Shifting is pretty good! If the races get closer, you can no lift shift 3rd and 4th. I have the same exact car same color. Enjoy watching the ZR1 eat👍👍

The c7 Zr1 is cool and all but the C6 ZR1 looks better to me. I absolutely hate the high spoilers on the new vettes and camaros.
But also ive wanted a c6 for yeeears, where as the c7s only look good to me in certain colors....
Interior quality doesnt matter to me either, everything is better than 80s-90s GM plastic. To me its all about the brutal power of the car and the feeling you get driving one like its supposed to be.
The older cars c5, c6 are more "raw" than some newer.
Same as 98-02 camaros vs 5th/6th gens. Just feels a little more like a drivers car.
Either way they are all fun
The c6 zr1 weighs a couple hundred pounds less than the c7 zr1.
It also depends on what you mean by better? The c7 zr1 was only made for one year, and yes it is a total badass and spreads on the track. It looks amazing. I love the rear wing and how the nose dives more.
But...the c6 zr1 was kept a secret and when it was finally released it became one of the fastest productions cars in the world at that time. It set lap records, and beat porsche, lamborghini, audi, mercedes, Ferrari, mclaren, dodge, Ford, aston martin, and jaguar. It beat all of these manufacturers at nurburgring as well. Nothing could carve corners like the zr1. In 2012 not a euro supercar could beat it. It was cheap, affordable and eventually found to be reliable. Even after upgraded power.
The car is even faster with less power than the c7 z06. It can beat hellcats as wellnd despite being older. The c6 zr1 is a bench mark car. Its a bench mark for a reason, because everyone knows its fast.
I could careless about the interior. But the legend this car has become is exactly why its better than the c7 zr1.
@Steven Salcido I like the wheels and simple heads/cam ls6 package power of the c5 Z06 (easy to mimic with ls1s and super drivable)
I just dont like that they changed the bodyshape for the z06. I prefer the base model shape. I really want a base c5 with a t56 so I can do ported 243s and just a base z06 cam or slightly bigger, with z06 wheels, so I can cruise around with a "budget" z06 with targa top.
Ps---- i own a couple sets of c5z06 wheels for autox. The original wheels are crazy lightweight and just look good on most foodies and older vettes. Plus they can fit 315s on the 17s or 18s.
@@drjosephfarah More power doesn't mean better. It only handles better due to the crippling downforce and heavy tires, both of which slow the car down.
The reason why many fans prefer the C6 ZR1 is due to the the C6 generation being better driver's cars. They are lighter and less crippling downforce. Pound for pound, they are faster. I have a C7 myself, but I have to admit the 7th generation is heavy and bloated. It has too many ducts and spoilers that drag the car down. C6 generation is more pure.
Corvette is quicker and considering its a manual, damn lol.

@@BarryAllen-pd1jv yes I know that. But even a rolling race, I'd put my money on the lambo. A 400hp modern AWD hot hatch with dual clutch transmission would probably beat the c6 zr1 corvette in a 1/4 race.

C6 Z06 is from a really good era of cars. Perfect combo of light weight and engine technology. The 997 GT3 and Ferrari 458 are legends as well.

Since i was a kid ive always wanted a c6zr1 i bought my ls3 c6 when i was 20 if i dont have a c6 zr1 before i die ima be so dissapointed in myself.
The C6 ZR1 never ceases to amaze me. To date, best corvette ever built period…and I watched the world premiere of the C8 Z06 today, also incredible but the C6 ZR1 has that certain something that’s hard to define. Great vids, keep them coming!!!
Lies, THE C7 ZR1 is the greatest CORVETTE built. Its in another league compared to the C6 version. Much better interior. Better luxury car. Far faster speeds especially in automatic form.

Please race a Redeye or Demon. I always wondered how my ZR1 would stack up against one because they trap pretty high.
You’ll crush them on track at higher speeds. From a dead stop they launch hard and autos are so consistent. Bolt on mods put your ZR-1 way past 707 hp with 1/2 ton less weight.
Why don't you go find a Redeye or Demon and challenge them to a race? They're all over the place, should be easy enough to find one.

