I don't think its a bad crowd, you don't need to put your hands in the air all the time, this kind of music its to feel deep inside your soul and not to jump all the time.

I saw DJ Shadow at a music festival in Eugene, OR last weekend. He played all TRAP! Before his set he goes.. "new beats, new beats, new beats, new beats... this set is all about new beats." Just goes to show how versatile he is.
I’ve been a diehard fan of Shadow since Endtroducing dropped and have been following him since. I respect him because he’s not afraid to draw outside the lines, especially with his live DJ sets. As someone else mentioned, we get to witness him essentially produce an album’s worth of material and it’s LIVE!! He’s a rare breed and has been my favourite DJ because of this.
in every boiler room i can see the crowd partying and enjoying the set. In this one everyone is standing and trying to watch and understand what Shadow is doing..! this says everything for me, even if you are not a fun of this music Shadow is taking you inside his way and his message. This is all about. This is art. Amazing!!!
Shadow's talent has always been how he can pull obscure sounds from an encyclopedic knowledge of albums that span many decades and many genres and fuse those sounds in ways none of us could imagine... it has never been about what he can get a crowd to do or not do; dancy, sway, nod whatever. Those who know Shadow already know this and I imagine if they were in the crowd, they got what they came for. I know I did when I saw him.
Absolutely incredible, going back to the beginning. This is how hip hop DJs used to battle. DJ D Styles, Mix master Mike even DJ Polo and Mr Mix all come to mind. This is a real talent, respect Josh, Shadow!
This is true DJ Shadow. People forget that his roots were in spooky hooks and dark soul grooves. When you ask DJ Shadow to play, don't expect Skrillix (whom I also love). A very few artists are worthy of being called Beat Masters and DJ Shadow is one of the greatest ever.
Yep Shadow brings it...
What are those strange black disc like objects that spin round and make cool music likesounds? Ahhhhhh now I remember, records!!! Take note youngins
I'm an 18 year old DJ right now, just spinning on DJ controllers and what not, but I have always been awed by turntablism. So over this summer, as somewhat of a new years resolution, that is what I am going to learn. I'm buying two Technics, a mixer, and tons of vinyl from the shop down the road.
No computed effects
No sync button
No CDJ's .
Wish me luck! :D
Respect young brother! Don't be shy to pull from all genre's and era's when putting down your mixes
I don't conceded Shadow a turntablelist. I believe him to be a DJ/producer. He is a Master at his craft. He also has perfect taste.
Patty Beatz
same here man. worked with traktor for about 2 years now and i'm just bored. Switched to vinyl about a month ago and loving it since. You train your ears instead of destroying your eyes.
we're literally on the internet right now. i could pull up the entire history of records on another tab right now
