hours late b/c an employee whose truck they were using to haul the trailer, quit the job before mine by unhooking the trailer and leaving it in the street. when they did show up it was with homeless day workers they'd picked up on a street corner. one ancient man couldn't life more than 5 pounds, so he would take drawers out of my dresser then drop them from waist height on top of each other b/c he couldn't bend. they broke my stuff, they broke light fixtures and stuff at the apartment. once loaded, their truck couldn't go more than 35 mph on the highway. when it started to rain we discovered their trailer leaked. when we got to the new place 6 hours late, we couldn't get in, so they started unloading stuff, like the TV, on the lawn in the rain 'b/c they'd been there so long.' We contacted the company about the damage while the movers were giving us crap about not tipping. Was the same - the person on the phone assured us they'd compensate for damages but we never heard back
after that bad experience, I asked for recommendations, and when I hired the next company, I told them about the the previous move. they seemed super professional, and even came to the house before the moving day to check things out, and scheduled us for the 1st slot of the day. day of the move comes and we do the last few things like take apart the bed, and b/c 1 of the cats doesn't travel well and it was a long drive, gave her a prescription tranquilizer. scheduled time comes and goes (my bf is convinced I lied to him about the time so that he'd get up on time). an hour later, I call the mover to see if they've hit some delay. guy answers the phone, but then hangs up when I ask when they'll be there. I call back - he answers again, and hangs up again. my next calls weren't as polite. he stops answering, but his wife keeps answering and handing him the phone. at this point, we know he's not coming, so start calling other moving companies or even truck rentals - the last day of the month on a holiday weekend. we eventually find someone, and they do that contract thing of walking around the house and asking "does this lamp go" "does this box go." I KEEP saying, start with the big furniture that we can't fit in our cars, and fill the truck with anything else that will fit for a single truck trip, and we'll come back for everything else ourselves. all the while, the cat is not enjoying the medication - yowling, falling down, and having diarrhea everywhere. then it start sprinkling for 10 minutes (we live in Tx - don't know why we got rain both times), which he says is a hazard. At this point, they've charged us for 2 hours at "hazard rate" on top of the holiday and rush rates, and haven't touched a single item. Same smirky "we know you don't have any other option" attitude as they scammed us for extra money and damaged things left and right. 3rd time was annoying, but by far the best - truck too small but also not packed efficiently, moved the 2 pieces I'd told them that weren't moving, broke the green frosted (hard to replace) glass in a cabinet, threw fragile marked boxes in upside down, dragged stuff across the wood floor, would have 1 person try to move something that needed 2, didn't understand doorways, kept asking me for a glass of water (dude - everything is packed - here's $5 - go buy a bottle at 7-11). I have to move again this year, and am already dreading it.
@@jessicastevens5782 'dreading it'? 😫 only dreading? I'd be over-the-top paranoid af, convincing myself 'no-need-to-move, no-need, no-need' in the most hellish living environment, rather than face yet another horror story move. For what it's worth, I've heard this company 'Two Men & A Truck' (that's just the name '2 Men' but not really only 2 guys show up) is an great option, highly professional, excellent reputation. And they are all over the US -franchised in 45 states, Canada, & UK.
Girl, I literally wonder if we had the same movers. Almost the same experience and sounds like the description of the same three men. This is crazy, and I feel for you so much! Glad it’s all over and done with for you now!
Love the glitter brows! I hope you gave the movers a really detailed online review. I just moved recently and it was nothing like you experienced. Before I chose a company, I read a ton of reviews, and if I’d read a post with your experience, I would have moved to the next company. Thank goodness it’s over. what a nightmare! Live and learn.
OMG! I would have lost my mind!! So glad you're finally feeling better. I'm moving from PA to FL next year. After hearing your story... I'll be renting a U-haul!! Wishing you a very Happy Birthday! Ps.. could you do an eye look for us Brown-eyed girls?? 👁️🎂🎉
Happy Birthday!!! Sorry to hear about the moving story. We used to move every 3 years when I was a kid (dad in the Air Force) and I remember my mom having to handle movers & moving companies and it was rarely good! Now, we can hopefully relax and enjoy your birthday!
