Dont get discouraged folks. Work for cheap if you have no experimce. Its a free market. Forget about big tech. Try small companies. As my first job i was installing laser sensors on pigs and read a serial port device as pigs crossed the gate at a pig farm. It was no faang but i got to program and gain experience. My job description was chasing pigs and programming.

Entry level doesn’t exist in tech. It’s a dodgy industry

Yeah but honestly most of the people applying are total noobs and should not be in tech. Many will realize that coding is a mere hobby for them and quit the industry. Everyone can code these days and most don't even know things like Assembler or sysinternals, thus they never become talented or actually knowledgeable.

This was a problem too around 2001 when i was looking for an entry level job as a programmer. Everybody was requiring some experience. But i still tried and got interviews. I did not get hired but at interviews i learned what they were looking for. So i learned and learned and wrote a desktop poker application with mfc. I presented this app at an interview and finally i got a job. It paid only slightly above minimem wage but i still took it. This little company launched my career. I almost got fired after about a month because i could not figure something out. But i managed to take the code off of a cd which came with a book and somehow made it work. After that i went up and up paywise and soon was making as much as anybody It was year 2001. I had no internet to learn from. Luckily programming books came with cd and code samples. But back then you could go in person for an interview. Today all this automated job sites make it hard.
