Good advice here. At my last job, anytime I asked for time off, the law partner would laughingly say NO! in a sarcastic way. I'm glad to be self-employed now. Thanks for all your advice.
That's just mean. That's almost bullying. It's like their laughing at you for being too human that you need a time off. I'm glad you're away from that person now.
It’s sad that so many people in so many countries have to feel this bad. They’re our vacation days. I understand that we need to let the employer know. However, we shouldn’t be ashamed to request our days off. Just make sure give a minimum of 2-3 weeks.
I don't ask to use the time my company gives as time off as part of our total compensation. I tell my manager I'm taking this block of time off, with appropriate lead-time of course so coverage can be placed. If coverage isn't in place, it's not my fault, and not my problem either.
I am hesitant in asking for extension of my leave , I have health issues and I am really nervous of how to be frank and ask them for leave , any advice please
Is it a job where you have sick days? Vacation time????? Why should you have to ask permission AHEAD of time to use time that’s been granted to you? Everything that’s mentioned in this video seems rational, but guess what??? The flip side of that is your employer isn’t rational, despite your efforts! Any advice on that?

Thanks for watching. No asking anyone for permission to take time off is one of the benefits of being self employed as you have already discovered.
@@ArkadyItkin yes, totally! I'm working from home in comfortable clothes today, watching some youtube!

Its funny but there are willing to fire you at any given day. Then just give you a temporary time off.

If your employer refuses to grant time off with reasonable notice, this might be a good time to look at other job opportunities.
