Another cool idea, courtesy of Ron. As for the vice, all my life my dad always had angled pieces of metal in his vice, for the same reason you do. It makes a lot of sense.
Thanks Tom. The stock pumps last forever. I am building a bad ass zz4 copy that will use the roller cam and d port corvette heads and want to feed the beast with higher oil pressure to be safe and needed to do this!
That is an excellent tool idea and thank you for the info video. Maybe you should consider you shorten up the over talking and speed up the info process. Just me talking.
I think I would not cut off the wrench. That way, you would have a "handle" to hold your tool and your hand would be clear of the stiking force of the hammer.

Thank you Ron, This is a great idea.
Try using a 5/8" crowfoot end, and a 3/8 socket extension. To install the pick up screen. It is simple and works great.

Thanks Pal. I know you like Cadillacs. perhaps you build a bad ass motor for one some day!
I probably will never need to replace an oil pump in my car but I liked the video so you get 👍👍

I imagine a 5/8 crow's foot with an extension would work just as well?
Sure will!
Will locktight work
Why not just freeze the pickup, before fitting.
I have done that but you have to work very fast before it sets.. This gives you time to put it in the correct clocked spot needed.
