Not everything here is aquaponics and rocket mass heaters. The property is also used for traditional farming too. This year a mixture of timothy, red clover, and oats are being planted.

Those are Connecticut potatoes. A new crop comes out of the soil every spring. It is nice to see a farmer making it easier on his equipment. Too many farmers just left the rocks that ended up damaging their equipment.
When building my house, my place was so bad that I had to strip off the top 2 feet and screen off everything bigger than 3". I lost a third of my volume. Luckily I was able to get truck loads of mushroom compost until the plant closed. I was just doing a yard, the guys doing fields have huge jobs.
Farming in CT was always tough. That is why much of it was abandoned in the early 1800s because people went west for much better land. Of the area farms that were working 40 years ago, there is only about 10% of them still working. I hope that the working farms can keep going. Good Luck
We use our rock rake for landscaping on our farm. Our concrete guy's mouth dropped when he saw how it levels the ground in one pass. It takes them hours to do a gravel pad.
Man that's a lot of rocks. But having the right equipment cleaned the field up nicely. Well done.
what size pebbles do you plant when seeding to harvest the rocks?
so simple and clever very well done
thanks for sharing
Ive lived in Conn. most of my life and see this everywhere. You can do that year after year and still come up with more.
I live in rural New England, there are alot of sustenance farmers that sell veggies in front of their property on the honor system, select what you want then leave the money in the can, seems to work just fine and the prices are better than the super market...
Now looked like a few years work for me and mine and a few hours for yall Good job!
What an absolute beast of a tractor dragging the Harrow, allis Chalmers? Thanks for sharing
Looks like a fine crop of rocks this winter. We've had a nice crop of those and potholes this year. Getting the rocks harvested and putting in vegetables this weekend. Who says I don't know how to rotate!? HAHAHA. :)
yes leave the door open to get as much dirt as possible in the cab
Very nice process have never see how that was done before. Now we know why there are so many old stone walls in New England !!
Keep the info and updates growing our way :-{}
I always wondered how you grow and harvest rocks.
Rhin0Neil New England is known for her rocky soil. That and trying to wrestle with hardwood roots makes digging or making a garden a real pain in the ass.
I do support my local farmer. The other week I bought some food. That wasn't fish. But I do eat a lot of fish.
Best part is that there will be a fresh crop of rocks next year!
Interesting. Thanks for showing us this.
adoro ver esses vídeos
lembro das minhas fazendas no Paraná
All ready for the next crop of rocks
Looks like you've got plenty of tractor for that first disk. : )
You can always tell a Chalmers man. ; )
We've got 3.
this is old tech. There is new machine to picking up stones working like rotovator and the store the stones ın their own
I ALWAYS leave my door open so I can haul more dust! 👍
That field must be pretty green now with all the rain we had.
whats the point of the slotted bucket if you dont shake the dirt out?
whats the best way to cook rock is year?
yup those machinces sure work hard. And yup those machines are expensive.
Use a open toothed scoop to sift dirt then fill it so full and toss all the dirt away
I'd like to do that... How do I get started...? Gordon
i am farmer from punjab india farming good work dont durty work i am tuch every day natural
Picking rocks by hand is very hard work but provides you a clean pile of stone you can use to make concrete (the small ones) or beautiful rustic walls (the big ones).
Yes we can pick rocks just spending we are picking rocks with the help of our tractor whats app me to know +91 nine nine six seven four one two six three six.
Where do you get the rock seeds for next years crop of rocks. L
.O .L .😎😎
Believe me . Your next generation is going to enjoy farming over there. You are preparing for them.... 👍
These rocks are gently picked and then returned to nature , in a conservation effort.
Got most of the dust in the truck cab, should get the rest on the next load!
Should really close the truck door, and windows,
on this job.
awesome vid
They're best served raw with a pinch of salt.

Very useful Tecnology
I wish a small version of these tools was available to get the rocks out of my vegetable garden.
Its called a rake :0)

The Ford had a Detroit in it.
Gotta love rocks, eh?
Why throw away all that topsoil?
I would of shut the door on the dump truck and rolled up the window. Were spoiled here in central Illinois with our black dirt. What was on that land before you harvested the rocks?
There was corn here for a few years. We have to rotate the crops every few years to before planting the timothy it has to get raked each time. Rocks are a never ending crop!
door open in the truck, sloppy workers
It ripped off by now .Some dude backing into a shed need to open the door to take a look .The mirrors are for getting ready after work.

Nice
I'm pretty sure there's more rocks than actual soil here in NH...
So that's why I never find arrowheads in those fields.
he takes a lot of soil as well , ..do that for a few years and you have no farm left !
The load probably gets sifted with soil returned or otherwise sensibly used.
Way to dust out the cab of that truck! 👍
Parabéns
No Trespassing is the only thanks I get for supporting my local farmers.
Grandpa Pete That sign in some cases is to mean
Super danke
Get'er done...looks like the city folk showed up in the comments.
dwhollrah
So true, made me laugh 😂
Might want to see how the Canadians do it. They know how to pulverize the rocks and keep trace elements in the soil.
Put the side panels back on the 7580 and show it some respect
If it were mine, I would. We lease the fields out to another farm...all their stuff looks like that. :(
Bigelow Brook Farm (Web4Deb) They have the panels off because it's getting hot, they need to replace the foam seals around the radiator and it won't heat up anymore

Breathing that dust all day must be Greta for your lungs. No respirator?
Subsolador bom de mais
Rocks are being sent to the rehab.
another awesome vid!! doesn't new England jist GROW!!! ROCKS..ABOUT THE SEEDS....HAOW DO YOU KNOW THAT NONE OF YERS ARE GMO??
you all know there is another way to pick rock? bend over and throw them on a loader scoop and its good exercise also i have picked hundred of tons by hand. south dakota has rocks also and we are careful about hauling our top soil off in trucks.
Dirty 30's video ??
wow that is terrible soil. in fact it is barely even dirt.
Can't you just use a potato harvester?
I worked on one as a young man and they lifted tons of rocks with the potatoes, stupid farmers just let them go back on the land, but I did get myself some nice Roman pottery pieces I managed to sell to a local antique shop.
I PICKED UP ROCKS FOR MANY YEARS AND DESTROYED MY BACK . TOO BAD I DIDNT HAVE THIS GADGET
Way too much soil wastage
My mobile cleaned twice due to dust
close the door on the cab of the truck while you're loading dirt in the back of it all that does going to be all inside the cab of that truck what a mess you are going to make
Gollum: Oh yes we could. Spoilin' nice fish. Give it to us raw and w-r-r-riggling; you keep nasty chips.
todo el polvo dentro del camion
omg zetor
Shut up and take my money! ... wait i mean show me more!
Dust that driver...
Old stuff
How does someone, support their local farmer. You can't buy anything from them, because it's illegal. The stuff at the shops that does support farmers, cost a fortune. So if i did support the local farmer, i'd need someone to support me, to support them. So just wondering, how does someone support their local farmer.
most have CSAs very affordable
WHAT ARE YOU BUYING FROM FARMERS THAT IS ILLEGAL?
MARIUANA??
Farmers markets, buying saplings and berry bushes from them rather than home depot, buy sod off of em lots of stuff
surely because you live in your great and civil america, but i can tell you in the rest of the world you can freely buy from farmers
