Let’s be honest here…she could make a dumpster look cozy, but this gorgeous house is going to be all of our DREAM House! I eagerly wait for each new step!
Use the fabric you love for the top of the cushion and the bottom which goes against the seat part can be coordinating but a neutral. Only use it where you’ll see it. It’s fabulous!
My mom and I agree, you defiantly accomplished creating a sweet, English styled, doll house, cottage retreat! We absolutely loved the moulding design and everything you chose to decorate with. That chandelier though, was a favourite! Can't wait to see part 2!! So Fun!! You're always inspiring us!! Have a beautiful day filled with lots of sunshine too!!💚💚💚🌞💚💚💚
I had a feeling you would be uploading, Shelby! I was just hours ago, painting my finished basement in a medium-toned French Green (Green Balsam by Behr Dynasty Marquee) and all along the process of selecting that particular Green 💚 (and it absolutely HAD TO BE Green), I had both you and my beloved late Mother on my mind. Both you and my dearly-departed Mother have notable affinity toward the color Green. I am choosing to honor her memory in that particular space but I wanted also to infuse your incredible influence on my tastes in there as well. You always pick the most elegant and sophisticated shades of Green. I truly thank you for enabling me to fall in Love with a color that used to evoke such sadness and mournful grief within me. Now, Green and a passion for decorating elevate my Spirit. I ADORE the decisions and progress that you've made in your dollhouse-structured guest room! Thank you for your videos. Your energy has helped to pull me up and out of such darkness. 🖤💚
Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing this with me... that means SO much and the way you were able to take something that evoked such sadness and turn it into something happy is so incredibly inspiring to me. Thank you for your kind words! Now I am going to have to look up Green Balsam... it sounds beautiful!
I would be the bed between the two small windows. Don’t like it on that wall and that way you don’t see all those outlets. Maybe paint them all the same green
You could always use the fabric on the top and sides of the cushions and use a plain fabric on the bottom to stretch how much pattern fabric you would need per cushion.
Shelby, your Home is such a Dream!! Every Room you touch, just Elevates it even more!!! 💚💚💚💚 That Room is definitely a Dollhouse!! SO COZY!!! LOVE the Wallpaper and the Green Wall!! You have such a Great Eye!! ☺️🤗. Look forward to Part 2 🙂
Oh my , what an incredible space with the angled walls and the recessed window seats. It's my favorite room too! It's like a little hidden , secret hideaway. A space every little girl dreamt of. The little arched window tops, the green , the wallpaper... wow. wow. wow! You do know your guests will never leave! The dark wood of the bed is such a great contrast. Then you showed the other side of the room.. its much bigger than I thought! If you ever have a little girl, I am sure she will make this her own!
Whenever I have moved, I have used 3 fabrics to make a cushion. A solid on the sides and a print on the top and another print on the bottom so that I can flip them over and change the mood of the room
Never comment on videos but I love your aesthetic! Please continue to post what you are doing to your beautiful home. You have a very defined style which is not done by many creators. But I love it I love and appreciate you.
It’s fantastic! I would paint out all those outlets in the green areas. That’s a lot of outlets and they stand out too much. Paint out the vent in the ceiling too.
Great job adding character! Love the green, including on the ceiling! Great wallpaper. Very cozy room. Looking forward to how you will style those cabinets.
After reading some of the comments, before seeing the room, I thought I was going to agree about the placement of the bed but I think it’s in the perfect location. I also agree about sconces in the nooks instead of chandeliers because you already have one in the room. As for the pillows…if you don’t have enough material maybe a stripe (like in the bedding) or a plaid on one side and the floral on the other. I know you will figure it out because everything so far is just beautiful.. thanks for sharing with us.
Love every bit of this room. I agree with a few others who have suggested you use the fabric you love for the top of the window seats and another fabric for the underside! ❤
