Nina this is so much fun! Thank you again for taking the time to teach us this type of embroidery. I find it very relaxing to stitch the Kloster blocks. :) can't wait until the next lesson!
Thx Nina. I've worked a little ahead of you. Having a great time stitching this. I am working on the buttonhole stitches around the outside edge. This is taking more time then the kloster block stitches. Looking forward to the next video.
Again your video showed up with perfect timing :) And i had gambled last time to park my thread at the point that i thought you might pick up the next part, and luckily i was right so i could continue onwards rightaway. Thanks for doing this series, it is truely helpful and i'm learning so much about how to read a hardanger pattern and what order to work in. xx
Thanks for another great video. your are a great teacher. I love this pattern so much so that I am doing two of these using different thread colour. Question: How do you decide what section to work?
Please send me pictures of your pieces, I would love to see them. As for deciding what to stitch, it really depends on the pattern, then it's a toss up. Most of the time I try to get the kloster blocks out of the way first. Then work on any other satin stitches. Then again I sometimes really want to do another stitch before finishing all the kloster blocks, so will do that. I think the best rule of thumb is to get a base down of kloster blocks so that counting out anything else is much easier. Then just have fun!
OK I will try to send pictures. Not sure how to do that. I only have access to white and ecru for now and those are the colors I used but love the thread you are using.
Hi! Thank you for your kind words! Sorry to take so long in getting back to you, my husband and I took a mini vacation. I posted the answer in your comment from a couple of days ago. Please let me know if you need any other help. Thanks so much again for your lovely comments!
Hooola me encanta tu trabajo pero sería posible poner subtítulos vivo en Mexico y no se inglés sería una agradable sorpresa para todos los que nos gusta poder leerlo aunque sea así mil gracias
Hi Nina- so enjoying this HAL. My question is: when you stitch the 2 long (26) rows of kloster blocks, one each direction, is there a reason you don't just thread under the outer row to get over to the new row (2nd row) rather than parking one needle and starting again with another needle/thread? I can't see any reason not to just continue, unless you were out of thread anyway. Perhaps I'm not thinking of something?
Hi Carol - Yes you can, especially if you have lots of thread left. My mind tends to think in sections so that is usually how I stitch. How is your stitching going?
Great- loving it. Soooo relaxing in my awful hectic life. At this point (I'm sure I'll get over it, LOL) I want to just sit and do it all day long! 2 things I have to tell you... 1. I ran into a "snag"- the color I am using is not made in #8!!! Oh, dear. So- now to figure out what on earth to use for the wraps. (I am using DMC # 839) That never occurred to me! 2. This may (I'm nearly sure) make you laugh out loud- I purchased some of the needle threaders like you have- and when I went looking I found the "best" buy to be 50 for $3+ (can't remember the cents) and free shipping. So I should be set for needle threaders for awhile even if they do quit making them. Hahaha!
Oh, yes, and I forgot to tell you- I ordered 2 new Hardanger books (I already have a number of them- some of which are still "hiding" from our move a yr. and half ago. I have a number of the Award Winning books that are now out of print (except for copies in black/white). Can NOT find them. :( But I did find some others and have purchased a couple last year. So, I should have a design or 2 I like. ;)
You can never have too many tools, especially needle threaders. Put them all over your house and you'll never be far from one! For the needleweaving you can use the DMC floss in #839 - use one or two strands. I've done this and it works great. Glad to see you're enjoying the stitching!
Oh, you have me doing a happy dance!!! Thank you, did not think of that, I'll be going into a store for that next week! PS. My 2 new Hardanger books have been shipped. A good day all round. LOL
Looking forward to this group of kloster blocks today. Really feeling confident about my project. Thank you.

Great going at working ahead! The buttonhole stitches do take longer, and more thread!

Thanks Kathleen!
