Forced supports aren't a new thing. It's the same with boss gimmicks. For example if you see Tristan taking double damage from Sabers what else could it possibly be besides a boss gimmick? And if you are very new to the game you shouldn't be trying to call anyone out

i'm trying to beat this without using any command spells but 90% of my ssr are berserker and lancer so this fight is super hard also my main archer is gil which really doesn't help
No, David at this battte is more important than Hans. You will need him to tank NP and provide attack. Plus He's an archer therefore will live longer than Hans
i believe the mental debuff immunity is permanent. you do get the np damage up, but class advantage is not as helpful as you'd like because he also has bonus damage against divine. she's better than most non-archers but not nearly enough to carry the fight alone
