Whale Sharko British and NZ humour r nothing alike, though. NZ humour is like the “nice-guy” humour. It’s very childish and playful, and not insulting. British is the opposite of all those things. Also, NZ humour lacks a large sense of wit compared to British. US find it appealing coz it’s more in line with their humour overall, only difference being the whole loser thing
@@shotbro4998 I can't speak for NZ, but I find Taika very reflective of the humour I'm used to in Britain, sarcastic, witty, loserish, I don't think it's much different at all, but then it's only Taika and Rose matafeo that I know of NZ humour
Whale Sharko Interesting. I live in NZ and was born in Serbia, and Serbian humour is much much more British than NZ humour, so I personally feel like my perspective on the matter is well rounded. Then again, reflecting on it, there r two types of British humour and that might be where the clash is. When I think of British humour, the first thing I ever think of is Only Fools And Horses which I think is the greatest tv show of all time. Someone else (maybe u?) might think of The Office UK which is more of a parody, in a sense and closer to the whole NZ style of comedy. Funny thing about The Office for me vs Only Fools And Horses is that despite being like a documentary, The Office feels much less real than Only Fools And Horses. But yea, I guess if this is your line of thinking and linking, I think I can c where u r coming from. Correct me if I said something wrong
@@shotbro4998 that's fair enough, I was thinking of only fools and horses (a person of quality I see, it truly is one of the best!) But also pannel shows or game shows of comedians we have, like, mock the week, would I lie to you, QI and Taskmaster
Taika is one of my new favorite filmmakers, mainly due to his personality and how he infuses himself into his stories. He's super energetic, clever, and observant. I'm obsessed.

At 2:03... "The hardest and necessary action for a filmmaker is to continually challenge himself..." Wish Fandor didn't put out content that only uses male pronouns when speaking about filmmakers.
You're right (maker of the video here). This is the second time someone commented on one of my videos for Fandor. What phrasing would you suggest? "Challenge oneself"? I do try to make an effort to use inclusive language, but as you might have noticed by the Tommy Wiseauesque voice (the internet made me aware of this, unfortunately), I'm hardly an all-American guy. I'm fighting about 30 years of using male Portuguese pronouns to categorize non-gendered substantives. I will make a note to correct this in my work and, if they haven't seen it yet, point it out to editorial team so they keep an eye out for the way we frame filmmakers.
The "loser" technique is quite a New Zealand humour plot and comedic tactic.
It's a very British trope as well, it's one of the key differences that separate the two kinds of humour

Cannot wait to see his portrayal of Hitler in Jojo Rabbit
now that its out, whatd you think? im still yet to see it lmao
„What we do in the Shadows“ is such a great movie!
Taika is one of my new favorite filmmakers, mainly due to his personality and how he infuses himself into his stories. He's super energetic, clever, and observant. I'm obsessed.
"Don't get into the Nazi stuff"
Funny because now he's playing Hitler in his new film Joho Rabbit.
He’s not playing Hitler he’s playing an imaginary version of Hitler
@Mr Critical
any fictional version of Hitler is an imaginary version of Hitler
No like literally an imaginary Hitler he’s playing a kids imaginary friend who’s the perfect image of Hitler created by Nazi propaganda
...yep and mixed in with memories of his father but still, its called Hitler so ;)

Lessons from mcu
Hire TV directors (Russo brothers, Jose wheeden)
Hire Indie directors (taika, Ryan coogler)
Hire c list actors
And give good movies

Ceares yes thank you
Thanks for this. Started appreciating Taika Waititi's genius... he's a role model.
Lesson 1. Be a loser
Me: Done

Lol
That boy!! In hunt for the wildepeople!!!! He acted in deadpool 2 right?!?
yes he did
Julian Dennison :)
Taika actually recommended him to Reynolds as the two are close friends since lantern.
The police officer is also Moana’s grandmother, go figure
Taika has super pretty eyes.
I love this man. He's a comedy genius/drama indeed
Kat R. Totally agree🔫
Can we get Taika Waititi for Deadpool 3?
Hi I’m from Australia. Taika Waitit’s films inspired me to learn and experiment with filmmaking and storytelling.
Taika Waititi is my favorite director of all time and Jojo Rabbit is also my favorite movie of all time
what we do in the shadows is my favorite movie ever
'Don't get into the Nazi stuff' - Wins an Oscar for Nazi stuff
That was great video. Sound consistency was a little bit off though. Taika Waititi is fantastic.
Did they have knowledge of jjr when adding that clip at the end?
What was that clip of the cop bleeding out from?
i love himmmm
Taika: Here, MCU fans! Have the Loki Redemption Arc you wanted! *Throws Thor: Ragnarok at fans*
Russo Brothers: *Cackling and rubbing their evil hands together as they emerge from the shadows* biTCH YOU THOUGHT
Taika sounds like Korg
I know! Weird, right?
😂
and don't forget his newest film Jojo Rabbit! Finally a comedy about growing up with parents!
Surely the parents won't die in some way, let alone by hanging, whew!
Dude the narrator tho.
Great video and edit! “Don’t get into the nutsy stuff”
jakub c. Oh right right! I do remember a bit with him talking about being sort of fascinated by the symbol. And then feeling bad and turning them into windows all over the place hah.

Also the Egypt ancient too.

The correct terminology is Andro- and Gyno-American
LOVE YOUR ESSAYS DUDE. I didn't notice it was you because you haven't posted in awhile
Thanks for being receptive to feedback. Oneself could work! Or themselves (although plural, often used as an ungendered pronoun).
Justin Trudeau would like that comment.
-We like to say Peoplekind, not necessarily Mankind.
Justin Trudeau our savior
In spanish please!!
shoud be director by dead pool maybeeeee.....
Cole Decker not a good idea bro.. The last time Taika and Ryan Reynolds were together they were in Green Latern.. and we all know how that went.. 🤐😂🤣
Terence Hikawai oh no man realy hahahahaha ok forget about it
Taika would be perfect. And he is pretty meta. I can imagine a lot of Green lantern,Thor,Shadows, wilderpeople jokes
The director did a terrible job not those two. Taika even fetched some ideas but they were ignored
Deadpool is an overrated stack of dog shit.
I really don't wanna see him directing Guardians of the Galaxy
Good, cause James Gunn is back to do GG3. It's rightfully Gunn's.
This is way too short!!!
And now Jojo Rabbit is a look into the beautiful comedy...of growing up.... without... a dad.... huh.
Someone has daddy issues.
Wow
But... but then he DID get into the Nazi stuff....
