My Dad introduced me to Jerry's music when I was young, All he said was if you like music you should listen to this guy, been listening to him ever since. Thank you Mr Lewis for giving my ears delight for over 40 years !!!!
Killer by name...... The ability,outrage,performances and true (from the Bible to the Bottle and back again.... several times) lifestyle over the decades,puts him up there at the top of the Rock n' Roll tree. ALL that followed,were in his shadow..... He was the one and only, KILLER!!
Don Everly is another legend still alive. Hall of Fame along with deceased brother Phil. David Crosby considers them as perhaps the best ever singing harmonies.
Just to put his reception into historical context - at the time the Beatles were at their height yet this guy could still generate this kind of excitement and crowd response.

Disregarding a superb performance by the one and only Jerry, I must once again point out the relevance of the young woman with the nice breasts in the first audience shot. This posting illustrates my previous comments illustrating the ''sex for shots'' mindset of the cameramen of the time. Close-ups of this young woman feature in many of the musical shows broadcast at the time, they have never been thoroughly investigated but they should because they demonstrate that, in exchange for sex, the cameraman would feature a young woman in close-up. Savile and his crew at work...
I read his book "in his own words" coulle yrs ago. I am now listening to it on spotify. Jerry Lee Lewis is my favorite all time rock star. He embodies what a rock n roll star is. I am 45 years old and i been listening to him since i was very young. I remember sitting in front of my parents record player and lustening to him, Cash, Elvis over and over and over. Anytime i was around a piano ias a youngster i would drive ppl nuts trying to bang on piano like i had seen him do LOL. he truly is an original, THE best.
