This place was really special Christopher. Sitting here back in the states in Idaho currently where it is 24 degrees outside right now has me thinking about these hot springs. They were amazing. ~ Eric
Thanks Marick. We're trying to find that sweet spot both for ourselves and our audience. These videos are a lot of work, but they will be a good memory keeper for Caspian. It was a really nice place and I highly recommend a visit if you ever head to Colombia. ~ Eric
I think for right now the only thing I would change is to add lockers. We’ve made it fine without them, but they would have been helpful in several situations. As far as size, DAUNTLESS has been perfect for our kind of travel. This may change as Caspian gets older. Only time will tell. ~ Eric
Appreciate it Miguel. Someday we may do that. Right now we are heading south to the tip of the continent. But eventually we'll need to come back up. Thanks for commenting on our channel and welcome to the journey! ~ Eric
LOL! So it isn't about the money. It is about the fact that the average price in that area was 20,000-30,000 per night. They like to price hike when they see foreigners so if we all pay those inflated prices, it prices out the locals who then can't afford to stay in those places. We're very careful not to do anything to negatively impact the locals. Hope that makes sense. We talked about this extensively on our Patreon. It is something that is really important for all international overlanders to understand. ~ Eric
Not really. We often visit recommended places. But we have camped in some extremely off the beaten path spots to see things we wanted to see. Generally however, whenever we camp we do our due diligence in regards to safety and security by speaking to locals first. ~ Eric
60000 Colombian Pesos is the equivalent of $13.50 USD. But understand that the normal price for camping in that area was 20,000 - 30,000 Colombian Pesos. Often times when a foreign traveler is camping they will hike the prices. This is not good for the locals. Because it puts local campers on the spot to pay more. We are very cautious about not overpaying or contributing to the detriment of the local people. There are whole topics of discussion about this type of price gouging online. It isn't that we couldn't pay the $13.50. It is that we shouldn't. ~ Eric
Excellent! Love those hot springs!
They were incredible Art! The way the waterfall came down and fed everything was extra beautiful. We didn't want to leave. ~ Eric