When you asked what we're watching in Netflix, i thought, well GBBO, but she wouldn't be into that! Lol then you said you were. That stuff is my jam. So relaxing.
Happy birthday!!! I had an inkling we were the same age, welcome to 31! ✨ I am LOVING that yellow on your lid, even though it was probably your artistry that made it look so good. Also, impressed by the glittery brows, subtle and still make a big difference! I’m so sorry about your moving experience! Was so annoyed when I heard some of the details. I hate when I am not being taken seriously and I am fuming (mostly on the inside) when I see someone not doing their job properly. Like, I am literally paying for this. It doesn’t matter if it’s waiting tables or driving or putting tiles in my bathroom. I am not here demanding six stars service out of five; just be decent and do a good effing job, like I do mine. I feel you on the rage and I’m glad you’re feeling much better healthwise now. All the best!
Dude omg I was stressed tf out hearing that nightmare! I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with that bs. When you decide to move later on down the road I'd have a very assertive friend or two be with you guys. That way they make sure the movers are doing it correctly and being the voice that tells them they are fucking up when they are and making sure everything moves in a smooth manner. Assertive friends make sure your ass is in control of the situation not the movers (or any other situation you gotta pay for like landscaping) cause they aren't afraid of offending anyone. Get them ballsy friends girl! 💪 love your makeup as always 😘
So sorry about your moving experience! I've been loving the wee chats you've been uploading..little glimpses into your life if ya fancy doing more of those! Love your grwm and tutorials tho😍🤩🥰 glad to have you back xxx
Ooh my god this is a traumatizing story.. it just keeps getting worse! Edit: the ex-con smiling like a creep when they thought it was just you is probably the worst part. Alex, I'm so sorry you went through that! How's the new apartment? Any noisy neighbors? I hope it's a vast improvement!💖 OH MY GOSH, HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAY!!!!!!🎂🎉
Omg! I’ve learned so much about movers! We moved from San Diego to Dallas recently!!! Biggest night mare EVER!!! They’re a bunch of crooks that know you have no control!!!! It’s unbearable! I’m sorry you went through that! You’re not alone my friend!!!
Happy Birthday Aleeex! 🌷🎂🎁🎈🎉🎆 I am sorry about your horror move. I heard somewhere that moving from one place to another is in first place on the list of most stressful things in your life. Just for the record, divorce was in a second place...🙄🤔 That explains a lot! Now I will tell you my first (and I REALLY hope the last😑) horror move to my new apartment 3 years ago. I booked time and day, I found kind of cheep company. I have to pay for the amount of things they will carry, not by hour (that was interesting I thought). They asked how many things I have, I said that two beds, few boxes and one mirror. I was planning to get rid of many things, so I did not counted them, because I thought if I will not sell them, I will through it away (that was exactly what I did). The moving day came, everything is packed we are waiting. By we I mean my daughter, three of her friends and I. We were 5 people to help them and make everything faster. So..they promised to come 13 o'clock, 13.30 we still waiting for them. I called manager, he said that they will be late, it's hard to plan the time and so on...He said they shoul be around 14 o'clock, I told everyone that movers will be late. Okay...they did not come at that time, they came one hour later. I felt uncomfortable for people who has to wait, but they said it's fine, let's slowly move boxes down, so it will be faster as I lived on the third floor. So, we did already half of their job. When they finally came no "I am sorry", nothing, first thing they said was: too many boxes, we are not taking all of them! 😬I am like : are you shitting me right now? They said they need to call their manager. 😡 It was back and forth calling and talking and waiting for answers. Another hour was waisted. Finally manager said, that I need to pay double if I want that they would take all my things! I did not had choice, it was already dark. They made me sign another contract. We literally did their job, these two guys was just standing inside the car and received boxes we handled to them. Same with putting everything in a new apartment, the whole thing took only one hour (to wait for them to start it took 4 hours...), because we did 80% of their job ( for which they also got paid double...). I am pretty sure they were laughing what an idiot I am, doing their job, for which they got paid. I complained of course, wrote a big letter to consumers rights, destroyed my nerves and of course they won the whole thing. They said: you know, people needs to get paid for their hard job! 😈😠😤🙊👎
