Me too. If closed the top, then too low the place near the table, to eating. And why not show the second double bed? Who planned this , never lived in motorhome. Cabrio just in summer good, but then have millions beetle, mosquito at night.
The front looks so dramatic from the outside but once you're inside there's almost no room to move around. Half the unit seems designed for the seated passengers. All those stairs are awkward, the second bed looks like a pain to put together every night. It's a fun start, but layout and funtionality could use some serious rethinking
It is such a great idea. The cab and interior is a bit 70s, but I quite like that. In the future there won't be a gear-stick because it will have an electric motor.
It's a unique concept. Thanks for the time and effort. It seems the front floor is decimeters higher than original. This means people sit quite a bit higher than normal. I wonder which people are comfortable with sitting way up high while riding in a car which is probably still on regular driving license. I'd think pensionado's might find it too high. Please keep us updated on this special camper.
Neat idea and implementation. You will have those afraid of nature needing a bug net. Not the most pretty but a neat idea. I do not know the rules for weight and height on a camper in Europe but it would be nice as a 4 wheel drive you can take on trails and get the real star experience at night. A rain sensor to automatically close would be neat. The garage door is good for loading a bike, a side opening is helpful for loading boxes and crates, a ramp is nice for a moped a heavier bike or a dirt motorcycle if off road so you will never please everyone. Nice quick review. Thank you.
Thanks Alan for doing this tour. I really do like the concept of this. When parked up you're going to get a great view of your surroundings. Especially good for nosing and people watching when on site. The open roof will definitely make being a rear seat passenger a bit different / better. But whenever I see a motorhome with internal cupboards and work surfaces all square and not rounded off - it just looks like they bought and fitted flat-pack units from Ikea. They look harsh with corners designed to remove skin from hips. It doesn't seem to be finished off very well. I think they have missed a trick with the rear garage door. If it was higher then it would be very useful to stand underneath from the rain whilst getting stuff out. As it is its too low and means you have to awkwardly stoop when using the garage. That would get on my nerves. I imaging this wont be cheap but the bathroom looks like its a pod that just been plonked in. I'm surprised the gear stick doesn't project out of the dashboard like it does on my Ducato but that is probably something to do with the engine position.
Geoff, thanks for commenting. This van can be manufactured to order, the furniture is minor point as people could have what they wanted inside. The point here is the cabriolet function with the sliding roof!
i guess im randomly asking but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Lennon Vihaan i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Good evening Alan, this is a fantastic concept but there are still some open points: the thermal isolation is week due to single glasses at the front, sleeping open air is nice but not without any mosquito protection 😬. And the garage back door makes it very difficult to put a scooter into it. I hope to see some solutions for these topics in the future.
I appreciate your points Volker - I would not want to sleep without mosquito protection but I don't really see how that can be achieved - of course one can sleep with the roof down. I take your point about the isolation. However I would have thought it easier to get a bicycle in the back when it opens like that, maybe because a scooter is heavier that is a problem!
@@VanlifewithAlan Perhaps just a giant roof skylight like the Heki style - but allowing for the 'glass' bit to be detached or folded back would be the solution. I've still yet to see any design that doesn't force you to open the netting to close the windows however :)
The gear stick rising when you turned on ignition key is like my D erect when looking at the motorhome... But then it lowered again like the gear stick just like when I see the price...
Sorry not my cup of tea. The garage door opening up is ok for shorties but could be problematic for tallies. Wondering if side opening might have been a better comprise.
A nice idea, but perhaps a sliding pop-top would do the job on a smaller PVC? It would be good to see the stars properly but not to have to buy an A-class to do it!
I feel.like.it needs to be longer, and the outside frontngives the impression.there should be a bed below the drive deck... alas.. lost opportunity there.
The description of the 2nd bed got short shrift. Spent much too much time talking about stuff like the gear shift and not enough about the two tables and the 2nd bed, which is mentioned at 10:12. Horribly cumbersome. I think the mattress for it is in the closet shown at 5:50, when he surmised that stuff in it was for the trade show. The whole design seems to be a lot of wasted space, awkward layout, the living area almost an afterthought once they designed the panoramic front of the chassis.
Now this Motorhome screams out " pinch me, pinch me" to the would be Motorhome thief's but even then I'm sure the thief's would feel short changed once they see inside. It Looks lovely and very unusual from the outside until you opened the garage then that tells me how plain this Motorhome is going to be and I was right. Sorry maybe good for the minimalist but not really practical.
Probably not easy to keep clean. The price seems for older people, up the stairs down the stairs. The storage seems hard to use. And lots of lost space.
From the thumb nail I thought it was "telescopic" increasing space. But instead it looks like the "Grizwalds" designed it. The lay out and fittings are crapola.
I saw this, great idea (I like riding high) terrible design (crouching in a motorhome--wha!?) You will notice that when the top is closed the driver and passengers are in a more "mini van" like environment. The ceiling is LOW, I would not trade an open roof part of the time for a mini van feel all time, no way. Terrible waste of space with so much area under the false floor inaccessible. The over all impression is very "conversionish" with that hardware store feel (note the aluminum trim on the really rough slide out stair case). Ya, no.
I think the opposite. The outside is exciting and unique; the inside a clusterflub. Almost an afterthought once they came up with the panoramic viewing area.
This has to be the most atrocious layout of a motorhome...wet bath and you have to move the seats to make the 2nd bed? Really?!? You dont have to do any of that BS with an over cab bed...
Interesting overview, your camera skills are lacking to say the least though. Also, you talk without conveying any useful info, either write up a script or just shut up.
I came here to see the roof open and close, I want my 13 mins back!