So amazingly beautiful is an understatement to describe how the wallpaper and trimming look juxtaposed to the green paint. You have an impeccable taste in decorating your house. May I suggest that you could add a brown or purple gingham pattern for the window seats. As far as, a newer paint color for the kitchen leave it alone for now. The current color match well with the cafe curtains for now. However, you might consider a gray paint with a hint of green-blue undertone when you get to that point of gathering your paint swatches. You will make the best decisions. 😊
Try hyacinth arrangement for a touch of purple or a throw at the end of the bed. Your style is beautiful and timeless. looking forward to seeing your future transformations to come
I loveeee the wallpaper and the fabrics, esp the second one. Absolutely dreamy. Also love how green is always your colour of choice, it’s become a neutral at this point 😆 and your signature! I’m here for it ❤
Love your work. Perhaps in the window seat cushions in a British classic strip with green and cream. Paint the outlet covers green too so they disappear. You are very creative.
It superbeautifull!! The window seats are a killer for cosy-hideaway-holiday-playfullness-just-being-in-the-present drinking tea, dreaming and reading a book or painting or writing ! I love it! Green windows would not have been my choice-but they bringt a positive and happy vibe in soooo much!! 🥰
Absolutely stunning!! I love the wallpaper! I would definitely pull that beautiful purple out and use it as the color for the seating cushions and then add in the florals as pillows and such, just a suggestion 😊. I know once it comes together though it will all be so beautiful. I wish you uploaded daily lol, love your content ❤. Happy spring and tfs! ❤🌼🌼
It looks wonderful already. I love the green. (Would paint vent covers and such in the ceiling too.) It's a higgledy piggledy room, and looks like an old English cottage - especially with the windows painted out in green.
If you don’t have enough fabric to do both sides of the pillows you want to make, maybe you can find some mattress ticking type fabric or another print in the same colors as the print you love to do the other sides.
Your color choices have been so different in this house vs your old apartment. It’s been so interesting to watch the evolution in your new space…❤ The space really demands the style. So lovely you guys. You’re my favorite design channel. I just bought my first home and I can’t wait to Pretty in the pines it over the next few years …☺️🙏
You have such a great eye for color! I love it so far. You know, I also "fall in love" with fabrics. In the past, when I could not stop thinking and planning where to use a certain print in a room, I made a duvet cover for the bed's comforter. That has allowed me to enjoy the pattern and protect the bed, even with no guests. It is also possible to use the print for the top only and the bottom of the duvet in solid. I have also used ruffles around it and sometimes even lace. I am sure the big flower prints you bought all they had will render 2 cushions, even if you have to use some solid for the bottom part. Your guests will be delighted to stay in such a cozy room!
You made a real life beautiful doll house! ❤ I’m so in awe how you put all of these pretty things together so well❤ I love it all, but especially replacing that icky ceiling fan with that gorgeous chandelier❤ ❤❤
This is beautiful The room itself has a lot of character and the style you chose really works with it. Reminds me of one of those historical english hotels.
Very pretty. I have had some luck going to hobby lobby and finding spray paint colors close enough to my paint choices so I could paint my air ducts. In some cases I have used the paint itself to paint the duct covers and added a little clear coat to protect it from scratching.
First, I just love your beautiful home and the direction you are going with the beautiful decor! The guest room color and wallpaper are warm and inviting and you are doing a fabulous job!! I cannot wait for the next video! Hugs! :)
I LOVE your videos. You inspire me to try to do things myself rather than paying an arm & leg for someone else. Can't wait to keep following along your decor journey :)
I'd been watching for your next video and was so happy to see your post yesterday!! You weaved your magic again in this room....it looks so English country cottage ! I LOVE IT !! I wasn't sure about the wallpaper at first since I have had some horrible issues in the past with wallpaper that just never looked like I thought I'd wanted but THIS PAPER and wall color looks great. You really know how to coordinate everything and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. This is exactly the kind of bedroom I'd love to sleep in....warm, calming and fresh. Great job !!