I just cut my hair like yours! It’s been short for awhile but I went short like you are right now just coincidence but I’m super happy with it. You are beautiful 💜
🤣 🤣🤣 you called “long haired” the “c” word!!! 💪🏼💪🏼 he sounded like a real loser. On a positive note the purple and yellow really made your eye color stand out. Very pretty ❤️❤️❤️
My friend did a cross country move from Seattle to Houston and she contracted with what was a well-known mover and they subcontracted out to these shady Eeeffers who ended up putting her stuff in storage for like three weeks before they even shipped down and then once it got to her it had been picked over and broken. Then they were also trying to make her pay more before they would give her the stuff and they wouldn’t bring it to her actual house she had to meet them like in a Walmart parking lot with a U-Haul. I’ve heard so many stories like this - especially lately I don’t know what it’s been in the last couple years why it’s so prolific but it is more common than not
Eugh, this sounded super stressful! My anxiety would have been all over the place. GBBO is the best comfort show. The new series is currently airing in the UK and it's so good! Sending positive thoughts and love from the UK! 🇬🇧❤️
I’m so sorry you went through that! What a shitty company! I’ve moved a lot, I’ve moved myself, and had several movers, good and bad, and it is SO stressful (we’re military). When you contract movers through the military, they usually insist on packing everything themselves, for liability reasons. They’re assuming responsibility for your things. Of course that doesn’t mean they won’t break or lose stuff. We had put all of our things in storage ourselves for a few months before the movers came. They moved all of our stuff out of the storage unit. I had packed and inventoried everything when putting it into storage, but they insisted on unpacking and repacking everything. We sat in the hallway of that storage facility and watched them for about 12 hours. It was rough!
My first time getting to hear Alex telling a long story. At one point in time she says something along the lines of she's storytelling but not doing hardly any makeup. Then I'm thinking to myself, oh yeah, were supposed to be here to learn about makeup and beauty products and skin tones and concealers, etc. A nice story but I think it's the whole point that she has a knack for getting ready and encapsulates viewers, but this is about fashion and beauty, but also persona. Thanks Alex!! Loving any eye makeup you do, but yellow today straight up BOOMIN'..
Hi Alex! The makeup looks great. So sorry to hear about your moving experience..that was just a shitshow! It's over now and now you can laugh about it. Hope you are loving your new apartment❤
Ex con and drug addicts have nothing to do with this. ANYONE could be shitty at their job. I know many ex cons and drug addicts who take their jobs extremely serious especially after the hell we fought to be free from. You just got a shitty bunch. And you're totally entitled to share your experiences, however if you'd please look into the recovery community and what we fight for, you'd be motivated to help remove the stigma. Be blessed 🙏
So sorry you had to go through all that with the movers. Moving is stressful enough and when you are dealing with inept individuals it makes it worse. Better times ahead in your new space!! Happy birthday!!!
Urgh, I hate moving but your story sounds especially stressful! Love the look as usual! If you’ve only just got into the British Bake-off, have you watched Afterlife? (Ricky Gervais dark comedy)
Man, what a drama with those moving people! What kind of mover objects to moving things? Crazy. I’m glad you managed to get settled in and relatively well before your birthday; hope it was a good one. For content, I would be keen to see a mask-proof makeup video. I have a sneaking suspicion that you may already have done one though?
Objecting to moving things happens, & from someone who worked in moving, they were complaining bc moving things. Other ppl packed is the worst for them. Bc it's a totally different situation & false theft claims are made WAY more often then legit claims on those moves.
I had a horror moving experience in June. We used the same company 4 years ago, and they were amazing. This move was a shit show. They actually asked if they could come back the next day to unload. Um…all our furniture is in your truck…no. I wrote an email detailing all the issues. The owner called me, explaining how hard it is to find good employees now. I know that’s true, but it was ridiculous. He did give me a partial refund. Worth a try.