C7 zo6 gearing is trash over 100mph. On a roll a roll the C6 ZR1 will walk the Z06 especially 130plus
ABtheAgent are you talking about the 8 speed auto?? I have a 17z with the automatic. It shifts dam fast. Just wondering if you had one and have issues with it shifting, thanks.
The gearing for C7 8 spd autos are bad for roll racing. Once it hits 5th gear its like there's a wall because the gear is way too long. I have a supercharged C7 Z51 A8 myself

kiddt1999 had one the transmission shifts fast and great. Yetthe gearing is horrible 5-8. It’s like it’s all overdrive gears. Even the manual zo6 6-7 are overdrive and 5th is long asf.

Makes perfect sense. The zr1 is about 100lbs lighter, it has that low end torque, and has 30 more hp

Race a hellcat, ctsv, Gt 500, or any other car of decent specs would be great content brother. I’ve always wanted one but instead bought a hellcat simply for the room and availability otherwise that would have been it. Great video man keep them coming.

I own a C6 Z06, yellow, black ZR1 wheels, headers and some other good stuff. It's FAST, really fast. BUT.....I've always thought "if the Z06 is this fast, the ZR1 must be STUPID fast?!". Would love to drive one some day. They're expensive here in Sweden ($100,000)

I saw a ZR1 exactly like this one for 90k. 2011 about 8k miles. I have a ‘19 Z06,but damn that ZR1 is my crush!
My dad owns a c6 Grand Sport and my brother a C7 Stingray convertible. My wife has reserved a Bronco and I believe when it's my turn I'm either going C6 ZR1, Z06, C7 Grand Sport or possibly a C8 Stingray.
Roll race of course...because from a stop it would be the exact opposite. Huracan is a 10.6 second 1/4 mile car at 133mph . ZR-1 is a 11.1 second car at 130mph.
ZR-1 is supercharged with 6.3 liters of displacement, Huracan is naturally aspirated 5.2 liter. A roll race is deceiving, vette with supercharger is going to have advantage in a roll race. The huracan being naturally aspirated and revving to 9,000 rpm means it’s power band isn’t till 6,000 rpm. So in a roll race if the driver of the Huracan isn’t at around 5500 rpm when they take off his acceleration is going to suck. Nature of a high rpm low torque motor. So without seeing the Huracan’s rpms when they launched we don’t really know if he was actually driving the car to its potential. But at the end of the day a ZR1 is fast, no doubt, but still a vette. Nobody in their right mind if given the choice of a free Vette or a free Huracan would pass up the Huracan. But if you can only afford the vette, so be it, solid purchase. And I think we should have a rolling race in snow and see how they do, haha...Huracan is actually a car you can drive all year round if you want. Which matters to people like me that live in snow country and drive their sports cars year round. Im not a fan of garage queens.
Not sure why, but I’ve always preferred the C5 Zo6 over the C6. I also think the C7 looks better than the C6. Something about the front headlight looks strange to me in the C6. Much improved on the C7.

ZR-1 So sweet!! Driver strong too! Have run the full Tri-Oval & the NASA/SCCA Pocono North Course in my slightly modified C5 Z06. Had to explain to many(except the Viper ACR), why my lowly LS6 Corvette stays crushing way more expensive exotics. I’m always shopping for a ZR-1. Congrats on the car and channel Bro!

Wow that's shocking! I thought the Lambo would fly forward as soon as it was go time and jump ahead, I thought it had a much better weight advantage or something but wow that ZR1 pulls and keeps going! I really didn't know a ZR1 could pull on the Huracan like that, although it seemed like the vette jumped real hard both races, woulda been even more interesting if you let each other get the jump for comparisons sake.
Edit 2: Actually, I also wonder about the gearing and if the Lambo was in it's power band from that mph...there's a lot to consider before rushing to judgement here.

Pretty sure the ZR1 only won because it kept jumping the gun on the hit. Otherwise the race would've been much closer. Numbers prove it.

Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races. The C6R had to be penalized and absurdly power-restricted so that other brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Aston could 'compete' as well. ----- Having a 200 points torque deficit from HP on a racetrack lays bare the obvious lack of exotic car performance.
C6 was the greatest Corvette of all times. Still better then the c8

Its not an R8 with another body kit, its a totally different car, and the difference is in the top end tuning, the Huracan develops much faster than the R8 at high speeds although its the same engine.
I’m a muscle guy.... but dude in the vette kept jumping every race and started slightly ahead on all three.... knowing you were winning the first 2 i would’ve let the lambo be a fender ahead at the start or get the slight jump