I love it

Way cool motorhome. Plus if anyone eats tacos, you can keep the top open.
Quirky at least - and the gear-stick makes the mind boggle! 🙂
It is such a great idea. The cab and interior is a bit 70s, but I quite like that. In the future there won't be a gear-stick because it will have an electric motor.
I love this thing!
The gopro superwide view might be better suited for interior shots but the work flow will be a little more troublesome

What is the intended use for the low space in the very front of the motor home???
Best for winter season ..

Make it automatic and scrap the gear stick :-)

I simply love this camper. Is the road noise bad when the roof is closed?
wish I could have this
Does the roof top have a mosquito or insect screen if I keep it open?
Brilliant a proto type just pimple this one if money was nobject I would pimple a union the same way .

Nicely done Alan. Disappointed in the lack of exterior storage compartments on either side.
The outside and the front convertible looks nice but the inside looks crap.
Poor design for such a huge motorhome still having a wet bath!
why?
Give some, take some. Can't have em all. :)
I agree that is such a bad design for a rig this size
That gearstick looks like good fun. 😬
Price ?
It is a prototype, it is not available on the market.
that is really thinking outside of the van

TheMsLourdes Ok. Just get rid of the engine! 🤣
Hey, the gear stick should be at the side of the steering wheel.
It's where it belongs in the floor bc it's a manual, you are right if it was automatic.
@@timsgta OK, but there are some Vehicles with the manual shifter where I suggested. You'll see that in mainly Japanese/Korean/Chinese buses.
This is my lottery run around .
Missed the cost ? Get that it depends on options I guess but ball park figure ????
It is a prototype Colin, therefore the final price is likely to be between EUR80k - 120k depending as you say on options!
You seat 4 but only sleep 2 maybe you should bring a tent for the other 2

Make skyline automatic only with buttons on dash or side rest like buses

Did they get the Melamine from B&Q screw heads showing too with cheap cord carpet in the under floor storage, won't be ordering one of them..
Cheap cord carpet? I have been a carpet fitter for 35 years, I can't tell if its cheap or not. I guess you must have more experience than me.
Needs a bit of final touches bigger wheels for a start
This got raised "quite considerably"...lol
Hate the standard transmission; that would be a dealbreaker. Design it with an Allison transmission and drive happy.
The griswold motorhome
Men if I hit the lotto that’s the first thing I’m going to buy 😍😍😍😍😍😍😱
Back up cameraman so we can see something.
Why is the rear storage space called a garage ??, hardly a garage more like "a bit of storage space" !!!
looks like ikia
Muy grande y una sola cama
I think i will pass on the ugly branch styling and the 1980s budget hotel interior.
Witch licence do you need for the sundancer?
Normal driving licence for a car. It is under 3,500kg.

Not great design, especially the wheels, too small.but maybe in their country it wont become a problem🤔😊
Nice idea but it's the ugliest MH I've ever seen.
That is one ugly looker from the outside but the set up looks good & I like the big garage

Once I heard Fix It Again Tony (FIAT), I’m out. Can’t and won’t care
I have been driving it for five years and Tony has had to fix the gearbox once and the starter twice. That is it.
That is one ugly vehicle. I'm not one for posting negative comments but this thing is, in my opinion, a fail.
Love the outside. The inside was where it failed.
I like the idea, but it looks like it uses cheap materials and equipment, while being poorly constructed. Shame.