As someone who used to move constantly and deal with movers as a job, these guys are definitely not professionals. So many red flags that would not fly with the company we work with. I’m getting second hand stress just from hearing your story.
Love the Great British Bakeoff. My daughter and I were bingeing this weekend and were going back and forth between that and Peakey Blinders. I know, couldn't get two more extremely different shows but we're suckers for pretty much anything with an accent.
Omg! So I moved the same time as you. I had a couch delivered the other day, (to my new place) and they tore my floor up with the legs, then blamed the floors. Thankfully I did my main move with a uhaul and some family. (STILL SO STRESSFUL) My stepdad actually broke the legs off my book case… but, you can at least yell at family, without feeling so guilty. Bless your heart, I’d have lost my shit as well. Happy your all settled in! Shit, happy I’m (for the most part) settled in. Yeah Moving sucks. ✍️ I’m watching the newest season of Shameless.
I'm so sorry this happened to you! This was so disgusting, i think you handled it pretty well. No one likes confrontation, and it's so hard when people are incompetent.
I never knew you were from NH! I’m in NH and grew up here. I moved down south for about 17 years after high school, but ultimately had to move back home. There’s nothing like the beauty of NH.
First off - the finished look makes you look like a super hot bad girl cheerleader and I'm here for it 🙌 I also am not a fan of Laker colors (together lol) and you crushed that look in the end! Second - fuck moving, it's honestly the worst. I resigned for two more years in a house too small near Detroit bc I'm just not going through it again anytime soon 🤣 I've had so many horrific moving stories - it was refreshing to hear someone else, knowimg I'm not the only one who has a literal heart attack for a day straight! I loved this long story telling video just an fyi, so thanks for filming it! Hope you got to relax a bit finally and enjoyed the game! Happy Birthday!!
Omg…. I feel like there are so many horror stories involving movers. A few youtubers have had a ton of crazy mover stories. So … ill just keep on guilting my family and friends into moving my stuff 🤣🤣
I've moved many times. In England, if you pay by credit card and have issues with the company you can ask the credit card company to cancel the payment. Happy Birthday.
Was it Bellhops? I hired a three man team once and only ONE showed up. So between he and I, we moved everything in my two bedroom apartment. EVERYTHING. Mind you I had boxed and wrapped everything hoping to make the process less stressful. The second man (who was the supervisor mind you) showed up when the apartment was empty. He ran into my apartment to the bathroom like a maniac, then proceeded to boss the guy who had helped me around. Like, sir, you JUST got here and haven't done anything and you have the nerve to boss the only useful person here around? The third showed up at the new place, during the unpacking. Literally the worst most stressful shit day of my life and their motto was "sit back and relax" lmao I made them refund alot of the money I paid. Even so it wasn't enough, I'm actually still mad about that. That one guy who did his job deserved to be commended for that. HOW was he not the supervisor?
Moving company’s are the worst, my grandma hired a company and they upcharged cause we had 6 stairs and had a couple extra boxes. They were also 2 weeks late on delivery, we moved from Arizona to Montana
CBC market place did a story on shady moving companies that would literally hold your stuff hostage until you paid them more than the original price. Sometimes 50% more than the original agreed upon price... this is in Canada. Just an FYI.
OMG, those glitter brows are bomb. I've heard a few murmurs about there being some trend of colored or glittered brows, but haven't seen anything like that on channels I watch. First time seeing it and I love this particular rendition. The whole look is just beautiful. The Hindash liner looks great, too. Moving is the worst, and made even more so by winding up with awful "help." So sorry for such an awful day. I feel for ya.
My aunt and uncle have had their belongings stolen from them TWICE when moving across the country! The first time they stole a couple of boxes and the second time they took all of their valuables!! They think it's because they had written what was on the boxes for their own convenience, but it ended up biting them in the ass. Never Ever Trust a moving company and label all of your boxes 1-50 and make sure you have everything in your new place before you let them leave! If you don't take pictures and have proof of what all you had they will get away with it so so so easily. & I agree, as much as it sucks, if you're a woman make sure you have a friend or man there with you as backup - you never want the movers to know that you're a single female living alone when they have your address!!
