Hi! my 2 cents worth based on personal observation - if it is not a mainstream production (something you would see on WeTv (aka Tencent) Iqyi, Netflix, or Viki) it is a made for the internet drama/movie. I don't know what this genre is called but there seems to be about 10-15 basic stories with various adaptions from higher end to very low end leads and production budgets. There must be a huge market for it globally (I mean I've probably seen 800 or so, why are these so dang addictive when I already know the script by heart :) or they would stop producing them. I know this isn't an answer. But it reminds me of the manga type series - no offense to those who love manga - just similar in the type and content. If you want a more complex story try mainstream.
@@klhollis2we3 Good point. Too bad such plagiairism is so rampant and acceptable in the entertainment industry. Same goes for copyright infringement. Quite funny actually. Even if they do slight modifications to the original story. You are right about there being a wide variety of quality. From the abysmal low quality to the highest quality. Mind you, the quote about copying an original is suppose to be the highest praise possible springs to mind.
I hate this plot the most because all the other Tik-tok plots are predicated on other people doing things to the leads with lying and scheming. But this plot could be resolved if the FL just opened her mouth. She is her own worst enemy. She plays the victim and the martyr. She blames the ML but honestly she could at various points just tell him who she is and all the misunderstandings would be cleared up. Especially because he so obviously likes her.

This is the 3rd version of this same exact story I've seen. Like someone else mentioned, I wonder if there's only 6 script writers in China or something because the same script is done over and over with different actors/actresses. 😂
I saw the version with Zuo Yi and I liked it because I like her and I don't know the ML's name that plays in it with her, but his boyish good looks reminds me of Wang Youshuo. Ironically, I saw this same ML (Idk his name) from this drama in a drama with her where she was a runaway bride that he picked up and he was her ML. So since he did good in that, I decided to see this Cdrama through.....again. 😂
I don't know the name of the Cdrama. I hate the English names they tried to give the characters but they do call the FL "Penny" in the regular Cdrama, that's her AKA. So I'm calling this "Penny, Design My Love" ♡ 😂😂😂 If you've seen it (or several versions like I have) you get my title.
The first Penny story I saw was with Sa Gang Yun and Bai Yan. Their chemistry was quite hot and the assistant was super funny. But the side characters on this one look better. 😂
