When I showed my Dad (who is a 23 year vet from U.S. Army) this, he said it brought back so many memories. He said he spent more time waiting for the enemy to attack then actually fighting. He said to me "The hardest wars are fought mentally".
A lot of guys that come out fucked up haven't even seen combat. It's from all that training and nothing to do but sweat and masturbate. Seriously. I'm glad I never deployed but at the same time I feel like a piece of shit for not deploying. 4 years and not 1 deployment, I feel like I let my fellow vets down by not deploying.
Yes that would be true..a friend of my died there...hours of boredom. ..that suddnley are very very violent ...very briefly..after the wait n see shit.. it got real..and very fast..I dont know how my pop dealt with Korea or vietnam..and said very ..very few things..when we came home shook my hand and hugged me ..and said let's a get a beer ..never did a fucking thing about over there..not once till he passed on 10 years.ago...semper fi. R.i.p pop..see ya other side
5 years and 2 deployments in the Marine Corps. Never saw combat, just sat on a fucking ship in the middle of the ocean working on jets in the Middle East. Waiting for something to happen, wishing and hoping, for nothing
As a former Marine, and a foremost Nirvana fan, who seen Iraq in 2004, this part of the movie made so much sense. Such a destitute and loathing time, so young and full of anger and thoughts. A change in understanding and compassion while confused and scared. Fuck!
Semper fucking fiMarine just remember brother you're not you're not alone we're always here for you there people out here for you man thank you for serving brother just keep your head up high don't give up and just always remember that you are loved and you are honored and you are a hero to all people for what you did I'm an airsoft marine sniper not a real Marine but in airsoft marine sniper so I can understand that is hard and your head is filled with fucking hate anger and confusion but there's always hope for you but that's why I respect Marines like you cuz there's hope don't give up semper fucking fi ohhhra
You would not have cut off the scene where he gets to knock on his girlfriend's door and when he opens it he gets the surprise from behind her. "something in the way" one of the best suspense songs brought to the big screen. Thanks for the video, it was worth it. How difficult it is to be away from home and your life (girlfriend or wife and children) to sabee that you can die in a gunfight or simply a greater misfortune, the crippled for your whole life of which I know several as well. God bless the planet where we live because human stupidity is killing him.
Hoooahhhh. Sometimes things happen in our lives, break us down. And we want to find ourselves within ourselves, get back up. Be strong withstand pain, brush it off.
No it’s not. You have your rifle, your brothers n sisters. It’s not the fucking same n you don’t end up nearly as fucked by JAIL. Please…your lucky you like Hondas but I was bout to light into your ass.

To me this songs becomes much more powerful if you know Kurt Cobain, born February 20th was a Pisces. "It's ok to eat fish, cause they don't have any feelings" makes sense to what happened in the end.

I still remember my rifle..M16.A2..and still changed my kid's diapers... unreal how the mind work's for a Marine
Been out 16 years.. 5533201 was my rifle's serial #
So many true feels. Even though that was a different war it rings true today for modern vets

Knew that somebody just haaaaad to do this, great way to inspire others to enjoy it too
I didn't understand this movie until I deployed myself... it really hits hard now.
It breaks my heart with joy to hear Kurt so honoured💜
We are still in the desert...
Seguimos en el desierto 🕊️❤️
This was well done. Thanks… I think being deployed is a lot like being a jail, you are helpless and can only do what you are told.