Wow, that’s a nightmare. My moving experience was great. I was the slow one. Lol. My movers swooped in and wrapped everything in plastic wrap and quilted blankets. They got things on dollys and moved things in like 3 hours. From a condo on the 3rd floor! They even covered the elevator so they wouldn’t damage it.
Glad you added the glitter brows! What a fun look for a basketball game! Yikes! What a headache of a move. Hopefully, you’re enjoying your new place now that hassle is over.
What an horrendous experience, but now you're finally in ! Hope you had a good Birthday and so pleased to hear you're enjoying the GBBO (Great British Bake Off.) Love from 🇬🇧😘
Yes I love the great British bake off! I just started watching it with my daughter. I’m glad you are feeling better! I’m sorry about your moving experience that sounds like a nightmare. Congrats on the new place! Makeup is gorgeous as always!
Hi Alex, can you tell us about your new place? Did you fix your couch or get it replaced? Are you happy with your new space? You made that palette work👍👌
Happy birthday. 31 is young. Enjoy everything while you can. Remember every birthday is a good one as you are still alive. Thank you. May you please take care and stay safe.
My roommate and I had almost the exact same situation when we moved earlier this month. Absolute worst moving experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve moved more than 10 times (I’m only 23). They definitely fucked you over in almost every way they could and you shouldn’t have had to deal with it. Movers bitching about MOVING, especially when you’ve already done all the work but the heavy lifting, is ENRAGING.
Happy Birthday Scorpio Babe! So sorry to hear about that truly ridiculous nightmare move, but glad that your cold is easing up. Hope you get settled into your new place soon and get to enjoy a gorgeous cosy autumn in your new home (:
oh. my. god. this story sounds so similar to a move i did in brooklyn about 12 years ago. complained about every single thing, and i literally had everything in boxes taped perfectly (cause i'd moved ten times already), labeled clearly with arrows 'this side up', all that crap. Whined all day about having to do their actual job that cost me $2000. THEN on the way to the new place I see they're not behind me anymore and they call and say 'we can't take this road because it's considered a highway and we're not allowed to drive highways.' SO FIGURE IT OUT DUDE! I'm cringing inside hearing this. secondly- since i've been using your underwing trick, i don't know what to call it, i'm in LOVE with my eyes again! and third of all- this new contouring that you taught us has changed my life!!! I have the identical skintone to you, light olive, same foundation shades, all that, and when I use both of these tricks together, i'm like a freakin goddess. yep, i called myself a goddess, cause you taught this old dog some new hot tricks!
Happy birthday 🎈 GaaaaaaaH I’m so sorry about your horrible moving day experience! I am all about rehabilitation and helping others to get back on their feet. I think it’s a great thing but there has to be a limit as well. One rehabilitation person per three person crew. Definitely the lead crew person needs to be many years through the rehabilitation process and show good strong leader ship. You guys should’ve never had to of endured what you did. The glitter brows are totally cute and I’m so jealous about the lime crime lip pencil. I love that look and you rock it!
im OBSESSED with this look like if you hadn't tod us that you haven't done your makeup in a while i wouldn't have known it, not even in a million years
1. Happy Birthday! 2. Moving is a nightmare, I'm so sorry and please get a partial refund. It takes such restraint that you didn't call them out by name and honestly they need to pay for professional repair to the couch legs and the entryway damage. I know you're not confrontational, girl I will call them for you. I will literally be the go-between because I am so upset that they took advantage of you like that and put you through such a horrible situation that you did not deserve. If you decide to fight back, we got you!
Condescending
I had a very similar experience to A’s. When the movers arrived I thought to myself, this just isn’t good. But, like A said, at that point you’re pretty much screwed bc what do you? You have to be out of there, so you just have to go on a wing and a prayer. The guys I hired were very similar to her experience. And at the end, they charged me more than we agreed upon. I didn’t want to pay the add’l amt they tacked on, but my Dad told me to go ahead and pay it to avoid these jerks coming back and doing something out of spite.
