    Awesome Ideas! Thank You. I'm trying to make my garden look like yours right now.

    Your a genius!! Great idea! I'm going to Home Depot or Lowes but thinking about using the 4"x4" vinyl fence post instead of down spouts. They are only $17 and they sell end caps for about $4. That way I can fill them up with more water. I really need the water to last 7 days because we are always out of town. It's either that or making an automatic water reservoir with a float that keeps them filled. Great job! I'm an experienced Mittleider Gardener and just now getting into hydroponics to grow indoors too.

      Sounds good. I did look up the 4x4 right now at my Home Depot and they come in 39" length $17 and there is 48" length that is is 19.98. Well I started with the rails for me seedings and propagation and its done very well for me. Then I transplant out to my garden and yard. I also just started messing with hydroponics side as I am doing some type of hybrid as I am using soil. I started with the Basil first and seems to be one of easiest to propagate and just put those mini downspouts in my window sills.. But I will eventually move some to the garden and continue some if larger reservoir. I think the lettuce, herbs, and the microgreens are what I be experimenting on with the hydro. Years ago I messed with some bigger plants in the rails and they suck up nutrients/water when it gets hot. And if it runs out things can go bad quickly. What are you planning to grow? Definitely the larger reservoirs if you are going to be gone for week. I think the auto reservoir is the best idea with the float to keep the system stable and then you just need to worry about the PH and Nutrients. I have an idea on setting an auto water system up with the small 2 x 3 downspout rails with the float as it would very similar to my RGGS. I know my idea will work I just need some time to do it!!! Because even when the larger seedling get mature they start drinking when it gets hot. Would be great if it is on autopilot!! Good luck with your grow!

      @@rufflifehydro My video might give you some more ideas. I'm using a 55 gallon barrel to feed and water my seedlings and I sell all the extra on my Farm Stand. That's where I have problems because after I transplant them into cups and put on my farm stand, they started dying because I couldn't keep them watered and fertilized all the time after I leave for work. I want to stick with using my sand and sawdust as soil because that's what I use in all my growbeds and most of the people who buy my seedlings just put them in the ground. By growing seedlings in soil, it reduces and sometimes eliminates transplant shock. That's why I looked into a Hydro or better called Hybrid-ponics system where I use the Kratky system too but with sand/sawdust or a soil I know is free of weed seeds and disease. The Mittlieder Constant Feed solution is just diluting the Mittleider Mix that consists of 16-16-16 fertilizer, Mittleider Micro Mix (the micro nutrients), and epson salt. For growbeds, we just hand feed the plants the granules but for seedlings, we use the liquid version. I think between both methods, it will solve my problem of growing seedlings and making them easy to sell without having to transplant them and also growing the smaller plants indoors in the down spouts or 4x4 fence posts. I can just put them on my farm stand and won't have to worry about watering them. ua-cam.com/video/_g3Y0VCyO3c/v-deo.html

    I see pool noodle solutions that replace all this extra work

      Well the pool noodle has some limitations on some ideas that I would like to try. If you need a cheap clone collar they would work fine. Just experimenting with some new ideas.

    When are the wood end caps going to be available?

      @rufflifehydro  Рік тому

      All those when you see are all the prototype I made as I they were being tested through out my house/garden.. I had no issue with any so far but I did make little improvements with each iteration. We just all the kids back to school I will make a batch up here shortly and put them on Etsy. They will be up there in the next week or so!

      @@rufflifehydro the only question is how much water does the wood end caps absorb? And are they treated with a stain or something to seal them?

    Run your drill in reverse and it won’t snag or catch.
