Hey guy's we enjoyed this type of trip video meaning step by step your ups and downs. We are just seeing your video in march 2021 and have major trip planned from Pa to Glacier MT. and possibly on to OR. Keep those videos coming. John & Judy
Martin and Joanie my wife and I have begun the process of researching the idea of becoming full timers. We just found your channel and absolutely love it. I think we have watched almost every video. You guys are an inspiration. Very informative. Your presentation appeals to both of us as you seem to be salt of the earth type of people. Just want to encourage you to keep up the good work. If ever back in Ohio, would love to meet you. Would love to pick your brains. Hope that’s not too creepy. Anyway, enjoy your time in Maine and we look forward to the next video Joe and marjie
I'm glad you're getting to just hang out for a while. Will this be the longest you're sitting since you went full-time? I know already that we're going to need some times of being stationary. We went to Europe for three weeks once and I finally had to tell the old man that we needed a day to do absolutely nothing! The rain this year has been disgusting. We've finally had mid 80's to low 90's for the last two weeks but it rains almost every day. We're in Illinois, an hour away from Chicago, and it feels more like Florida with these daily rains. Smyt and I do everything together, too. We've been married for 20 years but people still think we're newlyweds. Having a close partner/friend in your spouse is a real gift. Loving the wrap up of the entire 2,400 miles to Maine. Thanks for the updates! We love everything about your videos and I share them with friends.
Yes this will be the longest we've ever stayed in one place. Usually after 2 or 3 weeks at the most we're ready to move on. But in this case this will work great for us. Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to comment Dee. It means a lot.
Yea! My neck of the woods! We are from Philadelphia and been to Hersey many times! Like the RV show every year! Had the kids to the amusement park many times! Beautiful area❤️
Hi Martin and Joanie! My wife and I recently found your channel and have really enjoyed your videos. We are about 1 to 1-1/2 years out from going fulltime when we retire. You both seem relaxed, mild manner, and very pleasant. As like you, my wife and I work together great as a team. It would be awesome to run into you two when we finally get on the road. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing more of your videos!
I think from this example, my reasoning to a backup in strange places for local info., should include a membership in one of the, I call, animal clubs like Eagles, Moose or VFW and Legion to get local vibes as to a solution on a unforeseen problem in a unfamiliar location.
I don't remember. But even if they did, remember that's going to be just regular ol' camp ground (CG) wifi. CG wifi is usually always horrible as far as bandwidth is concerned and it's NOT secure. It's open for the public or in this case open for all RVers in the area. We never use it.
Late May early June. Reason being, many of the parks up in the northeast don't open until late spring or early summer. We're going to this area again this year.and currently we are in OK (May 24th) and won't arrive in Maine until 1st week in June. It can still be cool-especially in the evenings-then but we like that.
@@RVstreet Watch out for the big yellow doors this time... We are planning on heading to South Dakota in July then West to Spokane to visit our daughter. Can't wait.
Love you guys, watched both parts. I am planning a trip down route 66 starting in Illinois down to California by the time I’m 66. I got about 2 1/2 years to plan this trip what advice would you give me as a fairly new newbie even though I’m on my third motorhome I haven’t done extensive cross country travel like that. I do mostly state parks in Texas with my camping buddies. So I did do a trip through Georgia up to Tennessee and back to Texas last year. If you things I will never do again and things I should’ve done and I didn’t but yeah hindsight. Thanks for entertainment lessons learned and experiences to come.
The main advice I would give you or anybody that's traveling is be sure to have good tires and a TPMS, inflate your tires to the proper PSI according to your weight and have some kind of road service plan in place JIC. Traveling means you're not going to have the luxury of all your support systems your used to at home or in your garage. So take care of stuff now in the MH before you get on the road. That's what we do EVERY winter here in RGV. I go completely thru the coach to prepare for next years travels. Lastly, with 2.5yrs. to plan you'll probably have every "i" dotted and every "T" crossed. Be prepared to be flexible during this trip. Things usually don't go according to plan somewhere along the way. 😝
@@edensfamilyadventures2714 I just wanted to say, I've noticed you watching a lot of our videos lately and commenting along the way. I really appreciate you being aboard and taking the time to read comments and comment yourself. I LOVE that interaction with others. I wish more of our fans did that 💕
Looking forward to travel to Maine. Definitely no during black fly season. March and April will still be snowing in Maine? How bad is the pollen in Maine.
It shouldn't be snowing then but it still will be cold. As far as pollen, I mean March & April are Spring time, but we've always waited to late May or early June to arrive so we never experienced pollen problems.
How do you like the Thousand Trails campground system compared to Coast-to-Coast campground system? Seems like these types of memberships are the way go in motorhome.
We like the TT membership a lot. Easy to book reservations and we can book 120 days out. We bought our Elite membership back in 2016. We also have RPI within our membership and that's helpful for areas in the interior of the country where there are no TT parks. CTC is cheaper but has a lot of caveats and we found booking reservations a little tricky so we decided not to use them. It just didn't fit the way we travel. But we know folks that do use it. We just find it to much of a hassle.
Hi. Thanks for sharing details of your trip. Glad everything went OK for you guys ( besides your car in PA, of course ). I was just curious. Knowing you I am sure that you did all PM before you left TX. And yet 2400 miles later you've mentioned oil change and chassis grease. Was that necessary? I thought the intervals art north of 10,000 miles. Just curious.
I don't know exactly what I said in that video. Been awhile since I watched that one. But ya, I normally grease my chassis and change my oil once a year regardless of how many miles I have put on it. And yes I do all my regular maintenance in the winter while in RGV which by then is usually somewhere between 5K - 7K miles on the clock from the last time I did those things. I'm not sure why I did it again up in Maine. Don't remember. But as I have said many times, I cut every recommended scheduled PM item in 1/2. I consider our coach severe duty.
Enjoyed both Part I and II. I think (hope) I know your friends from Hershey! Where are you headed when you leave Maine in September? And love the photography!
Yup, you do indeed know the friends we met. 👍 it was great meeting y’all. Not sure what our path is going to be on the way back but will end up back in RGV for the winter.

Love this series! The TT that did not have cell coverage (especially NY), did they have WiFi in lounges?