I can never click fast enough when you post a new video! What a charming bedroom. Both of the fabrics are beautiful but I really love the 2nd one. I would need to see them by the wallpaper to vote but like you stated, you may not have enough of the one anyways. You have a great design eye but maybe a stripe or gingham check could be charming againast the floral wallpaper for the window seats. I didn't realize how large the room was intially until you panned to the other side towards the end of the video. I can't wait to see the end result. Looks great so far!
LOVE your style! Maybe only use the pretty fabric for on top and a calico for underneath? That is what I used for my couch cushions! It works out cheaper too.
Fun fact since you're eating a banana. Did you know that monkeys peel their bananas on the opposite end of the way humans do? It makes sense because then that part that's attached to the bunch is like a little handle.
Such a sweet room! A good brush makes alllll the difference! I love painting, but I will only paint with a good brush as it does most of the work for you! I never have to tape anything off which saves so much time. On the kitchen color…these things are hard to offer suggestions on when you can’t see the whole kitchen at once and cameras don’t always represent the colors in their true form. I feel like I remember seeing a pattered tile in the kitchen somewhere, maybe on the island? I honestly think I would let the color and pattern from the fabric be the focal and keep the walls and cabinets just a neutral backdrop for all of your beautiful collections. Something in the cream/wheat/oatmeal colorway? Haha! Those are all foods so they must belong in a kitchen, right? 😂 These are just suggestions sent from afar, but I definitely agree there is a better color out there than the current one. 😉 I LOVE making a house a home and I love watching people make their house their home. ☺️
Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, there is a patterned tile on the island - it is white and a very dark green (almost black). There is definitely a better color and I think I may be close. It is in that exact colorway you mentioned 😂
Not sure of you painting the kitchen wall where you installed the curtains ( they look fabulous). Whatever colour you decide needs to be light otherwise the area will reside the cubious amounts of light you presently have flooding in. Look at your kitchen....so much room! Continue to enjoy your new home. Ps your dogs loving the extra square footage which came with the house...he's always in shot of you filming❤ Your channel
Do make sure you give us directions when you make the cushions for the reading nook. Also, that's a cool tool that you used to cut your trim-I never knew that they made something like that! Last, but not least, the guest room looks beautiful!
If you really like the green fabric, you can look at the salvage side, and it will tell you the information to look it up on the internet and order more of it.
Your magic touch is being showcased once again. I love the wallpaper and paint color. I really hope the room does not get too hot in the summer without some kind of fan. Even if you have AC up there a fan would help circulate the air and cut your energy bill a bit. The seat cushions are going to be such a nice touch. will you put blinds or some kind of curtain up? I forgot about the other side of the room. I was thinking you could remove one cabinet and build a space for a desk area in front of the windows. I'm sure you already have something up your sleeve for the other side of the room. I love Pearl. A friend of mine had the same breed and her name was Molly. Gentle giant.
Aww I love hearing about other Newfoundlands! Sweet Molly! I am not sure what I am going to do with the other side of the room yet! I will definitely be putting a floor fan in this room because it does get hot/cold depending on the weather.
You will be painting the outlet covers, air return and a/c vents, I assume? My dad was a third generation residential painter, and he felt a space wasn’t finished until that was done.
Beautifully done! I would suggest that you paper the switch plates between the windows so they disappear. QUESTION: Have you considered moving the bed to the other side of the bathroom door? In my humble opinion, it looks a little unbalanced or heavy now, especially with the floor lamp. If the bed works on the other wall, you could angle a couple chairs or a sofa between the windows and with your proposed sconces and all the pillows would invite you to get cozy with a book. I am in love with your timeless home and style ❤

