The LSU loss was because of the refs. Yeah, a lot of people try to use that kind of excuse in losses--but anyone who watched that particular game would agree.
Let’s not get too excited yet. SC is past the roughest part of their schedule but will have to play well to beat aTm, Vandy, Mizzou, and Clemson. Even Wofford is not a guaranteed win because SC has already shown that it can give ballgames away. I love this team and it’s upside but it has to play clean games to win.
@@theonlykog Any team that gives up four turnovers and a dozen penalties is beatable. Coach Beamer has said many times that we have to do better to win. It is just as true versus Wofford as it will be versus SEC foes.
Without OU throwing up on itself in the first 5 minutes, South Carolina probably loses in the game. I only say this because OU somehow outgained SC with the 128th ranked offense and a QB change mid game.
Thank you JD for bringing the light to South Carolina! I believe we could win a championship and there would still be the disrespect…it’s GR8 to be a Gamecock!
We still need big bodies on the O-line. We'll get there. I just hope we can maintain on defense for next year. We're graduating a lot of talent after this season.
Keep doing your job Shane. Let people write their stories. I predicted 7 preseason wins. I knew the defense would be good , but they have exceeded all expectations. The offense is showing improvement. We're on the right track. The LSU game still stings. Considering the mess you took over , you've done your part.
I am a huge gamecock fan, and I say pump the brakes fellow gamecocks. The D’s pass rush is great, stopping the run and giving up big plays at times still is an issue. The O line is horrid and the offense is poor and very inconsistent. If Beamer wants to improve this team going forward he will have to address those 2 issues. Probably by firing some coaches and Beamer has a soft heart. He’s too nice and probably won’t do it. That’s his biggest problem.
OU's in free fall right now. Beating them is not a major accomplishment this year, it's more like an expectation. And their offense is bad enough for them to fire their OC mid-season.
JD, slow down. As a lifelong Gamecock fan, I appreciate Beamer for coming here when NO ONE literally wanted to come here. I was the only Gamecock fan telling everyone that Clayton White should stay our DC. Wasnt worrier about them at all. Our problem is Dowell Loggains. I will not overlook him bc our great defense overwhelmed and underwhelming OU team. Offense is putrid. No scheme, no rhythm, and no creativity. So again, slow down from the praise. That win changed nothing in my mind.

It doesn't feel like they throttled them. OU offense sucks and handed SC 21 points on 3 turnovers within the first 5 minutes. After a QB change (again...), OU at least avoided the devastating mistakes that are turnovers, particularly those that lead to defensive scores. I guess what I'm saying is, both teams are probably average at best, and this game was basically decided on 3-4 plays because the OU offense is so inept. Otherwise, the rest of the 97% of the game was evenly matched.
Not being a sunshine pumper by no means. The offense needs work big time (especially that line) and Sellers needs to continue to prove he is over his TO bug, but all that said you play call completely differently when you are up 21-0 after the 1st 5 mins of the game and your D is controlling the flow of the game completely. There is no need to make super risky calls or put Sellers in positions to make the mistakes he is so prone to do. The play calling was super pedestrian for the whole game on offense because there was no need to get silly and give turnovers to OU to let them back in the game.
@@fredgilbert2032 That's entirely true, but it doesn't change the fact that nothing too remarkable happened the last 54 1/2 minutes of the game. It goes back to the fact that the OU offense is so terrible, if you score 21 off turnovers in the first 5 minutes, you CAN cruise the rest of the game and avoid any high-risk play. You can remove about 2/3 of your play book. I'm just saying it feels much more like OU threw up on themselves (again) then that they got throttled. To be honest, it doesn't matter. It's not sunshine pumping, because either way SC didn't make those mistakes and capitalized on OU's mistakes. That's how you handle your business and get a W. It's just wild that a team's offense can be so inept that they get outscored 14-9 by the other teams defense. Think about that. The SC defense scored more in 5 minutes than OU could in 60. OU has some major issues on that side of the ball.
Can’t start a fire without a spark. I think this year is the spark South Carolina football needed. I see 7-5 or 8-4. Gonna be hard to beat Clemson, Mizzou, Vandy and A&M, but this defense definitely gives us a punchers chance. Especially with the atmosphere of Willy B vs Mizzou and A&M