Nothing like people complaining about a job they are hired to do. Ugh I woulda been so annoyed
I've only used a mover once before and they were from a program helping recovering addicts just like yours but holy crap. We had the complete opposite experience! There were like 5 dudes moving us out of this tiny apartment and they were so nice and so fast. I'm so sorry your guys weren't taking it seriously!
I've used a similar company before and it was the only positive moving experience I've ever had, nothing but stress from 'regular' movers 🙃
I felt stressed just HEARING about this omg

Oh my gosh 😐
WHAT!🤯 Omg, this one!
THIS STORY!!?? Takes the cake...by far, the worst horror moving story I've ever heard.
I am forever forewarned - never, ever, ever agree to a
'split move' .. EVER!🤨
(and the worst part - the thing that just destroys any belief in 'humanity'...these lowlife creeps in TN, claiming they 'never received'
Jeeze, worst nightmare moving story ever🤯 so sorry this happened to you 😢
Okay. I will never complain about moving again now that I’ve read that. oof
Geez.
Holy shit. That's awful. I'm so sorry.

^THIS^
Ya look stunning, lady.
Woah
I always wonder how they lose the most random stuff.
I tend to not like name and shame stuff but in this situation I do agree that they shouldn’t be hired by other people until they’ve understood how upsetting their behaviour was. To them it may have been just another day but these are people who are feeling distressed by their actions.
I think it's important to share details when you've had a bad experience, that way other people can be spared the stress of dealing with that company.
@@cailinanne omg you have no idea how much I appreciate this. Thank you for seeing me, thank you for saying that, like 😭🥰. Sending love to you too
I'm thinking Alex was disgusted at their behavior, not that they are in recovery. I have 17 years of sobriety and I didn't get that vibe from her. But I will say to you that these men knew to suit up and show up and they did not, plus they had crappy, disrespectful attitudes. It isn't everyone's job to understand addiction recovery. It would be great but it's the addicts job to change their behavior and become a good citizen to the world.
oh boo hoo
Well, to be honest, your moving experience is pretty standard. I used to work for a company that "moved" me every 8 weeks. Obviously I lived out of a backpack but still----after the first couple of experiences, I just felt better by seeing each move as a learning experience.
Ahh adulting.. not siding with the movers. You said it you paid for it. They should move it. Im with you on that but to save you headache and money since most of the time you will
Be paying by hour.
So sorry you went through this. Glad you're all moved in and settling in now. Bless you 💕❤️ and Happy Birthday 🎉🎂
Annnnd Happy Birthday 🎊🎂🎉🎁!! I hope you enjoy your special day in the new apartment with those you love. 🥰
I have so many moving stories (we moved like 15 times in 16 years!) I am here for this story! Got my coffee at hand…here we go.
Agreed, had to help my sister move and stuff not in boxes are a PITA.
@@jessicastevens5782 what a horrible story, I'm sorry! I hope your next move is much better!💖
@@jessicastevens5782 'dreading it'? 😫 only dreading? I'd be over-the-top paranoid af, convincing myself 'no-need-to-move, no-need, no-need' in the most hellish living environment, rather than face yet another horror story move.
For what it's worth, I've heard this company 'Two Men & A Truck' (that's just the name
'2 Men' but not really only 2 guys show up) is an great option, highly professional, excellent reputation.
And they are all over the US -franchised in 45 states, Canada, & UK.

Love the glitter brows! I hope you gave the movers a really detailed online review. I just moved recently and it was nothing like you experienced.
Happy birthday Alex! Hope you can finally relax and get settled in your new place and have a great day ! 💜
Very pretty

Even though you’re not in the best place you still pull off beautiful!
I’m here for this Alex☺️
So sorry you had to go through all that with the movers. Moving is stressful enough and when you are dealing with inept individuals it makes it worse. Better times ahead in your new space!! Happy birthday!!!
