Ahhhhhh Memories ….. I was a Brassie / Deckie Learner back in the early 1970’s working on the Marretta … one of J.Marr and sons sidewinders sailing from Fleetwood to our traditional fishing grounds off south east Iceland … when Iceland got their 200 mile exclusion zone approved by the courts in The Hague our fishing fleets were totally devastated … Fleetwood is much of a ghost town these days, there’s nothing much there now … the ice house is still there but now producing ice cubes for the supermarkets …
I was on the Judean another Toshy Robinson boat around about this time when we had engine failure and drifted for the best part of a day while our engineers tried to repair them. Eventually the company sent the Galilean was sent to tow us back to Grimsby.
Thanks for sharing Steven. Did you know my dad colin scothern on the Tiger Ross? I worked at Len Kemps for a while after school. Loved this filming-very nostalgic. Always Grimsby. Respect mate