Brilliant!
I came to say this too! A beautiful coordinated green stripe like the bed linen would make them reversible and double the fun 😁
Good idea!
Yes, I love that idea! Thank you!
I would paint the switch plates and outlet covers the green color. Looks beautiful.
Yes, I agree! That will be in Part 2 for sure!

Beautiful room. Excellent job. I would paint your electrical outlets the same color of the wall

Love,Love❤this design! Brilliant job ! I really like the first choice fabric! So thrilled for you & nice that you can use nail guns now!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
A calm muted blue could look good in the kitchen! It might match the curtains 🤍
It’s Yummy!!!
What a Welcoming spot.
GBY-Texas❤
Looks like a proper English hideaway! You my dear, are very talented!

That is an awesome idea! I hope she sees it!
ooh I LOVE that idea!
You have such incredible style . Gorgeous makeover 💚
So glad UA-cam recommended you to me! Your style is so cute!!

Just so beautiful. You are so creative. Thank you for sharing. I learn something new at each of your viewings.
Great job!!!! Love the green. Very cozy and sweet.
I love it too can't wait to see it when you are finished
It's very Jane Austen for sure. The standing lampshade is very contrasting.

I’m in love with that greeeeeeen!! Beautiful wallpaper. Very country looking. Gorgeous.
So lovely! Reminds me of a quaint english bed and breakfast. Love how well you work together!

Room looks great! I would have but the bed on the wall between the windows
I wish! The posters are too tall for that wall and the bed would have to be about 4 feet away from the wall 😢
Wow!!!! Shelby to be able to see a room through your eyes. Wow sooo beautiful ❤ thanks for sharing ❤
There's no way I'd do chores in a Sézane dress, terrified of damaging it. But it looks stunning on you 😍
I absolutely love the wallpaper ❤that room is gorgeous thanks for sharing ❤
It is looking so beautiful! It’s reminding me of something you would see in a Laura Ashley design book! I can’t wait to see the finished result!
Pretty awesome your whole house is coming together ❤❤
Absolutely stunning!! I love the wallpaper! I know once it comes together though it will all be so beautiful. I wish you uploaded daily lol, love your content ❤. Happy spring and tfs! ❤🌼🌼
Gorgeous! Wallpaper right up to the ceiling!
Paint the 5th wall (CEILING) with the green!
Ceilings do not have to be white!!
It looks wonderful already. I love the green. (Would paint vent covers and such in the ceiling too.)

Absolutely love your style. It lines up with what's in my mind. Come help me with my turn of the century home!!
Very pretty. I have had some luck going to hobby lobby and finding spray paint colors close enough to my paint choices so I could paint my air ducts. In some cases I have used the paint itself to paint the duct covers and added a little clear coat to protect it from scratching.
I love the way you decorate. Your house and wallpaper is so pretty!!
This room turned out beautiful.
glad to see you back.
I love that wallpaper and the green paint. OMG - I love everything about the room! It’s so pretty.

Watching from England. Looks amazing !

Thank you soo much!! 🥰🥰
I found it on Facebook Marketplace!@@beckykueng3017

Ahh thank you for your feedback and ideas!
LOVE your style! Maybe only use the pretty fabric for on top and a calico for underneath? That is what I used for my couch cushions! It works out cheaper too.
Ahh great idea!
Fun fact since you're eating a banana. Did you know that monkeys peel their bananas on the opposite end of the way humans do? It makes sense because then that part that's attached to the bunch is like a little handle.
HAPPY TUESDAY! WOW ...what vision. Waiting for all the things. Great Team Work. STTB*SHARED TO THE BURGH*Pittsburgh PA
How beautiful!
Wonder if a soft lilac lavender for pillows in the reading nook maybe a velvet in deep purple. You are so creative have fun!
For the window seat pillows a PURPLE based fabric: maybe a buffalo check.
It’s a masterpiece. 😮
Absolutely stunning 🤩 ❤
I think I light moss colour for the kitchen. The colour that’s there is nice but maybe a warmer light green ❤
I love english cottage 💚💐💜 The purple would be a good way to bring in English lavender aromatherapy.
Beautiful
These are just suggestions sent from afar, but I definitely agree there is a better color out there than the current one. 😉
I LOVE making a house a home and I love watching people make their house their home. ☺️
Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, there is a patterned tile on the island - it is white and a very dark green (almost black). There is definitely a better color and I think I may be close. It is in that exact colorway you mentioned 😂

True! Thank you!
C'est sublime !!
Yes!
That is a good idea regarding the bed! I was planning to actually put a sleeper sofa on that side of the room but it could be a good spot for the bed.
For the first fabric for the cushions. An option could be putting a solid fabric on the back.
Wonderful.
It’s beautiful
I suggest having a hint of purple by using wildflower window cling
Love following along. Just caught your June 2020 NYC video. Your hair looks so great all one length!