Happy belated Birthday!!! 🥳💖 Your makeup looks amazing!! Sorry to hear you had such a crappy moving experience, but at least it's over! 🙌
Your building manager sounds like an OG
I had a horror moving experience in June. We used the same company 4 years ago, and they were amazing. This move was a shit show. They actually asked if they could come back the next day to unload. Um…all our furniture is in your truck…no. I wrote an email detailing all the issues. The owner called me, explaining how hard it is to find good employees now. I know that’s true, but it was ridiculous. He did give me a partial refund. Worth a try.
Come on... Atrocious... It's really hard to find good movers, that's true!
Wtf
As someone who used to move constantly and deal with movers as a job, these guys are definitely not professionals. So many red flags that would not fly with the company we work with. I’m getting second hand stress just from hearing your story.
Love the Great British Bakeoff. My daughter and I were bingeing this weekend and were going back and forth between that and Peakey Blinders. I know, couldn't get two more extremely different shows but we're suckers for pretty much anything with an accent.
Why does this comment feel offensive..
@@edenjaycollins6055 You're hardcore anti-baking, strongly dislike disparate genre' overlap, and have an accent? I don't know.
I love a lot of British shows too. Doc Martin, Father Ted ( I guess it's Irish) the Great British Bakeoff to name a few.
I resigned for two more years in a house too small near Detroit bc I'm just not going through it again anytime soon 🤣
I've had so many horrific moving stories - it was refreshing to hear someone else, knowimg I'm not the only one who has a literal heart attack for a day straight!
I have moved so many times and this is giving me anxiety. But, your makeup is on point. Please teach me!!!
I've moved many times. In England, if you pay by credit card and have issues with the company you can ask the credit card company to cancel the payment.
Happy Birthday.
Happy birthday and hope you enjoy the rest of your life in your new home
This is the most animated I’ve ever seen you!
Literally the worst most stressful shit day of my life and their motto was "sit back and relax" lmao
I made them refund alot of the money I paid.
Loving the background color!!
God bless you for loving great British baking show. I just adore you xoxo
I love how you are soooo worked up every second work is ‘like’…..and the really important thing is how have the cats settled in the new place?
So sorry you went through that, I hope you feel better with your recovery and the move being over.
I’m sorry for your terrible, painful move. Moving is sooo stressful. Glad you are feeling better and HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂
The glowy skin with the GLITTER BROWS??!! So so pretty and ethereal😍
I am loving Full Bloom on HBO. Tha colors and textures of all the flowers is so nourishing, I think you’d love it.
Your makeup looks beautiful! I hope someday you have your own beauty products because I would definitely buy.. you’re a real one girl 🙌💕
Glad you added the glitter brows! What a fun look for a basketball game!
Yikes! What a headache of a move. Hopefully, you’re enjoying your new place now that hassle is over.
I feel this, moving stress turns me into a different person
What an horrendous experience, but now you're finally in ! Hope you had a good Birthday and so pleased to hear you're enjoying the GBBO (Great British Bake Off.) Love from 🇬🇧😘
Yes I love the great British bake off! I just started watching it with my daughter. I’m glad you are feeling better! I’m sorry about your moving experience that sounds like a nightmare. Congrats on the new place! Makeup is gorgeous as always!
Ugh! I am so sorry this happened to you! Especially when you were sick! Glad you’re feeling better and you’re all moved in. Love u!!
Happy birthday, purdy lady! May your 31st year be filled with adventure, happiness, and no more ex-con movers!! 🥳 😆
I’m ready for this story!!
omggg i got an ear infection too! i haven’t been legitimately sick in years. this one threw me for a loop lol
glad you’re feeling better ❤️
God damn! I'm so sorry. 💚
I hope you have a really good birthday and it brings a new and much better year.
oh. my. god. this story sounds so similar to a move i did in brooklyn about 12 years ago. complained about every single thing, and i literally had everything in boxes taped perfectly (cause i'd moved ten times already), labeled clearly with arrows 'this side up', all that crap.
Happy birthday 🎈
GaaaaaaaH I’m so sorry about your horrible moving day experience!
Happy Birthday Alex! Love the glitter brows!! F$#k moving...so glad you made it through!
im OBSESSED with this look like if you hadn't tod us that you haven't done your makeup in a while i wouldn't have known it, not even in a million years
