My GameStop across the street from where I live is LOADED with vbuck cards and the funnier part is they are all the ORIGINAL price we recently had the 8$ for 1000, 19.99 for 2800 etc, so lucky me
My guess would be they're raising the price of vbucks and used this promotion to clear out retailer stock. They would have had to stop supplying digital allocations to stores and physical cards some time ago so the stock was already lower before the promotion. Otherwise...I dunno.
Same problem here in the UK. I had to get a physical vbucks card to get the promotion, but it took me going to four stores to find a shop that still had them in stock and they only had the most expensive ones left.
Last night, I was at a Walmart Family Market in Florida (Not the Supercenter one) and while I was checking out my shopping cart, I still see a row of VBucks cards (1000, 2800, etc) so I'm pretty surprised to see that they are out of stock while the ones in the Walmart where I was still had a ton laying around. Even Dollar Tree still have a bunch of VBucks cards
I guess they need to be distributed through some kind of store backend by epic themselves? Maybe the servers are down, or there is some kind of problem (maybe hackers or something?)
I'm glad you made this video because I noticed this as well. There's for sure a shortage. I went to buy some for a giveaway and they were sold out on Amazon and Gamestop. Then I had to go to 3 different stores before I found some. I bought 7 cards and there were only a few left. I buy V-bucks all the time for giveaways and I've never seen a shortage like this before.
The online digital cards would technically be cheaper for Epic since that doesn't require the cardboard card or any of the production that goes into that. Simply take the codes you'd make for the cards and save them to give out to people who buy them online. But I've noticed the digital cards missing or their pricing being weird for a while now (at least 1-2 months). I know for the last year these promotions to get free stuff was likely to flush out the old cheaper V-buck cards, but by this point I haven't seen one of those cheaper priced cards in a while. Fortunately, my Walmart has a ton of cards available in all sizes, but it sucks they aren't "restocking" the online cards for whatever reason.

@@freakazoid9889 Why the heck would Epic Games suddenly shut down the game?!?!? Fortnite made up for almost 100 percent of Epic Games' revenue just last year! They're not going anywhere anytime soon....
If they're removing vbucks purchase from stores, my guess they want you to add a credit card to your account in order to buy vbucks which in turn may convince the user to also buy crew pass monthly subscription. It's human psychology if your card is in the system, there's a high chance you will buy other things because of the convenience.
This might be being used to promote walking into these stores and spending a ton more on products you were likely not initially planning on buying. I believe it's likely just a marketing scheme between multiple companies, because otherwise it'd be illogical for Epic to agree on this.
They had to clear out the stock of vbuck cards that were at a lower price so they can reissue new ones at their new higher prices. This is why they gave away a free skin for redeeming the cards.

They really disappeared somewhere last week. A friend traveled to Italy and went to 3 gaming stores to find cards and they were also out of stock and gone.
I had this problem yesterday. As I purchase all skins and emotes in the shop. I always would purchase the digital cards on target and 2 nights ago I noticed they were all gone for some strange reason. I had to purchase them through the game last night but it might be them raising the prices or changing something with the cards to prevent hackers or something. I really don’t know tho
The game stop in my mall was sold out of all gift cards except game stop ones, my local grocery store and target both only had the $50-$100 cards that I would not buy just for a reskin.
In my area, all the dollar generals were sold out of vbucks cards. The manager said that they had to pull them from the shelves because the price is going up. :(
So my friend bought a digital v-bucks card on amazon when this bonus skin first came out and when he redeemed it on his phone, it said the vbucks were not transferable onto his playstation because he redeemed it on his phone. So I wonder if that has something to do with it? I had bought a physical one and the rack was full of them but I live in Canada so not sure if the rack still has some but I'll check. I did a video on how to get the skin too and I show me at the store and all the cards on the 13th when this promo started.
This same thing has been happening on Amazon with eshop cards to Nintendo “all sold out” 😑 Do you stupid big corporations want our money or not?????? If so get this stuff back in stock!
Hey I will give you a tip for shopping in places like Walmart in person! You can ask them if they have any in the back and a lot of times they will, so if you do want some you might need to ask just in case.
@Tabor Hill I believe what happened is, when you got the digital code you had to go on the computer and enter the code on the Fortnite site. Which then gave you another code to enter on the console of your choosing to get the skin and V bucks. So people where refunding the cards after getting the second code, but returning it before using the second code and robbing Fortnite. So they put a STOP to ALL DIGITAL CODES
@@RizeCaprieright and for the physical ones, you have to scratch off the foil at the back so the store surely would not take it back if it's tampered with

so I've not been going crazy when i noticed all the stores stopped selling the gift card codes (every single one for a 25 mile radius from my house for the past 7 months now)
They maybe got complaints from retailers and removed the digital option to force people to buy the cards from retailers and now retailers are sold out, maybe.
